This study uses secondary data to explore language dynamics in interpersonal communication for interpersonal relationships in Africa. Specifically, it looks at how the African society thrives in the use of this form of communication for the preservation of its culture and values and concludes that for these reasons interpersonal communication will continue to remain an intrinsic part of the African life and society
This paper aims to examine the misconception people have about the mass media of communication. Often, the media which include radio, television, books, newspaper, magazines, billboards, Internet and social media such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Quora, Linkedin, YouTube, Snapchat, Telegram, Instagram, and TikTok, are blamed for every societal problem not minding the fact that the media are not the manufacturers of these problems but rather mirror on what affects or is happening in the society. Though social media have come to justify the claim that the media generate problems in society. The study evaluates the audience's perception from academic works done on media and the political system. Several aspects of the society such as advertising, politics, youths, crime, diseases, values and ethics were examined vis-a-viz the media. The researchers adopt a library research approach relying on secondary data for this study. Conclusions were however, drawn from empirical data that were obtained from already existing studies used as secondary data for this research. The challenges posed by climate change/global warming are very alarming, and they have become the focal point of attention for researchers within the global environmental domains. The development of bioenergy can help salvage this situation as a renewable energy source that makes use of recycled waste materials to create useful energy products. This review study found that the development of sustainable bioenergy is environmentally friendly, and it has been proven to be a better means of recycling waste materials into final energy products for sustainable development. The study hereby concluded and recommended that environmental policies concerning the sustainable development of bioenergy should be adopted within the various nations' local laws and the global environment at large, as this will result in adhering strictly to international environmental legal frameworks regulating the prevention and reduction of waste materials. The possible correlation of bioenergy with the Sustainable Development Goals is also highlighted
This study uses secondary data to examine Obiora’s education ethics vis-à-vis the higher education system in Nigeria. The discourse centered on government educational agencies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC); National Board for Technical Education (NBTE); National Commis-sion for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and their roles in the management of the educational system in Nigeria. The study further highlights the ethical lapses in the tertiary education system in Nigeria. The researcher suggests that, the government should encourage private ownership of tertiary institutions, while the government through its agencies supervises them
This study adopts FGDs as a research method. The discussion process was conducted in four different quarters that make up the community with 25 participants. Four research questions were formulated to guide the course of investigation. The findings of the study showed that a large portion of the community members are exposed to media messages on COVID-19 through the television. The findings also showed that, the community people particularly the educated ones watch TV on cable (GOTV and Startimes) and these are the people who shared information with family members, interpret it and take positive actions. While those who cannot read or write watch local NTA Auchi. These group of persons are few and mainly among the illiterate who source for news in local language. A smaller proportion of the sample also affirmed that they do not watch TV or listen to radio for COVID-19 information due to hunger. This group maintained that they only watch Zee World channel. The findings also showed that no group talked about radio with emphasis. It is therefore, agreed that the rural community people in Iyamho do not depend on radio for information including COVID-19 information. In conclusion, the researchers agreed that rural dwellers of Iyamho are exposed to COVID-19 information on TV and the information has shaped their behavior by their interpretation of the messages received. The researchers also conclude that, radio is no longer fashionable in the rural community. It is therefore, recommended that subsequent studies on rural dwellers media message consumption should painstakingly interrogate the influence of social media. Again, in the future, if there is need for health awareness campaign, the government and health agencies should consider the use of traditional media to pass the information across to rural dwellers since illiterate folks still exit in the rural communities. TV information on health matters should be translated in rural languages on TV stations that are on GOTV and Startimes cables.
