    No full text
Previous scholars have explored the effect of self-efficacy on academic engagement. Self-efficacy positively affects academic engagement. However, it is not known whether the impact of self-efficacy on academic engagement differs significantly depending on potential moderator variables. The study aimed to metaanalyse correlational studies on self-efficacy and academic engagement between 2015 and 2022. Meta-analysis was used to examine correlation studies on the effect of self-efficacy on academic engagement. The meta-analysis calculated 68 effect sizes for the 24 studies. In accordance with the PRISMA guidelines, this investigation was conducted in various phases, including problem identification, data collection, screening, evaluation, and extraction. The information was obtained from peer-reviewed journals indexed in databases such as Scopus, EBSCOhost, ProQuest, and Eric searching for articles published in the field. Data analysis was performed using JASP. The study found that the random effects model and the effect size were significant, with a moderate average effect size (d=0.54). The results also indicate that the effects of self-efficacy on academic engagement vary significantly depending on geographical regions. The results have pedagogical implications since they suggest that increasing the academic engagement of learners requires increasing academic self-efficacy and noticing the geographical regions of learners

    No full text
Global competition has been driving many companies globally, including in Indonesia, to develop intrapreneurship within their organizations. The current study offers the concept of star intrapreneurs to examine the intrapreneur character scale which operates at the individual level within the cultural context of Indonesia. The concept of intrapreneurship in this study consisted of two dimensions: the person and the interaction. The dimension of person has three sub-dimensions: pattern of constructive thinking, pattern of positive attitude, and pattern of productive action. Meanwhile, the dimension of interaction also consisted of three subdimensions: friend in thinking, interlocutor, and partner in action. Visually, the six sub-dimensions are depicted in the form of a star with six corner points. Confirmatory factors analysis was used. This study has proven that the two dimensions and the six sub-dimensions of star intrapreneurs are acceptable and correlate with individual work performance as an external validator

Which psychological characteristics strengthen ‚ÄúThe entrepreneurial intention-action relationship‚ÄĚ?: An extension of the theory of planned behavior

    No full text
This study extends the literature of the theory of planned behavior in the context of entrepreneurship. Specifically, this study is intended to verify which psychological characteristics moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurial action. Internal locus of control, innovativeness, and performance goal orientation are proposed to moderate ‚Äúthe entrepreneurial intention-action relationship‚ÄĚ, because those variables have the likelihood for individuals to take action to start a new business. Adopting a cross-sectional design, the data were collected from 188 undergraduate students who participated in an entrepreneurship project and analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. The results demonstrated that internal locus of control was found to strengthen ‚Äúthe entrepreneurial intention-action relationship‚ÄĚ, whereas innovativeness and performance goal orientation did not moderate that relationship. The findings provide practical implications not only for entrepreneurs to consider internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intention in starting a business, but also for entrepreneurship educators in developing a start-up business curriculum based on students‚Äô psychological characteristics

Psychometric properties of the Indonesian adaptation of the entrepreneurial mindset scale

    No full text
The study aims to verify the validity and reliability of the entrepreneurial mindset scale in the Indonesian context (i.e., the adapted EM scale). The respondents were 302 undergraduate students who have already enrolled in the entrepreneurship course. In order to achieve the aim of study, a scale development procedure was conducted, including item generation, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. Item generation was successful in generating the preliminary items of the entrepreneurial mindset scale, whereas exploratory factor analysis was also successful in purifying those preliminary items. Furthermore, confirmatory factor analysis was successful in verifying the convergent validity and the composite reliability of the adapted EM scale. The adapted EM scale was a parsimonious measurement model, and therefore it could be useful for measuring the entrepreneurial mindset of undergraduate students in Indonesia. Future studies are recommended to refine the adapted EM scale: (1) by verifying it among students from other universities, (2) by using two different samples, in which one sample is for exploratory factor analysis and the other one is for confirmatory factor analysis, and (3) by testing the measurement invariance across groups (e.g., gender, age, and origin of university).Published versionThis study was fully supported via a Research Grant Program namely ‚ÄúThe Penelitian Dasar Unggulan Perguruan Tinggi‚ÄĚ (The PDUPT) which financed by The Directorate General of Higher Education, The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia [022/SP2H/LTMULTI-PDPK/LL7/2021]
