    Get PDF
The ability to perform effectively in the gastrointestinal system (GIT) is one of the most significant criteria for selecting the best probiotic bacteria. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the potential probiotic characteristics of some selected lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from vegetable products. Probiotic characteristics included tolerance to acid and bile, cholesterol removing ability, bile salt hydrolysis, resistance against lysozyme and antibiotics, production of exopolysaccharides (EPS), antimicrobial and hemolytic activities, and cell surface characteristics (auto-aggregation, co-aggregation, and hydrophobicity). Out of 46 isolates, 17 isolates that exhibited remarkable survivability under gastrointestinal conditions were selected for further analysis. Almost all 17 isolates tolerated bile salts, while isolates F5 and F26 exhibited the highest bile salt hydrolase activity. Isolates F1, F8, F23, and F37 were able to reduce cholesterol in the broth. The auto-aggregation, the average rate increased significantly after 24 h for all isolates, while 2 isolates showed the highest hydrophobicity values. Moreover, all isolates showed high co-aggregation values after 24 h of incubation compared to 4 h values. All isolates were resistant to lysozyme and vancomycin, and 8 out of the 17 selected isolates displayed an ability to produce EPS. Based on 16S rRNA sequencing, LAB isolates were identified as Enterococcus faecium, E. durans, E. lactis, and Pediococcus acidilactici

    Get PDF
The management of the upper limb (MS) of the child with cerebral palsy (CP) is long past that of walking; many factors make it difficult to study the MS of the child PC: The variability of involvement (spasticity, dystonia) with, unlike the lower limb, the significant impact of associated disorders (sensory, cognitive) for functional use of the upper limb. The great diversity of tasks performed by the upper limb in contrast to the lower limb (cyclic activity of walking) which requires many assessment tools with standardized and age-appropriate tasks, for the multiple treatment goals. But for over fifteen years, with the advancement of research on brain plasticity, the development of new tools and access to certain therapeutics this care has taken a more important place and especially much earlier in the arsenal therapeutic. So we must emphasize the importance of choosing valuable tools for evaluation. .car if the used tests are not relevant, the relevance of the therapeutic action that will follow becomes her also questionable, Moreover, this means also that the therapist has some knowledge of possible therapeutics in order to able to inform his patient and refer him to appropriate stakeholders

This paper examines the theme of education in feminist discourse with particular reference to a speech given by a prominent academic leader (Drew Faust, President and Professor of Harvard University). This is done by reviewing related literature on feminist discourse and public speaking of political and academic leaders. Using insights from genre analysis theory and discourse analysis models, this study investigates the speech in relation to theme, notions, communicative functions, and rhetorical features. The results showed that content and style were influenced by purpose and contextual factors of the occasion. The academic background of the speaker (history) is reflected throughout the speech. Therefore, the rhetorical strategies employed included quoting and narrating in the form of anecdotes. Arguing and giving evidence from documented resources was noted to be the major strategy. The overall framework of the speech seems to be a problemsolution model where questions are raised and answers are provided in relation to the theme of women’s education

Background: Actinobacteria are famous for the production of unique secondary metabolites that help in controlling the continuously emerging drug resistance all over the globe. This study aimed at the investigation of an extreme environment the Cholistan desert, located in southern Punjab, Pakistan, for actinobacterial diversity and their activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The Cholistan desert is a sub-tropical and arid ecosystem with harsh environment, limited rainfall and low humidity. The 20 soil and sand samples were collected from different locations in the desert and the actinobacterial strains were selectively isolated. The isolated strains were identified using a polyphasic taxonomic approach including morphological, biochemical, physiological characterization, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results: A total of 110 desert actinobacterial strains were recovered, which were found to be belonging to 3 different families of the order Actinomycetales, including the family Streptomycetaceae, family Pseudonocardiaceae and the family Micrococcaceae. The most frequently isolated genus was Streptomyces along with the genera Pseudonocardia and Arthrobacter. The isolated strains exhibited promising antimicrobial activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) with zone of inhibition in the range of 9–32 mm in antimicrobial screening assays. The chemical profiling by thin layer chromatography, HPLC-UV/Vis and LC-MS analysis depicted the presence of different structural classes of antibiotics. Conclusion: The study revealed that Cholistan desert harbors immense actinobacterial diversity and most of the strains produce structurally diverse bioactive secondary metabolites, which are a promising source of novel antimicrobial drug candidates

Purpose: The aim of this research is to investigates the correlation between monetary policy and economic growth in Jordan during the period from 2008 to 2022. The study evaluates significant macroeconomic indicators, including inflation rate, interest rate, money supply, and economic growth, within and beyond the specified time frame. The objective of this study is to assess the influence of monetary policy on economic growth through the utilization of the statistical technique of least squares regression. Accurate results are obtained using EViews, a widely recognized statistical program. The data for this study is sourced from reputable institutions such as the World Bank and Trading Economics.   Theoretical framework: The importance of this study holds great significance as it aims to examine the link between monetary policy and the growth of the economy, a topic that has been the subject of extensive theoretical and policy discussions among economists over a significant period. Given the current economic conditions characterized by slow growth and concerns about potential deflation, as well as perceived constraints on economic policies, there is heightened interest in understanding this relationship. Consequently, the debate surrounding this issue has occasionally become intense and contentious.   Design/Methodology/Approach: The Methodology plays a crucial role in scientific research as it provides researchers with a framework to follow in order to achieve objective and reliable results. The choice of methodology may vary depending on the academic discipline, with each approach having its own unique characteristics and functions that are utilized by researchers in their respective fields of specialization. In the context of this particular study, a descriptive approach was adopted for the theoretical aspect, while an analytical approach was employed for the practical aspect. By collecting macroeconomic indicators as time series data from 2008 to 2022, the study aimed to investigate the interconnection implementation of monetary policy and the growth of the economy. To examine the stability of the variables, unit root tests were employed, and the data utilized in the study was obtained from reliable sources such as the World Bank and Trading Economics.   Findings:  The result of this  analysis reveals significant findings regarding the influence of various factors on economic growth from 2008 to 2022. The findings reveal a statistically significant negative association between the inflation rate and economic growth, with a significance level of 0.05. Based on this finding, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected in favor of the alternative hypothesis (H1). However, the study determines that the impact of the interest rate on economic growth is not statistically significant at the 0.05 significance level. Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is rejected. Finally, the analysis reveals a statistically significant positive relationship between money supply and economic growth, with a significance level of 0.05. As a result, the study rejects the null hypothesis (H0) and supports the alternative hypothesis (H1). These findings offer valuable insights into the connection between monetary policy and economic growth within the specified timeframe. The study highlights the need for further comprehensive research on the factors influencing the growth of the Jordanian economy. Specifically, it emphasizes the importance of investigating various indicators of monetary policy and their effects on economic growth in Jordan. It is recommended to consider inflation rate policies and implement economic reform measures to mitigate the adverse impacts of inflation on economic growth in the country. Furthermore, careful attention should be given to money supply and the policies implemented by relevant institutions, particularly regarding the circulation of money, due to its positive influence on economic growth.   Research, practical & social implications: The aims of this study is to examine the interplay between various monetary policy instruments and the dynamics of economic growth, with a specific focus on the context of Jordan. The objective of this study is to assess the influence of monetary policy on economic growth through the utilization of the statistical technique of least squares regression. Accurate results are obtained using EViews, a widely recognized statistical program. The data for this study is sourced from reputable institutions such as the World Bank and Trading Economics

In the present study, the formation constant and the stoichiometry of murexide complexes with Co (II) and Ni (II) have been determined spectrophotometrically in aqueous solution at 25oC. Two experimental parameters governed the complex formation, pH and time, have been investigated. The formation and stoichiometry constants have been determined by two methods: Job's and mole ratio's methods. The absorption maxima for Co-murexide and Ni-murexide complexes were: 480, 460 nm, respectively. The two Spectrophotometric methods confirm the formation of 2:1 (M:L) complexes with stability arrange of: Co > Ni. The formation constants (Kf) determined by the Job's method were as follows: 2.06x1014 and 1.21x1011 for Co-murexide and Ni-murexide, respectively. Also, using mole ratio's method, the formation constants were found to be:  9.18x1011 and 6.01x1011. Molar absorptivity values of the studied complexes have also been determined (by Job's and mole ratio's methods) and the average values were: 18235 and 13284 l/mol.cm for Co and Ni, respectively
