Due to Corona Virus Pandemic (Covid-19), several countries across the world resorted to lockdowns in order to protect their people from getting infected from the virus. But these lockdowns confined millions of citizens to their homes restricting their mobility. Restricted mobilization resulted in shutting down businesses and ceasing almost all economic activities. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the global economy is expected to shrink by over 3 per cent in 2020, the steepest slowdown since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Another analysis by International Monetary Fund reveals that demand in the manufacturing sector has gone down in many countries of the world that further resulted in unemployment. During the lockdown, an estimated 14 crore (140 million) people lost employment while salaries were cut for many others. More than 45 per cent of households across the nation have reported an income drop as compared to the previous year. Thus, Covid-19/ Crona virus outbreak has presented new and significant downside risks to the global economic outlook. In the case of India too, some economists revealedthatduringlockdownthereis ajoblossof40millionpeople(MRD report) in the country, that’s too in the unorganized sectors. Moreover, with theadventofthelockdownmostofthe sectorshiftedtheirfunctioningonline orworkfromhomeinordertosustain their working. During shutdown it is also observed that the digital world got a push, sale of mobile phones and related gadgets increased. The small as well as big traders, businessmen started using apps like watsepp, Face book, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram, PayTM etc more frequently. Undoubtedly, social media has helped in sustaining economy and business during the Corona Virus Pandemic. The present research work is an effort to look upon the role of social media in sustaining business during lockdown. Data were collected empirically again with the help of social media. Results revealed that impacts of lockdown were different on different types of businesses

A Review of Workflow Scheduling in Cloud Computing Environment

Abstract Over the years, distributed environments have evolved from shared community platforms to utility-based models; the latest of these being Cloud computing. This technology enables the delivery of IT resources over the Internet and follows a pay-as-you-go model where users are charged based on their usage. There are various types of Cloud providers each of which has different product offerings. They are classified into a hierarchy of as-a-service terms: Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). There are a mass of researches on the issue of scheduling in cloud computing, most of them, however, are about workflow and job scheduling. A cloud workflow system is a type of platform service which facilitates the automation of distributed applications based on the novel cloud infrastructure. Many scheduling policies have been proposed till now which aim to maximize the amount of work completed while meeting QoS constraints such as deadline and budget. However many of them are not optimal to incorporate some basic principles of Cloud Computing such as the elasticity and heterogeneity of the computing resources. Therefore our work focuses on studying various problems and issues related to workflow scheduling

    OTOCEPHALY - A CASE REPORT

Otocephaly is a condition characterized by aplasia or hypoplasia of mandible, a small oral fissure and low lying ears at the level of neck usually meeting in the midline. this case report is about a male child with otocephaly, who was unable to survive for long after birth.. The reporting of such cases is important to know the incidence of the anomaly, for further study on the developmental defects or determine the causitive agents/risk factors leading to such conditions and to make strategies to decrease the incidence

    GLUCAGONOMA SYNDROME-A CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT : The glucagonoma syndrome is characterized by dermatitis, glucose intolerance, hypoaminoacidemia, and hyperglucagonemia secondary to an alpha-cell tumor of the pancreas. The classical symptoms are associated with alpha-cell pancreatic islet cell tumor or 'glucagonoma'. Other clinical features include anemia, glossitis, and weight loss. A 65-year-old woman with the syndrome came for medical attention for a skin rash, glossitis, and weight loss. A skin biopsy was suggestive of necrolytic migratory erythema. Necrolytic migratory erythema is considered to be a paraneoplastic dermatosis. To our knowledge, it is rarely reported in the literature. Skin symptoms are important; often they are the clue to the diagnosis of glucagonoma syndrome. On ultrasound there was hypoechoic mass in the distal pancreas so she was advised CT scan of the mass. CT scan showed high density area 4.5 cms in diameter with calcification in the tail of the pancreas. She later on passed away because of late presentation, delayed diagnosis and delayed treatment. The diagnosis of necrolytic migratory erythema is a matter of great importance, since it might be an auxiliary tool for the early detection of glucagonoma

Risk portfolio on modern finance has become increasingly technical, requiring the use of sophisticated mathematical tools in both research and practice. Since companies cannot insure themselves completely against risk, as human incompetence in predicting the future precisely that written in Al-Quran surah Luqman verse 34, they have to manage it to yield an optimal portfolio. The objective here is to minimize the variance among all portfolios, or alternatively, to maximize expected return among all portfolios that has at least a certain expected return. Furthermore, this study focuses on optimizing risk portfolio so called Markowitz MVO (Mean-Variance Optimization). Some theoretical frameworks for analysis are arithmetic mean, geometric mean, variance, covariance, linear programming, and quadratic programming. Moreover, finding a minimum variance portfolio produces a convex quadratic programming, that is minimizing the objective function ðð¥with constraintsð ð 𥠥 ðandð´ð¥ = ð. The outcome of this research is the solution of optimal risk portofolio in some investments that could be finished smoothly using MATLAB R2007b software together with its graphic analysis
