Magnetic ordering in GaAlAs:Mn double well structure

The magnetic order in the diluted magnetic semiconductor barrier of double AlAs/GaAs: Mn quantum well structures is investigated by Monte Carlo simulations. A confinement adapted RKKY mechanism is implemented for indirect exchange between Mn ions mediated by holes. It is shown that, depending on the barrier width and the hole concentration a ferromagnetic or a spin-glass order can be established.Comment: 3 figure

Teologi Kerukunan Beragama Dalam Islam (Studi Kasus Kerukunan Beragama Di Indonesia)

Religious affiliation and cultural diversity has become potential sources of social conflicts in Indonesia. As almost every existing religion has a truth claim, all of it's believers fell obliged to proclaim religious teachings and values in social and national life. Viewed in this context , the biggest problem in Indonesia today is “ how theology of existing religions define themselves among other religions . This article is aimed at exploring the concept of “Tasamuh / the principle of tolerance” as one of the theological basis of the religious consciousness in Islam. The concept of tolerance in Islam is so simple and rational. Islam requires its followers to establish strict limits in the context of faith, while maintaining respect for other's rights, individually, socially and religiously. Such an obligation is made to keep its followers not to get stuck on syncretism

The Concept of Tolerance in Islamic Education

This article aims to discuss comprehensively the concept of tolerance in Islam later thought in such a way that the concept can be applied operationally in Islamic educational institutions such as madrassas, Islamic boarding schools and colleges. Methods and approaches used to address this issue are philosophical (phenomenological) and the sociology of education, one of which is the theory of inclusivism Mircea Eliade. In Islam, different thoughts, tribes, and even religion (adherents) refer to fitrah and sunnatullāh of God‟s will. For this reason, then, tasāmuh (tolerance) becomes an important doctrine in every religion treatise, including in Islamic education system i.e; 1) to have responsive toward modernization which has been existed in general school institutions under Ministry of Education; 2) to develop sensitive character toward the change through apporiate learning strtategy and developing children psycho-social condition, modernizing learning facilities, environment, and other supporting factors including the involevement of parents, government, society and other education stakeholder; 3) to implement a model to strengthen inclusive Islamic education system which is opened, dialogic, and student-centered; 4) to bear a strong and tough human reseource with high tolerance who will act to occupy and create new civilization emphasizing on religion, spritual and humanism values; 5) to develop networking and corporation both national and International to expand informationn access, funding, and other International supports

On the nature of the spin-polarized hole states in a quasi-two-dimensional GaMnAs ferromagnetic layer

A self-consistent calculation of the density of states and the spectral density function is performed in a two-dimensional spin-polarized hole system based on a multiple-scattering approximation. Using parameters corresponding to GaMnAs thin layers, a wide range of Mn concentrations and hole densities have been explored to understand the nature, localized or extended, of the spin-polarized holes at the Fermi level for several values of the average magnetization of the Mn ystem. We show that, for a certain interval of Mn and hole densities, an increase on the magnetic order of the Mn ions come together with a change of the nature of the states at the Fermi level. This fact provides a delocalization of spin-polarized extended states anti-aligned to the average Mn magnetization, and a higher spin-polarization of the hole gas. These results are consistent with the occurrence of ferromagnetism with relatively high transition temperatures observed in some thin film samples and multilayered structures of this material.Comment: 3 page

Pengaruh Kecerdasan Intelektual, Kecerdasan Emosional Dan Kecerdasan Spiritual Terhadap Kinerja Petugas Pada Direktorat Polisi Perairan (Ditpolair) Pekanbaru

This study aims to determine the effect of intellectual, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence simultaneously on the performance of the Direktorat Polisi Perairan (Ditpolair) Pekanbaru. To determine the influence of intellectual, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence partially on the performance of the Direktorat Polisi Perairan (Ditpolair) Pekanbaru. And to determine which variables are the dominant influence on the performance of the Direktorat Polisi Perairan (Ditpolair) Pekanbaru. In this study, the population is Water Police Directorate officers (Ditpolair) Pekanbaru, amounting to 82. To undertake research sample taken using census method that sets the entire population as the study sample. Analysis of the data in this study will use a multiple regression model. The results of this study stated that intelligence (X1), emotional intelligence (X2) and spiritual intelligence variable (X3) simultaneously have significant affects the performance. Then partially these three variables also have a significant effect. Variable spiritual intelligence ( X3 ) is a dominant variable affecting the performance Ditpolair Riau Police officers because it has a regression coefficient greater than the other independent variables (intellectual and emotional intelligence). Effect of intellectual, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence on the performance simultaneous based Adjusted R2 value is equal to 0.476 or 47.60 % , while 52.40 % influenced by other variables not examined in this study as a factor compensation motivation, environment work, supervision and so forth

Nonlinear screening and stopping power in two-dimensional electron gases

    Get PDF
We have used density functional theory to study the nonlinear screening properties of a two-dimensional (2D) electron gas. In particular, we consider the screening of an external static point charge of magnitude Z as a function of the distance of the charge from the plane of the gas. The self-consistent screening potentials are then used to determine the 2D stopping power in the low velocity limit based on the momentum transfer cross-section. Calculations as a function of Z establish the limits of validity of linear and quadratic response theory calculations, and show that nonlinear screening theory already provides significant corrections in the case of protons. In contrast to the 3D situation, we find that the nonlinearly screened potential supports a bound state even in the high density limit. This behaviour is elucidated with the derivation of a high density screening theorem which proves that the screening charge can be calculated perturbatively in the high density limit for arbitrary dimensions. However, the theorem has particularly interesting implications in 2D where, contrary to expectations, we find that perturbation theory remains valid even when the perturbing potential supports bound states.Comment: 23 pages, 15 figures in RevTeX

Understanding media literacy in relation to adolescent soft drink consumption behavior

This paper examines relationship between media literacy and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) variables focusing on consumption of soft drink among adolescents in Klang Valley, Malaysia. In addition, this paper also determines soft drink consumption, level of media literacy and the influences of the TPB variables on the intention of soft drink consumption. A cluster sampling method was used in collecting data within the Klang Valley area. The sample consisted of 436 adolescents from secondary school, aged between 13 to 18 years old. Two main scales utilized were Media Literacy (ML) scale and TPB scale. The descriptive, multiple linear regression and Pearson product-moment correlation analyses were carried out to answer the research objectives. Results revealed that 36% of respondents drank a minimum of 1 can, bottle or glass of soft drink for the past seven days and possess good level of media literacy (35%).Meanwhile, 14% of variance in adolescents’ intention of soft drink consumption is explained by TPB variables. Additionally, the total media literacy score towards soft drink advertisement was significantly positively correlated with attitude (r = 0.250, p<.05) and subjective norms (r = 0.174, p<.05). Conversely, total media literacy was significant negatively correlated with intention to consume soft drink (r = -0.19, p<.05) and indicated that media literacy could lower the intention to consume soft drink, thus can reduce soft drink consumption among adolescents. The importance of this study is to help the authorities, soft drink marketers and producers in Malaysia to better understand media literacy and adolescent soft drink consumption behavior
