    Contributing factors of labor productivity in the industrial sector in Indonesia: a comparative study among regions

    TIndonesia’s degree of competitiveness in attracting investment is relatively low compared to other ASEAN countries, e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, despite the country’s potential resources. Specifically, low labour productivity in industrial sector led to lower degree of investment competitiveness in Indonesia. Thus, this study aims to examine the transformation of economic structures and factors determining the regional labor productivity in industrial sector in Indonesia. This study employs multiple regression method with panel data approach on 34 provinces in Indonesia from 2014 to 2019. This study suggests that, in general, the decline of agriculture sector share in the Eastern part of Indonesia was greater than the Western part of Indonesia. Furthermore, the composition of labor absorption in Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Kalimantan decline periodically. This research also suggests that the factors leading to improvement of productivity in the Industrial sector in Western part of Indonesia is real wages. Moreover, provision of electricity is the contributing factor and hampers labor productivity in the Eastern part of Indonesia.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pengeluaran Pemerintah Bidang Pendidikan, Kesehatan, dan Infrastruktur Terhadap Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka di Provinsi Gorontalo. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu data sekunder yang bersumber dari Badan Pusat Statistik dan Direktorat Jenderal Perimbangan Keuangan (DJPK). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Regresi Linier Berganda Data Panel, pada periode 2011-2021 di 6 Kabupaten/kota. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengeluaran pemerintah bidang pendidikan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengangguran terbuka di Provinsi Gorontalo. Artinya, setiap kenaikan pengeluaran pemerintah bidang pendidikan akan meningkatkan pengangguran terbuka di Provinsi Gorontalo. Pengeluaran pemerintah bidang kesehatan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pengangguran terbuka di Provinsi Gorontalo. Artinya, setiap kenaikan pengeluaran pemerintah bidang kesehatan akan diikuti dengan menurunnya pengangguran terbuka di Povinsi Gorontalo., dan pengeluaran pemerintah bidang infrastruktur berpengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap pengangguran terbuka di Provinsi Gorontalo. Artinya, setiap kenaikan pengeluaran pemerintah bidang infrastruktur belum tentu dapat mengurangi pengangguran terbuka di Provinsi Gorontalo.

    Effects of Capital Expenditures, Development Index and Unemployment on Poverty in Gorontalo Province

    This study aims to analyze the effect of capital expenditure in the form of regional government budgets to obtain fixed assets, the Human Development Index and Unemployment to the Poverty Level in Gorontalo Province. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Gorontalo Province Central Bureau of Statistics and the Registration Management Information System (Simreg Bappenas) during the period 2010-2015, the unit of analysis is 5 districts 1 city in Gorontalo Province. The research estimate uses panel data multiple regression analysis with the Fixed Model Effect (FEM) method. The results of the study indicate that (i) The amount of capital expenditure allocated by each region in Gorontalo Province shows a positive and significant influence on the Poverty Level in the 2010-2016 period. (ii) The Human Development Index, which is a benchmark for the achievement of an area in three basic things such as life expectancy, education level, and a decent level of life, turned out to have a positive and significant influence on the District / City Kemskinan Level in Gorontalo Province. (iii) Unemployment has a positive but not significant effect on the District / City Poverty Level in Gorontalo Province in the period 2010-2016.Keywords: Capital Expenditures, Development Index, Unemployment, Povert

    Unravelling Poverty Indicators in the Tomini Bay Region of Indonesia: A Comprehensive Analysis of SDG 10

    The Tomini Bay Region, with its abundant natural resources, can be leveraged to promote inclusive and sustainable community welfare in line with SDG 10's global target to reduce inequality. However, despite the region's natural wealth, much of the area is plagued by high poverty. In response, local governments have launched several programs to stimulate economic growth while addressing these issues. To assess the effectiveness of these poverty programs, this study evaluated the economic development of the Tomini Bay area using the SDGs framework. The objectives of this study are twofold: 1) to map the progress of SDG 10 poverty indicators in the region, and 2) to project the achievement of SDG 10 poverty indicator targets in the region by 2030. This study employs quantitative descriptive data analysis. The mapping results are expected to aid local governments in formulating more targeted and inclusive development plans

    The Impact of Government Infrastructure Spending on Economic Growth and Poverty in Gorontalo Province

    This research aims to analyse the impact of government infrastructure spending on economic growth and poverty in Gorontalo Province. This research uses datasets on government expenditure, economic growth, and poverty rate from Central Statistics Bureau (Badan Pusat Statistik, BPS), Directorate General of Fiscal Balances Ministry of Finance. This research uses panel data regression in 5 regencies during 2013-2017 in Gorontalo Province. The main results of this research show that (i) public works has negative and insignificant impact on economic growth; (ii) the public housing sector has a negative and not significant impact on economic growth; (iii) the transportation sector has a positive and insignificant impact on economic growth; (iv) the public works sector has a negative and not significant impact on poverty; (v) the public housing sector has a positive and insignificant impact on poverty; (vi) the transportation sector has a negative and not significant impact on poverty.     Pengaruh Pengelolaan Dana Desa Dalam Meningkatkan Pembangunan Desa Popalo Kecamatan Anggrek Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara

    The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive research method where the data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to the Popalo village community, including the Popalo village government. In the meantime, the population of this research was the entire Heads of Household, totaling 347 people, including the village government registered in Popalo Village, Anggrek Subdistrict, Gorontalo Utara Regency. Meanwhile, the research samples were 30 respondents or 30 Heads of Household. At the same time, the data analysis technique used was the product-moment correlation statistical formula. The findings depicted that the village fund positively and significantly affected the development of Popalo Village, Anggrek Subdistrict, Gorontalo Utara Regency. This finding signified that the good implementation of village fund by the government could improve the development of Popalo Village, Anggrek Subdistrict, Gorontalo Utara Regency

    Analysis Of Village Dau, Dak, And Funds On Inequality Distribution Income And Growth In Indonesia 2015-2018

    This study aims to analyze (1) the effect of DAU on economic growth, (2) the effect of DAK on economic growth, (3) the effect of income distribution inequality on economic growth, (4) the influence of the Village Fund on income distribution inequality, (5) the effect of growth the economy against inequality of income distribution. The data used were sourced from the Ministry of Finance through the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance and the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency during the 2015-2018 period, the unit of analysis was 33 provinces in Indonesia. This study uses a simultaneous equation regression model with the two stage least square (2SLS) regression technique with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results showed that, (1) general allocation funds have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, which means that any increase in general allocation funds will be followed by an increase in economic growth. (2) special allocation funds have a negative and significant effect on economic growth. This means that any increase in special allocation funds will make economic growth decline. (3) income distribution inequality has a negative and significant effect on economic growth, which means that any increase in income distribution inequality can as much as reduce economic growth. (4) the variable of village funds has a negative and not significant effect on the inequality of income distribution, which means that any increase in village funds will make the income distribution inequality decrease. (5) economic growth variable has a negative and significant effect on inequality of income distribution, which means that any increase in economic growth can reduce inequality of income distribution decreases.     This research employed a quantitative approach with the Ex-post facto research method. The data used were primary data obtained by distributing questionnsires to economics education students in the class of 2022, with a total sample of 70 respondents. At the same time, the data analysis technique technique used was multiple linear regressions. The results of data analysis and discussion denoted that family socioeconomic status and learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on interest in pursuing education. This result signified that good family socioeconomic status and learning motivation could increase students’ interest in pursuing education at the department of economics education, faculty of economics, universitas negeri gorontalo. It could be concluded that the research finding could answer the problems formulated in this research
