Fine Splitting in Charmonium Spectrum with Channel Coupling Effect

We study the fine splitting in charmonium spectrum in quark model with the channel coupling effect, including DDDD, DDβˆ—DD^*, Dβˆ—Dβˆ—D^*D^* and DsDsD_sD_s, DsDsβˆ—D_sD_s^*, Dsβˆ—Dsβˆ—D_s^*D_s^* channels. The interaction for channel coupling is constructed from the current-current Lagrangian related to the color confinement and the one-gluon exchange potentials. By adopting the massive gluon propagator from the lattice calculation in the nonperturbative region, the coupling interaction is further simplified to the four-fermion interaction. The numerical calculation still prefers the assignment 1++1^{++} of X(3872).Comment: Submitted to Chinese Physics

Measurement-device-independent QKD with Modified Coherent State

The measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) protocol has been proposed for the purpose of removing the detector side channel attacks. Due to the multi-photon events of coherent states sources, real-life implementations of MDI-QKD protocol must employ decoy states to beat the photon-number-splitting attack. Decoy states for MDI-QKD based on the weak coherent states have been studied recently. In this paper, we propose to perform MDI-QKD protocol with modified coherent states (MCS) sources. We simulate the performance of MDI-QKD with the decoy states based on MCS sources. And our simulation indicates that both the secure-key rate and transmission distance can be improved evidently with MCS sources. The physics behind this improvement is that the probability of multi-photon events of the MCS is lower than that of weak coherent states while at the same time the probability of single-photon is higher

Tunable Goos-H\"{a}nchen shift and polarization beam splitter in electro-optic crystals

We have investigated the tunable lateral shift and polarization beam splitting of the transmitted light beam through electro-optic crystals, based on the Pockels effect. The positive and negative lateral shifts could be easily controlled by adjusting the permittivity tensor, which is modulated by the external applied electric field. An alternative way to realize the polarization beam splitter was also proposed by the polarization-dependent lateral shifts. Numerical simulations for Gaussian-shaped incident beam have demonstrated the above theoretical results obtained by stationary phase method. All these phenomena have potential applications in optical devices.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figure
