    Storytelling Security: User-Intention Based Traffic Sanitization

    Malicious software (malware) with decentralized communication infrastructure, such as peer-to-peer botnets, is difficult to detect. In this paper, we describe a traffic-sanitization method for identifying malware-triggered outbound connections from a personal computer. Our solution correlates user activities with the content of outbound traffic. Our key observation is that user-initiated outbound traffic typically has corresponding human inputs, i.e., keystroke or mouse clicks. Our analysis on the causal relations between user inputs and packet payload enables the efficient enforcement of the inter-packet dependency at the application level. We formalize our approach within the framework of protocol-state machine. We define new application-level traffic-sanitization policies that enforce the inter-packet dependencies. The dependency is derived from the transitions among protocol states that involve both user actions and network events. We refer to our methodology as storytelling security. We demonstrate a concrete realization of our methodology in the context of peer-to-peer file-sharing application, describe its use in blocking traffic of P2P bots on a host. We implement and evaluate our prototype in Windows operating system in both online and offline deployment settings. Our experimental evaluation along with case studies of real-world P2P applications demonstrates the feasibility of verifying the inter-packet dependencies. Our deep packet inspection incurs overhead on the outbound network flow. Our solution can also be used as an offline collect-and-analyze tool

    This is a case report of spinal tuberculosis combined with sacroiliac joint tuberculosis, pulmonary tuberculosis, chest wall tuberculosis and tuberculous pleurisy and the image of the patient is rare, special and not typical and it looks like a halo sign. It has an important reference value for the diagnosis of spine tuberculosis although it is a rare imaging manifestation and diagnosis was confirmed by pathology after the surgery. Therefore atypical imaging is often appeared in clinical practice and it is meaningful and necessary for the diagnosis of atypical spinal tuberculosis combined with multiple organ tuberculosis.Pan African Medical Journal 2016; 2

    Searching for Heavier Higgs Boson via Di-Higgs Production at LHC Run-2

    The LHC discovery of a light Higgs particle h0h^0 (125GeV) opens up new prospect for searching heavier Higgs boson(s) at the LHC Run-2, which will unambiguously point to new physics beyond the standard model (SM). We study the detection of a heavier neutral Higgs boson H0H^0 via di-Higgs production channel at the LHC (14TeV), H0h0h0WWγγH^0 \to h^0h^0 \to WW^*\gamma\gamma. This directly probes the HhhHhh cubic Higgs interaction, which exists in most extensions of the SM Higgs sector. For the decay products of final states WWWW^*, we include both pure leptonic mode WWνˉˉνWW^* \to \ell\bar{\nu}\bar{\ell}\nu and semi-leptonic mode WWqqˉνWW^* \to q\bar{q}'\ell\nu. We analyze signals and backgrounds by performing fast detector simulation for the full processes ppHhhWWγγνˉˉνγγpp \to H \to hh \to WW^*\gamma\gamma \to \ell\bar{\nu}\bar{\ell}\nu\gamma\gamma and ppHhhWWγγνqqˉγγpp \to H \to hh \to WW^*\gamma\gamma \to \ell\nu q\bar{q}'\gamma\gamma, over the mass range MH=250600M_H=250-600GeV.     From the perspective of “Learning, Training, Competition and Innovation” (LTCI) mode, this paper focuses on the construction of maker teams of foreign language majors of Baoding University, one of the typical application-oriented universities in Hebei province, China. It first introduces the background of the study, indicating the importance of carrying out innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the value of “LTCI” mode. Then a review of the literature shows the need for this study. After that, the paper analyzes the status quo of the foreign language maker teams at Baoding University. Based on the existing problems, the researcher proposes the framework and implementation plan on the construction of maker teams of foreign language majors with “LTCI” involvement.     2020/21 record-breaking cold waves in east of China enhanced by the ‘Warm Arctic-Cold Siberia’ pattern

    Extreme cold waves frequently occur in east of China that dramatically endanger ecological agriculture, power infrastructure and human life. In this study, we found that the 'Warm Arctic-Cold Siberia' pattern (WACS) significantly enhanced cold waves in east of China according to daily composites from 1979 to 2018. During the winter 2020/21, a record-breaking cold wave broke out following a noticeable WACS phenomenon and induced the record-low surface air temperature at 60 meteorological stations since they were established (nearly 60 years). On 3 January 2021, the difference in temperature anomaly between the Barents–Kara Sea and Siberia reached 20 °C, the peak of winter 2020/21. With a shrinking meridional temperature gradient, the atmospheric baroclinicity weakened correspondingly. The accompanying atmospheric anomalies, i.e. the persistent Ural Blocking High and Baikal deep trough effectively transported stronger cold air than the sole impact from Arctic warming. After 4 d, the east of China experienced a severe surface air temperature decrease of more than 8 °C, covering an area of 2500 000 km2. During the same winter, a record-breaking warm event occurred in February 2021, and the 'Cold Arctic-Warm Eurasia' pattern also appeared as a precursory signal. Furthermore, on the interannual scale, the connection between winter-mean temperature anomalies in east of China and the WACS pattern also existed and even performed more strongly in both observations and simulation data of CMIP6.publishedVersio
