Аmelioration by phytoadaptogene of effects of balneofactors of Truskavets’ Spa on patients with post-radiation encephalopathy
Background. We have previously explored effects of Ukrainian phytocomposition “Balm Truskavets’” on parameters of neuro-endocrine-immune complex and biophotonics in humans with maladaptation. It is known that in patients with post-radiation encephalopathy the reaction to some stimuli is significantly changed, therefore it needs correction. The purpose of this study is to test the ability of this phytocomposition to amelioration the effects of standard balneotherapeutic complex in patients with post-radiation encephalopathy. Material and methods. The research was carried out through a retrospective analysis of the database of the Truskavetsian Scientific School of Balneology, which remained unpublished. The object of observation in 1997 were 19 men and 3 women with urate urolithiasis and chronic pyelonephritis who were exposed to pathogenic factors of the accident at the Chоrnobylian nuclear power plant during the liquidation of its consequences in 1986-87. The survey was conducted twice: on admission and after two weeks of rehabilitation in sanatorium “Perlyna Prykarpattya” (Truskavets’ Spa). 11 patients received standard balneotherapy while the other 11 patients additionally received the phytocomposition “Balm Truskavets’”. According to the protocol, blood pressure, routine hematological and biochemical blood parameters were determined. In addition, physical working capacity (PWC150) as well as EEG, heart rate variability (HRV) and immunity parameters were determined. Results. Standard balneotherapy increases the decreased level of T-helper lymphocytes, but further decreases the level of B-lymphocytes, glomerular filtration rate and PWC150, in combination with increased normal levels of blood creatinine and urea, as well as decreased levels of diastolic BP and heart rate. This is accompanied by a further increase in the sympathetic tone and the leveling of the increased of ULF band HRV as marker of level in the plasma of catecholamines and glucocorticoids. Additional use of phytocomposition limits the adverse effects of standard balneotherapy by modulating EEG and HRV parameters. Conclusion. Phytocomposition "Balm Truskavets'" by modulating the parameters of the nervous system limits the adverse effects of standard balneotherapy at the Truskavets’ Spa in patients with post-radiation encephalopathy
Assessment of coping with illness among patients with hepatitis C – on example of research in Poland
Introduction: In Poland approximately 2% of the population are infected with HCV. The majority (70-80%) of persons infected with HCV develop chronic hepatitis C which, when untreated, may lead to cirrhosis and/or hepatocellular carcinoma. The skills of coping with stress and acceptance of chronic illness may motivate patients for participation in treatment and leading a health-promoting life style.
Objective: The aim of the study was assessment of coping with illness in patients with chronic hepatitis C.
Materials and Method: The study included 220 adults with chronic hepatitis C, and was conducted by the method of a diagnostic survey using the Polish questionnaire: Brief Method of Assessment of Coping with Illness (Krótka Metoda Oceny Radzenia Sobie z Chorobą - KMORSZCH), the Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS), and an author-constructed questionnaire.
Results: The examined group of patients with hepatitis C most strongly presented style oriented on emotions and passivity (mean score 1.20), and style focused on problem solving (mean score 1.05), followed by respondents who presented avoidance-oriented style (mean score 0.98), whereas the style focused on seeking the best solution to the problem was most rarely chosen (mean score 0.77). It was found that the more frequently the respondents presented style oriented on experiencing emotions and passivity, to the significantly lower degree they accepted their illness. Patients with higher education significantly more often presented style focused on seeking the best solution to the problem (p<0.045),while those with the lowest level of education significantly more frequently were oriented on experiencing emotions and passivity (p<0.001). Rural inhabitants significantly more often presented style oriented on experiencing emotions and passivity (p<0.002). The remaining independent variables: gender, age, marital status, number of years of illness, and occupational activity had an insignificant effect on the selection of the style of coping with hepatitis C.
Conclusions: The results of the study confirm the need for psychotherapeutic actions with respect to patients with hepatitis C in order to help them cope with the chronic disease, because they most often chose style oriented on emotions and passivity. Psychological assistance should be provided especially for the group of patients who have difficulty with acceptance of the illness
Similarity effects of two types of adaptogens (transcutaneous electrical stimulation with the device “VEB” ® and using of bioactive Naftussya water) on the human body
Background. The studies of the Truskavetsian Scientific School of Balneology have shown that both the Naftussya bioactive water and the standard balneotherapy complex (Naftussya drink, ozokerite applications, mineral baths) exhibit the properties of adaptogens, similar to such ginseng and phytocompositions. At the same time, in the process of researching the influence of devices for transcutaneous electrical stimulation on the human body, we found that changes in the parameters of the neuro-endocrine-immune complex and metabolism also have an adaptogenic character. The purpose of this study is to find effects common to adaptogens of chemical and physical nature. Materials and Methods. The object of observation were 29 women 30-76 (50±13) y and 28 men 25-69 (48±13) y without a clinical diagnosis, but with the deviations from the norm in a number of parameters of the neuro-endocrine-immune complex as a manifestation of dysadaptation. Parameters of biophotonics, acupuncture points, EEG, HRV, immunity, metabolism, blood pressure and hormones levels before and after a four-day transcutaneous electrical stimulation session or one-week course of drinking of Naftussya water registered. Results. Screening revealed that 43 variables respond to the action of adaptogens according to the law of the initial level, at the same time, 4 initially elevated and 9 normal variables show further growth. Caused by adaptogens changes in 7 EEG and 7 HRV parameters determine favorable changes in 2 endocrine, 10 immune, 3 metabolic, 2 hemodynamic and 3 biophotonics parameters by 83,5%. Conclusion. The adaptogens both of chemical and physical nature, activating the receptors of the gut mucosa or the skin, respectively, have similar favorable effects on the parameters of the neuroendocrine-immune complex, metabolism, hemodynamics and biophotonics

Similarity of adaptogenic effects of bioactive naftussya water and phytocomposition “Balm Truskavets’”
Background. From previous studies, it is known about the adaptogenic properties of Naftussya bioactive water and the Ukrainian phytocomposition "Balm Truskavets’". Both adaptogens have a common component of the composition - polyphenols, which suggests the existence of similar effects on the parameters of the body responsible for adaptation. The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis. Material and methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 30 practically healthy individuals of both sexes with dysfunction of the neuro-endocrine-immune complex as a manifestation of maladaptation. Before and after a one-week course of using Balm (10 people) or Naftussya water (20 people), plasma levels of the main adaptation hormones, parameters of electroencephalogram (EEG), heart rate variability (HRV), phagocytosis, leukocytogram, as well as acupuncture and bioelectrophotonics were recorded. Results. 39 parameters (18 EEGs, 8 HRVs, 5 biophysical, 4 phagocytosis, as well as the Popovych’s leukocytary adaptation index, triiodothyronine, testosterone and cortisol) were identified, the physiologically favorable changes of which are common to both adaptogenic means. Conclusion. The influence of adaptogens of various nature on the state of adaptation of the body is non-specific and is implemented through the neuro-endocrine-immune complex
Physical activity levels of people over 60
Introduction: Physical activity at any age brings numerous benefits. In youth, it strengthens and increases a person's overall physical fitness whereas in old age it improves well-being, inhibits the ageing process and sustains health. With systematic exercise it is possible to maintain physical fitness at a higher level compared to physically inactive people [1]. Physical activity is one of the factors that determines a person's state of health. Their ontogenesis is also a major element of a healthy lifestyle [2]. The human body was created for movement so, in order to function properly, it needs regular activities and physical exercise [3]. Regular physical activity influences the maintenance of functional fitness, independence and autonomy in performing daily activities in older age. Movement deficiency is a problem at any age, especially in seniors. Maintaining an active lifestyle among the elderly is a major component of successful ageing [4].
Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to assess the physical activity levels in people over 60 years old, and whether there is a correlation between sociodemographic factors, BMI and physical activity levels in the study group.
Material and method: The study was conducted remotely in July and August 2020 on people aged 60 and over. The study involved 77 people over 60 years of age: 63 women and 14 men. The research tool was the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). In the study group 69 people were aged 60-70 years and 8 people were aged 71-80 years.
Results: People over 60 years of age lead active lifestyles; seniors' physical activity is sufficient. BMI and socio-demographic factors do not affect the physical activity of older people.
Conclusions: The level of physical activity among the elderly covered by the study is sufficient. Sociodemographic factors and BMI do not determine the level of physical activity in the study group
Model of physical self-development of girls - future officers in the physical education at the military academy
The conducted research was aimed at designing a model of physical self-development of girls - future officers, which occurs in the process of their physical education during training at the military academy. To achieve this goal, adequate research methods were used, preference was given to general scientific methods, in particular analysis and synthesis, systematization, generalization, and theoretical modeling. Sources of information were selected from scientometric databases Scopus, SPORT Discus, Web of Science, using keywords. The study of information from literary sources proved the formation of readiness of girls - future officers for physical self-development during training at the military academy at a level that differs from the appropriate one. This made it necessary to design an appropriate structural and functional model. Such a model combined methodological, organizational-methodical, functional, diagnostic and evaluation components and adequate pedagogical conditions, criteria, indicators and levels of readiness of girls - future officers for physical self-development during training at the military academy. The projected model is consistent with others available in pedagogical science, but requires experimental verification of its effectiveness in terms of achieving the set goal
Hypnotic suggestion for the treatment of tinnitus
Aim of study. Considering the high spreading of tinnitus in population, the purpose of our research was to study the possibility and expediency of using hypnosuggestive therapy in treatment of tinnitus.
Material and methods. The study included 55 people with tinnitus complaints. We divided three groups of patients depending on the severity of the manifestations, audiometry results, Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) score according to this scale of severity, results of GAD-7 test and the PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire -9). Results. In the first group of patients, according to the tinnitus severity scale the score was up to 19 points and was considered as insignificant and mild. The score of the GAD-7 questionnaire was less than 8 points, PHQ-9 - up to 5 points. In the second group the severity of tinnitus was moderate and severe and counted more than 38 points. The GAD-7 questionnaire score was less than 8 points, PHQ-9 - up to 5 points. In the third group, 12 people complained of chronic tinnitus, sleep disturbances, nervousness, and reduced work capacity. The score of tinnitus severity in patients of this group was more than 58 points and was assessed as severe and catastrophic. According to the results of the GAD-7 and PHQ-9 questionnaires, all 12 people were diagnosed with anxiety disorders and depression, two parients even had suicidal thoughts. In the third group of patients with +++ hypnotability, after ten sessions of individual hypno-suggestive therapy, it was possible to reduce the severity of tinnitus to the third moderate degree in 7 people. 4 patients reported about complete regress of tinnitus.
Conclusions. Tinnitus is a common problem and can negatively affect work, family and social life. It requires the individual approach and involvement of specialists of various profiles in the diagnostic process. The diagnostic algorithm for patients with tinnitus should include questionnaires to estimate the psychosomatic profile. The use of hypno-suggestive therapy can significantly reduce the severity of tinnitus and improve the quality of lives of patients

Marker Genes of Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma
An analysis was conducted on marker genes indicating the induction of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and their role in the pathogenesis of this oncological disease.
The diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for ccRCC are evolving with the identification of marker genes. The use of molecular biology methods has enabled the detection of somatic mutations in RCC marker genes like VHL, BAP1, OGG1, FLCN, MDM2, TP53, and RNF139. Targeted drugs like sorafenib, sunitinib, bevacizumab, pazopanib, axitinib, everolimus, and temsirolimus are being utilized in the treatment of RCC metastases. The diagnostic value of specific alleles in marker genes like rs1642742 and rs779805 of the VHL gene, rs1052133 of the OGG1 gene, rs2279744 of the MDM2 gene, and rs1597368777 of the TP53 gene has been confirmed in detecting ccRCC. Mutations in these marker genes play a significant role in the pathogenesis of ccRCC and are associated with the development and progression of the disease.
The identification of these mutations can aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of ccRCC.
Marker genes are essential in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying ccRCC. Mutations in genes like VHL, BAP1, OGG1, FLCN, MDM2, TP53, and RNF139 are key drivers of ccRCC pathogenesis. The diagnostic and therapeutic implications of these mutations are significant in the management of ccRCC. Further research into the role of marker genes in ccRCC is essential for developing targeted therapies and improving patient outcomes
