Frame-Based Representation of the Concept “Digital Economy” in the Russian-Language Discursive Practice
The article presents the primary structure of the concept "digital economy". The research material is comprised of lexical units and word combinations that verbalize this concept and are included in electronic dictionaries and scientific publications on the relevant topics, selected by the keyword method. Frame analysis clarified that the concept "digital economy" in its cognitive structure reflects a hierarchy of cognitive layers that includes artificial intelligence and data subframes, which are distributed into several interconnected slots, including development, information, ICT, technology. A number of typical thematic categories and morphological-and-syntactic constructions were revealed in the structure of the concept digital economy. The application of linguacultural approach resulted in the thematic categorization of units, which represent the concept under study. The linguistic and cognitive approach has enabled part-of-speech categorization of the concept representatives. It is revealed that thematically the concept "digital economy" is represented by the following categories: tools and means, processes, goods and services. By means of the morphological-and-syntactic categorization of the language units, the dominance of the "Adjective + Noun" model was identified, the attributes informational, digital, electronic are found to be most frequent; they reflect the processes and categories of digitalization and informatization in the modern linguistic world image
Linguistic Image of Russia in American Printed Media (Case-Study of Headline Complexes)
The paper presents a linguistic image of Russia as shown by the US printed media. The study was conducted with two interrelated and complementary methods: that of describing associative semantic field and that of investigating qualia-structure of the concept, based on the generative lexicon theory by J. Pusteiovsky. Both methods resulted in building a layered concept structure with a core, a transition zone and periphery. For the purpose of the study, a corpus containing 3636 collocates with "Russia" as the key word was derived from headline complexes of US printed media: The Washington post and the New York Times. The analysis of the structure and composition of the associative semantic field has enabled the author to confirm significant influence of extralinguistic factors on the construction of linguistic images. The study involved processing previously made corpus with corpus management software to provide numeric data on lexemes frequency. Associative semantic field revealed the newsworthy events that put Russia in focus in headlines complexes: President Election of 2016 and investigation of Russia's supposed involvement, intelligence services and related causes celebre, sanctions, armed conflicts, coronavirus spread and oil prices fluctuations. Qualia-structure semantic analysis brought forth the main frames in the Russia concept structure: Russia as an aggressive power, Russia as a counterpart, Russia as a partner, and Russia as a destination
Effect of natural surface-active substances on the rheological properties of emulsions
The effect of natural surface-active substances on the formation of emulsions in oils with different content of resin-asphaltene components (RAC) and paraffin hydrocarbons (PHC) (RAC/PHC from 0.7 to 95) is studied. The influence of oil composition and content of aqueous phase on microstructure, rheological properties, and activation energy of viscous flow of water-oil emulsions is shown. For oils with the ratio RAC/PHC < 1, the increase in water cut results in an increase in viscosity, activation energy of viscous flow, and pour point
Effect of mechanical activation on the composition if mineral components in humic acids isolated from carbons
It is shown that the mechanical activation of oxidized and brown coals is accompanied by an increase in the yield of humic acids and in their content of functional groups. It was demonstrated by atomic-emission spectroscopy that, under a high-intensity mechanical treatment, mineral elements are redistributed in the coal substance and incorporated into the structure of humic acids

CHREMATONYMS IN THE PROFESSIONAL DISCOURSE OF THE NUCLEAR AND SPACE INDUSTRY
The article focuses on studying chrematonyms in nuclear and space industry professional discourse.
The analysis of 734 Russian, English, Italian, French, German, Polish and Japanese lexemes nominating spacecraft,
spaceships, nuclear reactors and nuclear research facilities resulted in discovering three common ways in the process
of generating and functioning of chrematonyms in the professional discourse, including a lexico-semantic nomination
(formed by means of onimization of appellatives, transonymization of personal and precedent names, toponyms,
chrematonyms and cosmonims, deonimization); the word-formation considers the sound, syllabic and mixed
abbreviation, as well as the formation of compound words; the syntactic method involves the formation of simple and
complex substantive combinations of words. The authors conclude that chrematonyms as a class of onims have a
specific linguistic meaning, affecting the semantic generation of the proper name in an inanimate object of material
culture and emphasizing the unique and differential feature of the object and point to their specifically professional
linguistic feature: motivation, derivative character, terminological unity, and frequency of usage. The research
demonstrates the following special aspects of functioning of chrematonyms in the professional discourse: play on
words, allusions and metaphors, ameliorative and deteriorative connotative meanings, which reflect non-typical
processes for professional lexis and perform a peace-maintaining function of the language
Public diplomacy in language education during the COVID-19 pandemic
The pandemic has had a considerable impact on all spheres of life. Likewise, it has affected all levels of education changing conventional interaction patterns. The new format of learning influenced the motivation on the whole and its components in particular. The paper presents results of the survey conducted among students of Linguistics that contains self-assessment of motivation for FL learning in general and at the time of pandemic during distance learning. The reported overwhelming opinion concerning the lack of proper communication in the new settings along with an overall decline in all types of motivation is forcing the faculty to look for new ways of encouraging language learning and compensate for the absence of face-to-face classes. In solving this problem, the resources of public diplomacy appeared to be a very helpful tool. The paper explores changes in the language learning process both from the teachers’ and
students’ standpoint. It also gives a comparative overview of motivation types in conventional learning settings and distance-learning ones. The authors focus on the potential benefits of public diplomacy contacts in language learning
Andragogical principles in teaching professional foreign languages: challenges and perspectives
The research shares the experience of the Vladimir branch of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in applying the andragogical principles in distance learning and teaching a professional foreign language for part-time and night school students. The research is aimed at considering the specific social and psychological features with a different nature of goal-setting, learning process and its outcomes in the adult student environment which are likely to cause the barriers, as well as the ways to reduce them during the pandemic of COVID-19 and an overall switch to distance learning. The subject matter is focused on the specific obstacles which prevent adult students from successful building of language skills. The research methods include monitoring, interviewing and content analysis. The outcomes showed that the andragogical principles of the adult students, including a student-oriented motivation, focus on personal individualization, mutual interactive activity with the teacher, immediate implementation of learning outcomes, might be available to eliminate the barriers and shift the focus to practical ways of learning and teaching a professional foreign language. The outcomes of the research have practical use in arranging online learning of part-time and night school students in the Vladimir branch of Financial University. The experience is recommended to be considered for the adult target audience to enhance their motivation for building professional foreign language skills
Integrated simulation of bio positive environment in a large city through the reconstruction of its recreational areas
In the presented article, the concept of “bio-positivity” is considered as a way of returning the natural habitat to largest cities. The problem of the aesthetic unattractiveness in modern cities, the causes and consequences of rational construction without taking into account the ecological component is outlined. Various solution methods for the natural environment restoration in large cities have been proposed. Environmental friendliness and focus on preserving the environment are highlighted as the main criteria
