Losing Intangible Heritage under the Preservation Projects of Tangible Heritage
On the basis of fully understanding the connotation and characteristics of intangible cultural heritage, this paper combed the preservation work of the Yangliuqing Town which is the National Historical Cultural Town in Tianjin, China. The author finds that preservation work had always focused on the tangible culture. And under these preservation planning, some historical sites are restored properly. And some construction improves the people's living condition. But during this process, some construction destroys the human environment inadvertently, and the development of the Lunar New Year Paintings industry also hits a bottleneck, leading to the decline of the characteristic of the “New Year pictures Town”. Based on this problem, this paper puts forward the suggestions such as enriching the theme of Lunar New Year Paintings and enacting preferential tax policies
Reaching the last mile: best practices in leveraging the power of ICTs to communicate climate services to farmers at scale
This report reviews key ICTs for Development (ICT4D) Programs, Innovations and
Information Exchange Platforms which are experimented within South Asia to
explore the use and scale-ability of these innovative approaches to other parts of
Africa and the developing world. Learning from the pioneering experiences of pilot
projects across India and Africa in ICT development, we assess the potential ICTs
offer to not only communicate climate information and related advisory services but
also to build capacity and increase the resilience of rural smallholders. It is our hope
that such South-South learning can pave the way for improved cross-regional
experience sharing to tackle common challenges in reaching ‘the last mile’ with
salient rural extension services, including climate information services
-Puzzle: A Cost-Efficient Testbed for Benchmarking Reinforcement Learning Algorithms in Generative Language Model
Recent advances in reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms aim to enhance the
performance of language models at scale. Yet, there is a noticeable absence of
a cost-effective and standardized testbed tailored to evaluating and comparing
these algorithms. To bridge this gap, we present a generalized version of the
24-Puzzle: the -Puzzle, which challenges language models to reach a
target value with integers. We evaluate the effectiveness of
established RL algorithms such as Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO), alongside
novel approaches like Identity Policy Optimization (IPO) and Direct Policy

Arabidopsis Cell Division Cycle 20.1 Is Required for Normal Meiotic Spindle Assembly and Chromosome Segregation
Cell division requires proper spindle assembly; a surveillance pathway, the spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC), monitors whether the spindle is normal and correctly attached to kinetochores. The SAC proteins regulate mitotic chromosome segregation by affecting CDC20 (Cell Division Cycle 20) function. However, it is unclear whether CDC20 regulates meiotic spindle assembly and proper homolog segregation. Here, we show that the Arabidopsis thaliana CDC20.1 gene is indispensable for meiosis and male fertility. We demonstrate that cdc20.1 meiotic chromosomes align asynchronously and segregate unequally and the metaphase I spindle has aberrant morphology. Comparison of the distribution of meiotic stages at different time points between the wild type and cdc20.1 reveals a delay of meiotic progression from diakinesis to anaphase I. Furthermore, cdc20.1 meiocytes exhibit an abnormal distribution of a histone H3 phosphorylation mark mediated by the Aurora kinase, providing evidence that CDC20.1 regulates Aurora localization for meiotic chromosome segregation. Further evidence that CDC20.1 and Aurora are functionally related was provided by meiosis-specific knockdown of At-Aurora1 expression, resulting in meiotic chromosome segregation defects similar to those of cdc20.1. Taken together, these results suggest a critical role for CDC20.1 in SAC-dependent meiotic chromosome segregation
Control of Hopf Bifurcation in Autonomous System Based on Washout Filter
In order to further understand a Lorenz-like system, we study the stability of the equilibrium points and the existence of Hopf bifurcation by center manifold theorem and normal form theory. More precisely, we designed a washout controller such that the equilibrium E0 undergoes a controllable Hopf bifurcation, and by adjusting the controller parameters, we delayed Hopf bifurcation phenomenon of the equilibrium E+. Besides, numerical simulation is given to illustrate the theoretical analysis. Finally, two possible electronic circuits are given to realize the uncontrolled and the controlled systems

Transcription factor-pathway co-expression analysis reveals cooperation between SP1 and ESR1 on dysregulating cell cycle arrest in non-hyperdiploid multiple myeloma
Multiple myeloma is a hematological cancer of plasma B-cells and remains incurable. Two major subtypes of myeloma, hyperdiploid (HMM) and non-hyperdiploid myeloma (NHMM), have distinct chromosomal alterations and different survival outcomes. Transcription factors (TrFs) have been implicated in myeloma oncogenesis but their dysregulation in myeloma subtypes are less studied. Here we develop a TrF-pathway co-expression analysis to identify altered co-expression between two sample types. We apply the method to the two myeloma subtypes and the cell cycle arrest pathway, which is significantly differentially expressed between the two subtypes. We find that TrFs MYC, NF-κB and HOXA9 have significantly lower co-expression with cell cycle arrest in HMM, co-occurring with their over-activation in HMM. In contrast, TrFs ESR1, SP1 and E2F1 have significantly lower co-expression with cell cycle arrest in NHMM. SP1 ChIP targets are enriched by cell cycle arrest genes. These results motivate a cooperation model of ESR1 and SP1 in regulating cell cycle arrest, and a hypothesis that their over-activation in NHMM disrupts proper regulation of cell cycle arrest. Co-targeting ESR1 and SP1 shows a synergistic effect on inhibiting myeloma proliferation in NHMM cell lines. Therefore, studying TrF-pathway co-expression dysregulation in human cancers facilitates forming novel hypotheses towards clinical utility

Classify Hyperdiploidy Status of Multiple Myeloma Patients Using Gene Expression Profiles
Multiple myeloma (MM) is a cancer of antibody-making plasma cells. It frequently harbors alterations in DNA and chromosome copy numbers, and can be divided into two major subtypes, hyperdiploid (HMM) and non-hyperdiploid multiple myeloma (NHMM). The two subtypes have different survival prognosis, possibly due to different but converging paths to oncogenesis. Existing methods for identifying the two subtypes are fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and copy number microarrays, with increased cost and sample requirements. We hypothesize that chromosome alterations have their imprint in gene expression through dosage effect. Using five MM expression datasets that have HMM status measured by FISH and copy number microarrays, we have developed and validated a K-nearest-neighbor method to classify MM into HMM and NHMM based on gene expression profiles. Classification accuracy for test datasets ranges from 0.83 to 0.88. This classification will enable researchers to study differences and commonalities of the two MM subtypes in disease biology and prognosis using expression datasets without need for additional subtype measurements. Our study also supports the advantages of using cancer specific characteristics in feature design and pooling multiple rounds of classification results to improve accuracy. Interactions between halotolerant nitrogen-fixing bacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi under saline stress
Background and aimsSoil salinity negatively affects crop development. Halotolerant nitrogen-fixing bacteria (HNFB) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are essential microorganisms that enhance crop nutrient availability and salt tolerance in saline soils. Studying the impact of HNFB on AMF communities and using HNFB in biofertilizers can help in selecting the optimal HNFB-AMF combinations to improve crop productivity in saline soils.MethodsWe established three experimental groups comprising apple plants treated with low-nitrogen (0 mg N/kg, N0), normal-nitrogen (200 mg N/kg, N1), and high-nitrogen (300 mg N/kg, N2) fertilizer under salt stress without bacteria (CK, with the addition of 1,500 mL sterile water +2 g sterile diatomite), or with bacteria [BIO, with the addition of 1,500 mL sterile water +2 g mixed bacterial preparation (including Bacillus subtilis HG-15 and Bacillus velezensis JC-K3)].ResultsHNFB inoculation significantly increased microbial biomass and the relative abundance of beta-glucosidase-related genes in the rhizosphere soil under identical nitrogen application levels (p < 0.05). High-nitrogen treatment significantly reduced AMF diversity and the relative abundance of beta-glucosidase, acid phosphatase, and urea-related genes. A two-way analysis of variance showed that combined nitrogen application and HNFB treatment could significantly affect soil physicochemical properties and rhizosphere AMF abundance (p < 0.05). Specifically, HNFB application resulted in a significantly higher relative abundance of Glomus-MO-G17-VTX00114 compared to that in the CK group at equal nitrogen levels.ConclusionThe impact of HNFB on the AMF community in apple rhizospheres is influenced by soil nitrogen levels. The study reveals how varying nitrogen levels mediate the relationship between exogenous HNFB, soil properties, and rhizosphere microbes
Periodontal health: A national cross‐sectional study of knowledge, attitudes and practices for the public oral health strategy in China
Aim
To assess the status of periodontal health knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) among Chinese adults.
Materials and Methods
A cross‐sectional study was conducted in a nationally representative sample of adults (N = 50,991) aged 20 years or older from ten provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. Percentages of Chinese adults with correct periodontal knowledge, positive periodontal attitudes, and practices were estimated. Multiple logistic regression analyses were used to examine the related factors.
Results
Less than 20% of Chinese adults were knowledgeable about periodontal disease. Very few (2.6%) of Chinese adults use dental floss ≥once a day and undergo scaling ≥once a year and visit a dentist (6.4%) in the case of gingival bleeding. Periodontal health KAP was associated with gender, age, body mass index, marital status, place of residence, education level, income, smoking status, and history of periodontal disease.
Conclusions
Periodontal health KAP are generally poor among the Chinese adult population. Community‐based health strategies to improve periodontal health KAP need to be implemented. Increasing knowledge of periodontal disease, the cultivation of correct practices in response to gingival bleeding, and the development of good habits concerning the use of dental floss and regular scaling should be public oral health priorities
