Calculation of allowable orbital spacings for the fixed-satellite service
Minimum satellite separations are calculated which satisfy a given carrier-to-interference protection ratio for the Fixed-Satellite Service (FSS) on a single-entry basis, assuming circular antenna beams. The results are presented in the form of universal contour curves, in which antenna-centered angles are the coordinates, and also in terms of the more conventional longitude and latitude separations. It is shown that orbit capacity increases with decreasing service-area size and that, for practical service areas, capacity is increased if the longitude of a satellite does not differ too greatly from that of the service area it serves
Image correlators using optical memory disks
Image correlators are described and experimentally demonstrated that are implemented using optical memory disks to store a large library of reference images
Optical memory disks in optical information processing
We describe the use of optical memory disks as elements in optical information processing architectures. The optical disk is an optical memory devicew ith a storage capacity approaching 1010b its which is naturally suited to parallel access. We discuss optical disk characteristics which are important in optical computing systems such as contrast, diffraction efficiency, and phase uniformity. We describe techniques for holographic storage on optical disks and present reconstructions of several types of computer-generated holograms. Various optical information processing architectures are described for applications such as database retrieval, neural network implementation, and image correlation. Selected systems are experimentally demonstrated
Two Contrastive Boson-Pair Coherent States in Deformed Boson Scheme
Two types of boson-pair coherent states, which were proposed independently by
the present authors, are investigated. Main conclusion is as follows : Although
the two states are superposed contrastively in terms of the boson-pairs, the
expectation values of the boson-pair operators for these states are the same as
one another with high accuracy.Comment: 8 pages, no figure, using PTPTeX styl
Deformed Boson Scheme in Time-Dependent Variational Method. II
In this paper as a continuation of Part I, the case of two kinds of boson
operators is treated. The deformation of the coherent states for the su(2)- and
the su(1,1)-algebra and their related deformed algebras are discussed in
various forms including the most popular form.Comment: 20 pages, no figure, using PTPTeX.st
Deformed Boson Scheme in Time-Dependent Variational Method. I
Various aspects of the deformed boson scheme are investigated with aiming of
applying to the time-dependent variational method for many-boson system. The
case of the multiboson states is also discussed. In analogy with the
time-dependent Hartree-Fock theory in many-fermion system, the classical aspect
of the deformed boson is discussed.Comment: 15 pages, no figure, using PTPTeX.st
