The information about the two independent agencies providing assessment ofeducation quality – AERES and CTI is presented. The results of comparative analysis of Russian and French quality assurance systems in education are discussed with the aim to study the possibility of foreign experience transformation into the practice of Russian universities

Приведены данные о структуре и количестве вузов Франции, выявлены особенности обучения в различных типах учебных заведений. Определены основные направления и национальные особенности модернизации системы высшего профессионального образования в контексте Болонского процесса. Уделено внимание проблемам перехода французских вузов на автономию и проведения оценки качества высших учебных заведений.The article deals with the main features of the higher professional educational system in France. The authors discussed the data about the structure and number of the universities in France and revealed the specificity of the teaching in the different types of the educational organizations. The authors identified the main directions and national distinctive features of the educational system modernization in the context of the Bologna process.
