Confinement and Quantization Effects in Mesoscopic Superconducting Structures
We have studied quantization and confinement effects in nanostructured
superconductors. Three different types of nanostructured samples were
investigated: individual structures (line, loop, dot), 1-dimensional (1D)
clusters of loops and 2D clusters of antidots, and finally large lattices of
antidots. Hereby, a crossover from individual elementary "plaquettes", via
clusters, to huge arrays of these elements, is realized. The main idea of our
study was to vary the boundary conditions for confinement of the
superconducting condensate by taking samples of different topology and, through
that, modifying the lowest Landau level E_LLL(H). Since the critical
temperature versus applied magnetic field T_c(H) is, in fact, E_LLL(H) measured
in temperature units, it is varied as well when the sample topology is changed
through nanostructuring. We demonstrate that in all studied nanostructured
superconductors the shape of the T_c(H) phase boundary is determined by the

The 2018 revision of the standard IEC 61400-24 : lightning protection of wind turbines
The first edition of the standard IEC 61400-24, Wind Generator Systems-Part 24 Lightning Protection, was issued in June 2010, and the scope was to reflect the experiences and technical understanding of lightning protection of wind turbines by manufacturers, certification organizations, research institutes and universities. It presented background statistical information on lightning damage to wind turbines, and it provided guidance on lightning protection best practices. Since then, the wind power industry has further developed towards even larger onshore and offshore wind turbines and into a mature industry. This is the background for the current draft of the 2018 revision of the IEC 61400-24, which transforms the 2010 edition into an evolution of the previous issued standard based on improved technical experience and expertise.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

Como complemento á un trabajo publicado en esta revista sobre la leche, en su relación con la alimentación artificial en las criaturas y la ímportancia de la muestra media para el análisis, completamos aquel trabajo, que hemos presentado al último Congreso Médico que tuvo lugar en Buenos Aires el año pasado, con una serie de análisis de varias vacas del Parque de Zootecnia de nuestra Facultad, análisis que hemos efectuado para demostrar un hecho que es normal en la función orgánica de las mamas, pero que se olvida generalmente en la práctica diaria, sobre todo en las muestras destinadas para el análisis químico, como ya lo hacíamos notar en aquel trabajo.Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias y Forestale
