Site-specific Modification Of De Novo Designed Coiled-coil Polypeptides With Inorganic Redox Complexes
A stepwise procedure for preparing of site-specific binuclear metallopeptides is described. The modification procedure involves the alkylation of a cysteine side chain by reaction with [Ru(bpy)(2)(phen-ClA)](2+), where bpy = 2,2\u27-bipyridine and phen-ClA = 5-chloroacetaniido-1,10-phenanthroline, followed by the coordination of a ruthenium pentammine complex to a histidine residue located elsewhere along the sequence. The apo and metalated versions of the peptides C10H21(30-mer) and H10C21(30-mer) display circular dichroism spectra having minima at 208 and 222 nm, with theta(222)/theta(208) = 1.04 to indicate that these peptides exist as a-helical coiled-coils in aqueous solution. When the ruthenium polypyridyl complex is attached to C10H21(30-mer), the Delta-l and Lambda-l diastereomers of the resulting metallopeptide can be readily separated from each other by reversed-phase HPLC. However, in the case of the related H10C21(30-mer) metallopeptide, the two diastereomers cannot be chromatographically resolved. These results indicate how the subtle interplay between peptide conformation/sequence and metal complex geometry may alter some of the physical characteristics of metallopeptides
Structural and topological analysis of electric energy consumption of municipalities as the basis for the development of the regional energy efficiency strategy
The amplifying polarization of the development of municipalities, the concentration of megalopolises' development possibilities and the decrease of potential of the development of small territories make it urgent to create tools for monitoring, estimating and forecasting of the electric energy consumption in order to develop the regional energy efficiency strategy, which will facilitate the sustainable development of municipalities. The paper gives the authors' definition of the energy efficiency of municipal units as the degree of real electric energy consumption compliance with the indicators of efficient energy consumption, along with providing comfortable habitation for the residents. The target indicators of municipal units' energy efficiency can be achieved by the efficient consumption and usage of electric energy. The authors carried out structural and topological analysis of electric energy consumption municipal units of the region, based on the sustainable development methodology. The formulated S-distributions of electric energy consumption of municipal units revealed a self-organization regularities in the region, which were reflected in municipal units' three-zone rating, formulated in accordance with electric energy consumption intensity. The results of the structural and topological analysis of electric energy consumption in absolute indicators and competitive speed indexes (intensity of electric energy consumption) are the basis for electric energy consumption forecasting of the region, as an integral structure formed by municipal units. © 2014 WIT Press.International Journal of Safety and Security Engineering;International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning;WIT Transactions on Ecology and the Environmen
Toxic organizational environment on the Italian and Russian enterprises: an inter-country comparison
The concept of the organizational toxicity, which is considered by authors to be the phenomena of social pollution, is based on the study and synthesis of research results on the destructive aspects of the culture and working environment inside the organization. Toxic elements of the organizational environment have a negative impact on employees and cause a deterioration in their health and well-being that ultimately leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the use of human resources, in particular, and financial losses as a whole. Thus, there is underestimated the social aspect of a negative impact of the organization's economic activities on psychosocial health at work. The given research deals with the issue of the organizational toxicity, ex- pressed in reducing the level of well-being and deterioration of physical and psychosocial health of workers caused by the economic activities of the company. The theoretical study has allowed us to formulate hypoth- eses about the toxic management practices and their negative impact on workers’ psychosocial health. An empirical study conducted by the authors in comparison between Russian and Italian companies has permit- ted to verify the given hypotheses: to examine in detail the nature of the organizational toxicity and to identify toxic elements of the socio-labour relations in the company. An important feature of the current research is studying the toxic elements of working environment from the employers and employees points of view. The comparative studies possess an increasingly important cognitive function in the development of theories of labour and the science of management, as well as their practical applications. Inter-country comparisons allow us to approach the problem from a more common position, to the disclosure mechanisms of action, as well as forms of manifestation of separate regularities in various socio-economic systems
Photoinduced Electron-transfer Along Alpha-helical And Coiled-coil Metallopeptides
A peptide-based electron-transfer system has been designed in which the specific positions of redox-active metal complexes appended to either an a-helix, or an a-helical coiled-coil, can be reversed to test the effect of the helix dipole in controlling photoinduced electron-transfer rates. Two 30-residue apopeptides were prepared having the following sequences: (1) Ac-K-(IEALEGK)(ICALEGK)(IEALEHK)-(IEALEGK)-G-amide, and (II) Ac-K-(IEALEGK)(IHALEGK)-(IEALECK)(IEALEGK)-G-amide. Each apopeptide was reacted first with [Ru(bpy)(2)(phen-ClAc)](2+), where bpy = 2,2\u27-bipyridine and phen-ClAc = 5-chloroacetamido-1,10-phenanthroline, to attach the ruthenium polypyridyl center to the cysteine side-chain of the polypeptide. The isolated products were then reacted with [Ru(NH3)(5)(H2O)](2+) to yield the binuclear electron-transfer metallopeptides ET-I and ET-II. In these systems, electron-transfer occurred from the photoexcited ruthenium polypyridyl donor to the pentammine ruthenium (111) acceptor such that the electron-transfer occurred toward the negative end of the helix dipole in ET-I, and toward the positive end in ET-II. Circular dichroism spectroscopy showed that both peptides exist as dimeric alpha-helical coiled-coils in 100 mM phosphate buffer at pH 7, and as monomeric a-helices in the lower dielectric solvents 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, and a 1:1 (v/v) mixture of CH2Cl2 and 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol. The peptides were predominately (i.e., 65-72%) alpha-helical in these solvents. The emission lifetime behavior of ET-I was seen to be identical to that of ET-II in each of the three solvents: no evidence for directional electron-transfer rates was observed. Authors consider architectural and planning decisions, reconstruction questions, condition of hospital today. During reconstruction the 120 beds hospital turned into clinic on 250 visits, its operation doesn’t stop and today.Статья посвящена истории одного из первых уральских лечебных учреждений — Демидовскому заводскому госпиталю. Авторы рассматривают архитектурно-планировочные решения, вопросы реконструкции, состояние госпиталя на сегодняшний день. В ходе реконструкции госпиталь на 120 коек превратился в поликлинику на 250 посещений, его эксплуатация не прекращается и сегодня
Pedagogical professional self-determination support for students under conditions of additional education program implementation

Object of the article is to work out and prove theoretically the subjective-developing support system of professional self-determination among teacher-training university students in the condition of additional education program implementation. Main research approaches to the problem are subjective and pragmatic approaches, that let us see a personality not as a selection of objective characteristics in the space of diagnostic criteria, but as a carrier of a certain world view, as a complex of individual values and points. Structure of the represented subject-developing system of professional self-determination support for students of teacher-training university includes interdependent components, that help detect hidden potential and make it active – diagnosing, motivational, organizational, informative, reflexive. Subject-developing system is meant to improve level of students’ professional self-determination, which influences such characteristics as personal activity and responsibility, graduates’ competitiveness level in the labor market in a good way

From a forecasting methodology for the electric energy consumption of mono-towns to its sustainability
The need of Russia for a resource-innovative energy strategy for the period up to 2035 makes it urgent to create a methodology of strategic forecasting for the electric energy consumption of mono-towns, which will result in the efficient development of a power supply system, ensuring territories’ sustainability. For this purpose, it is necessary to consider a mono-town as a complete system, a living organism with a definite life cycle and structure of energy consumers. The authors offer a technocoenosis approach to carry out the ranking and structural analysis of the electric energy consumption of one of the Sverdlovsk region’s mono-towns, taking into account dynamics in population, enterprises, organizations and institutions for the period of 5 years. The provided analysis makes it possible to judge the technocoenosis optimality using characteristic exponent β, depending on the structural features of the territory. The authors developed an algorithm for electric energy consumption forecasting, based on Support Vector Machines (SVM), which takes into account the electric energy of mono-towns’ consumers and the climatic factors. Forecasting accuracy was achieved using cross-validation of the input data in order to optimize the training model. The corresponding changes in electric energy consumption, when a characteristic exponent is optimal, will result in a target forecast that provides the sustainable development of mono-towns. © 2014 WIT Press.International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning;WIT Transactions on Ecology and the Environmen

ІННОВАЦІЙНО-ІНВЕСТИЦІЙНИЙ РОЗВИТОК ПРОМИСЛОВОСТІ УКРАЇНИ
Modern researches of technological development of Ukraine testify to the further development of the domestic economy in line with the export-raw material model, there is an interruption of the technological chain in the cycle of metallurgical and machine-building production, which leads to ineffective use of the country's raw stock. The increase in production based on natural resources leads to a declining return, and therefore to the depletion of the country as a whole. Historical and contemporary world practice proves that a country can solve the problems of economic backwardness only through the industrialization and protection of new productions. The development of production of higher technological facilities is impossible without the support of the state. Starting points of innovation and investment growth in Ukraine can be merged with a vertical inert. The modern global economic space is built on integration structures. For Ukraine, the largest integration structures with the maximum synergy effect can be renewed industrial-financial groups, whose participants will be associated with technological chains, industrial enterprises and banking structures.Proceeding from the specifics of the domestic economy, which is based on the metallurgical complex, we consider the expedient transition to an increase in the production of metal-wares of machine-building products. Focusing on the development of the domestic market through investment support for the machine-building industry means for Ukraine a unique opportunity to provide the economy with systemic, balanced, synergistic and socially oriented character. Continued basic technological chains through the active involvement of machine-building enterprises in industrial and financial groups with metallurgical production with the support of participating banks will allow to obtain economic effects at macro and micro levels, and these groups will define as «growth points» of innovation and investment upsurge in the country. The components of synergistic effect are investigated, namely switching, operational, managerial, investment and innovative synergetic effects taking place in industrial-financial groups with vertical integration.Современные исследования технологического развития Украины свидетельствуют о дальнейшем развитии отечественной экономики в русле экспортно-сырьевой модели, наблюдается прерывание технологической цепочки в цикле металлургическое-машиностроительное производство, что приводит к неэффективному использованию сырьевого запаса страны. Увеличение производства, основанного на природных ресурсах, ведет к убывающей отдачи и поэтому к обеднению страны в целом. История и современная мировая практика свидетельствует о том, что страна может решить проблемы экономического отставания только путем индустриализации и защиты новых производств. Развитие производств более высоких технологических укладов невозможно без поддержки государства. Отправными точками инновационного и инвестиционного роста в Украине могут стать объединения с вертикальной интеграцией. Подобные объединения являются каркасом мировой экономики. Для Украины крупнейшими интеграционными структурами с максимальным синергетическим эффектом могут стать обновленные промышленно-финансовые группы, участники которых являются связанные между собою технологическими цепочками промышленные предприятия и банковские структуры.Исходя из специфики отечественной экономики, опирающейся на металлургический комплекс, считаем целесообразным переход к увеличению производства металлоемкой машиностроительной продукции. Сосредоточение на развитии внутреннего рынка путем инвестиционной поддержки машиностроительной отрасли означает для Украины уникальную возможность предоставить экономике системность, сбалансированность, синергию и социально ориентированный характер. Продолжение базовых технологических цепочек путем активного вовлечения машиностроительных предприятий в состав промышленно-финансовых групп с металлургическим производством при поддержке банков-участников позволит получать экономические эффекты на макро- и микроуровне, а такие группы определять как "точки роста" инновационного и инвестиционного подъема в стране. Исследовано составляющие синергетического эффекта, а именно коммутационный, операционный, управленческий, инвестиционный и инновационный синергетические эффекты, имеющие место в промышленно-финансовых группах с вертикальной интеграцией.Сучасні дослідження технологічного розвитку України свідчать про подальший розвиток вітчизняної економіки в руслі експортно-сировинної моделі, спостерігається переривання технологічного ланцюжка у циклі металургійно-машинобудівного виробництва, що призводить до неефективного використання сировинного запасу країни. Збільшення виробництва, що засновано на природних ресурсах, веде до спадаючої віддачі і тому до збіднення країни в цілому. Історична та сучасна світова практика доводить, що країна може вирішити проблеми економічної відсталості лише шляхом індустріалізації та захисту нових виробництв. Розвиток виробництв більш високих технологічних укладів неможливий без підтримки держави. Відправними точками інноваційного та інвестиційного зростання в Україні можуть стати об’єднання з вертикальною інтеграцією. Сучасний глобальний економічний простір побудовано на інтеграційних структурах. Для України найбільшими інтеграційними структурами з максимальним синергетичним ефектом можуть бути оновлені промислово-фінансові групи, учасниками яких будуть пов'язані технологічними ланцюжками промислові підприємства та банківські структури.Виходячи зі специфіки вітчизняної економіки, яка спирається на металургійний комплекс, вважаємо за доцільне перехід до збільшення виробництва металоємкої машинобудівної продукції.
