Clarifying the generic limits of Talbotiella and Hymenostegia (Detarieae, Caesalpinioideae, Leguminosae)
The formal description of four species of Cameroonian forest legume trees new to science has been hampered by uncertainty as to whether their correct generic placement is within Hymenostegia Harms or Talbotiella Baker f. As there has been doubt as to whether these two genera differ from one another, an investigation was undertaken so that the new species could be correctly assigned to genus. Using morphological, molecular and pollen data, our study supports the recognition of Hymenostegia and Talbotiella as distinct genera, consequently the new species are correctly placed in Talbotiella. In addition, our data reveal the extensive heterogeneous nature of Hymenostegia as currently circumscribed and the need to transfer H. breteleri to Talbotiella
Origins of Chevron Rollovers in Non-Two-State Protein Folding Kinetics
Chevron rollovers of some proteins imply that their logarithmic folding rates
are nonlinear in native stability. This is predicted by lattice and continuum
G\=o models to arise from diminished accessibilities of the ground state from
transiently populated compact conformations under strongly native conditions.
Despite these models' native-centric interactions, the slowdown is due partly
to kinetic trapping caused by some of the folding intermediates' nonnative
topologies. Notably, simple two-state folding kinetics of small single-domain

Constraints on Off-Axis GRB Jets in Type Ibc Supernovae From Late-Time Radio Observations
It has been suggested that the peculiar properties of the luminous Type Ic
supernova SN 1998bw and its low-energy gamma-ray burst GRB 980425 may be
understood if they originated in a standard gamma-ray burst explosion viewed
far from the axis of the relativistic jet. In this scenario, strong radio
emission is predicted from the jet on a timescale 1 to 10 years after the
explosion as it decelerates and spreads into our line of sight. To test this
hypothesis we have carried out late-time radio observations of SN 1998bw at
years, yielding upper limits which are consistent with the continued
fading of the supernova. We find these limits to be consistent with an off-axis
jet only if the progenitor mass loss rate is
M yr (for a wind velocity km s) or the
fraction of the shock energy in magnetic fields is . These values are low relative to those inferred for cosmological
GRBs. We combine the SN 1998bw measurements with existing observations for a
sample of 15 local Type Ibc supernovae to estimate that at most 6% produce

Dietary Diversity in Cambodian Garment Workers: The Role of Free Lunch Provision
The objective of this paper is to compare food consumption by Cambodian garment workers with and without access to a free model lunch provision through a factory-based canteen. Data from an exploratory randomised controlled trial were analysed. In total, 223 female Cambodian garment workers were allocated to an intervention arm (six-month lunch provision) or a control arm. Dietary intake on workdays was assessed by qualitative 24-h recalls at baseline and twice at follow-ups during the period of lunch provision using the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) guideline on assessing womenÂŽs dietary diversity. In total, 158 participants provided complete data on the dietary intake over workdays at all interviews. Lunch provision resulted in a more frequent consumption of dark green leafy vegetables (DGLV), vitamin A-rich fruits, other fruits, and oils and fats during lunch breaks. In contrast, flesh meats, legumes, nuts and seeds, as well as sweets, were eaten at a lower frequency. Except for a higher consumption rate of vitamin A-rich fruits and a lower intake frequency of sweets, lunch provision had a less clear impact on total 24-h intake from different food groups and was not associated with a higher womenÂŽs dietary diversity score (WDDS). A more gap-oriented design of the lunch sets taking into account underutilised foods and the nutritional status of the workers is recommended
A year in the life of GW170817: the rise and fall of a structured jet from a binary neutron star merger
We present the results of our year-long afterglow monitoring of GW170817, the
first binary neutron star (NS) merger detected by advanced LIGO and advanced
Virgo. New observations with the Australian Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) and
the Chandra X-ray Telescope were used to constrain its late-time behavior. The
broadband emission, from radio to X-rays, is well-described by a simple
power-law spectrum with index ~0.585 at all epochs. After an initial shallow
rise ~t^0.9, the afterglow displayed a smooth turn-over, reaching a peak X-ray
luminosity of ~5e39 erg/s at 160 d, and has now entered a phase of rapid
decline ~t^(-2). The latest temporal trend challenges most models of choked
jet/cocoon systems, and is instead consistent with the emergence of a
relativistic structured jet seen at an angle of ~22 deg from its axis. Within
such model, the properties of the explosion (such as its blastwave energy
E_K~2E50 erg, jet width theta_c~4 deg, and ambient density n~3E-3 cm^(-3)) fit

HI Emission and Absorption in the Southern Galactic Plane Survey
We present preliminary results from the Southern Galactic Plane Survey (SGPS)
Test Region and Parkes data. As part of the pilot project for the Southern
Galactic Plane Survey, observations of a Test Region (325.5 deg < l < 333.5
deg; -0.5 deg < b < 3.5 deg) were completed in December 1998. Single dish
observations of the full survey region (253 deg < l < 358 deg; |b| <1 deg) with
the Parkes Radio Telescope were completed in March 2000. We present a sample of
SGPS HI data with particular attention to the smallest and largest scale
structures seen in absorption and emission, respectively. On the large scale,
we detect many prominent HI shells. On the small scale, we note extremely
compact, cold clouds seen in HI self-absorption. We explore how these two
classes of objects probe opposite ends of the HI spatial power spectrum.Comment: 9 pages, 3 embedded postscript & 4 jpeg figures. Presented at the
