Since the pandemic, there has been widespread increased concern about children's spiritual well-being.
[The pandemic] is a once in a generation opportunity to transform the wider education system around the child so that wellbeing is truly at the heart of the learning environment in schools. (Barnardo’s, 2020)

We know from previous NICER research , conducted before the pandemic that there is a need to pay attention to and nurture the spirituality of children for them to flourish. We also know that many adults have limited awareness of the importance of this nurture and do not fully appreciate what children need to flourish spiritually. Research has shown that Faith communities have the potential to be a vital source of a sense of belonging and support for the spiritual nurture of children and adults. We identified a need to research children's understanding of what contributes to their spiritual well-being within the church school community context

Structural and functional conservation of the human homolog of the Schizosaccharomyces pombe rad2 gene, which is required for chromosome segregation and recovery from DNA damage
The rad2 mutant of Schizosaccharomyces pombe is sensitive to UV irradiation and deficient in the repair of UV damage. In addition, it has a very high degree of chromosome loss and/or nondisjunction. We have cloned the rad2 gene and have shown it to be a member of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae RAD2/S. pombe rad13/human XPG family. Using degenerate PCR, we have cloned the human homolog of the rad2 gene. Human cDNA has 55% amino acid sequence identity to the rad2 gene and is able to complement the UV sensitivity of the rad2 null mutant. We have thus isolated a novel human gene which is likely to be involved both in controlling the fidelity of chromosome segregation and in the repair of UV-induced DNA damage. Its involvement in two fundamental processes for maintaining chromosomal integrity suggests that it is likely to be an important component of cancer avoidance mechanisms
Finite size effects in perturbed boundary conformal field theories
We discuss the finite-size properties of a simple integrable quantum field
theory in 1+1 dimensions with non-trivial boundary conditions. Novel
off-critical identities between cylinder partition functions of models with

Non-nequilibrium model on Apollonian networks
We investigate the Majority-Vote Model with two states () and a noise
on Apollonian networks. The main result found here is the presence of the
phase transition as a function of the noise parameter . We also studies de
effect of redirecting a fraction of the links of the network. By means of
Monte Carlo simulations, we obtained the exponent ratio ,
, and for several values of rewiring probability . The
critical noise was determined and also was calculated. The
effective dimensionality of the system was observed to be independent on ,
and the value is observed for these networks. Previous
results on the Ising model in Apollonian Networks have reported no presence of
a phase transition. Therefore, the results present here demonstrate that the
Majority-Vote Model belongs to a different universality class as the
equilibrium Ising Model on Apollonian Network.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
Nse2, a component of the Smc5-6 complex, is a SUMO ligase required for the response to DNA damage
The Schizosaccharomyces pombe SMC proteins Rad18 (Smc6) and Spr18 (Smc5) exist in a high-M(r) complex which also contains the non-SMC proteins Nse1, Nse2, Nse3, and Rad62. The Smc5-6 complex, which is essential for viability, is required for several aspects of DNA metabolism, including recombinational repair and maintenance of the DNA damage checkpoint. We have characterized Nse2 and show here that it is a SUMO ligase. Smc6 (Rad18) and Nse3, but not Smc5 (Spr18) or Nse1, are sumoylated in vitro in an Nse2-dependent manner, and Nse2 is itself autosumoylated, predominantly on the C-terminal part of the protein. Mutations of C195 and H197 in the Nse2 RING-finger-like motif abolish Nse2-dependent sumoylation. nse2.SA mutant cells, in which nse2.C195S-H197A is integrated as the sole copy of nse2, are viable, whereas the deletion of nse2 is lethal. Smc6 (Rad18) is sumoylated in vivo: the sumoylation level is increased upon exposure to DNA damage and is drastically reduced in the nse2.SA strain. Since nse2.SA cells are sensitive to DNA-damaging agents and to exposure to hydroxyurea, this implicates the Nse2-dependent sumoylation activity in DNA damage responses but not in the essential function of the Smc5-6 complex
Pre-Big Bang Scenario on Self-T-Dual Bouncing Branes
We consider a new class of 5-dimensional dilatonic actions which are
invariant under T-duality transformations along three compact coordinates,
provided that an appropriate potential is chosen. We show that the invariance
remains when we add a boundary term corresponding to a moving 3-brane, and we
study the effects of the T-duality symmetry on the brane cosmological
equations. We find that T-duality transformations in the bulk induce scale
factor duality on the brane, together with a change of sign of the pressure of
the brane cosmological matter. However, in a remarkable analogy with the
Pre-Big Bang scenario, the cosmological equations are unchanged. Finally, we
propose a model where the dual phases are connected through a scattering of the
brane induced by an effective potential. We show how this model can realise a
smooth, non-singular transition between a pre-Big Bang superinflationary
Universe and a post-Big Bang accelerating Universe.Comment: 18 pages, minor typos corrected, Sec. 2 expanded with more details on
