On skein relations in class S theories

    Get PDF
Loop operators of a class S theory arise from networks on the corresponding Riemann surface, and their operator product expansions are given in terms of the skein relations, that we describe in detail in the case of class S theories of type A. As two applications, we explicitly determine networks corresponding to dyonic loops of N=4N=4 SU(3)SU(3) super Yang-Mills, and compute the superconformal index of a nontrivial network operator of the T3T_3 theory.Comment: 44 pages, v2 add a few references and little modification in sec.

Magnetic Properties of Cr_<1-x> Mn_xAs System

Studies on X-ray crystallographic, magnetic, neutron diffraction and transport properties have been made of the system Cr_Mn_xAs (0≦x≦0.9). All the members of the system undergo a transition from MnP structure to NiAs structure. Magnetic measurements have revealed the existence of three distinct magnetic regions and the magnetic structures of these regions have been found from neutron diffraction measurements. On the basis of these experimental data, magnetic and crystallographic phase diagrams have been constructed. In particular, CrAs exhibits a discontinuous change in the lattice constants at the Neel temperature which was obtained to be 265°K. The electrical resistivity and thermoelectric power show a strong anomaly at the temperature where the magnetic order disappears. The observed helical spin arrangement may be stabilized by the distortion of the Fermi surface which is caused by the formation of a new zone boundary

Magnetic Properties of Bulk Amorphous La-Fe Alloys

    Get PDF
We have prepared three bulk amorphous La_Fe_x alloys (x=69.4, 76.7 and 82.5 at.% Fe) by a high rate dc-triode sputtering. All of the samples are found to be amorphous by neturon diffraction measurements. The amorphous Fe alloys with nonmagnetic Y and Lu are reported to have spin-glass characteristics, while the La-Fe alloys are found to be ferromagnetic. In the latter alloys, the magnetizations are easily saturated in low applied fields, and their values suggest that the Fe moments are completely aligned. Furthermore it has been found that the saturation magnetic moment has a maximum value 1.7μB per Fe atom at around x=75, while the Curie temperature tends to decrease gradually with increasing Fe concentration. The temperature dependence of the magnetization for these alloys follows the spin-wave relation M(T)=M_0(1-BT^-CT^). Using the values of B and C obtained, we have estimated the mean range of the Fe-Fe exchange interaction (). The range of the exchange increases sharply from ~2A^2 to ~100A^2 with increasing Fe concentration and exceeds that of crystalline Fe
