Zonotopic fault detection observer design for Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems
This paper considers zonotopic fault detection observer design in the finite-frequency domain for discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems with unknown but bounded disturbances and measurement noise. We present a novel fault detection observer structure, which is more general than the commonly used Luenberger form. To make the generated residual sensitive to faults and robust against disturbances, we develop a finite-frequency fault detection observer based on generalised Kalman–Yakubovich–Popov lemma and P-radius criterion. The design conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The major merit of the proposed method is that residual evaluation can be easily implemented via zonotopic approach. Numerical examples are conducted to demonstrate the proposed methodPeer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
Weak Decays of Doubly-Heavy Tetraquarks
We study the weak decays of exotic tetraquark states
with two heavy quarks. Under the SU(3) symmetry for light quarks, these
tetraquarks can be classified into an octet plus a singlet: . We will concentrate on the octet tetraquarks with
, and study their weak decays, both semileptonic and nonleptonic.
Hadron-level effective Hamiltonian is constructed according to the irreducible
representations of the SU(3) group. Expanding the Hamiltonian, we obtain the
decay amplitudes parameterized in terms of a few irreducible quantities. Based
on these amplitudes, relations for decay widths are derived, which can be
tested in future. We also give a list of golden channels that can be used to
look for these states at various colliders.Comment: 14 pages,3 figure
On the nonintegrability of equations for long- and short-wave interactions
We examine the integrability of two models used for the interaction of long
and short waves in dispersive media. One is more classical but arguably cannot
be derived from the underlying water wave equations, while the other one was
recently derived. We use the method of Zakharov and Schulman to attempt to
construct conserved quantities for these systems at different orders in the
magnitude of the solutions. The coupled KdV-NLS model is shown to be
nonintegrable, due to the presence of fourth-order resonances. A coupled real
KdV - complex KdV system is shown to suffer the same fate, except for three
special choices of the coefficients, where higher-order calculations or a
different approach are necessary to conclude integrability or the absence
thereof.Comment: 9 pages, presented as a poster at The Tenth IMACS International

A new perspective on traffic control management using triangular interval type-2 fuzzy sets and interval neutrosophic sets
Controlling traffic flow on roads is an important traffic management task necessary to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for people. The number of cars on roads at any given time is always unknown. Type-2 fuzzy sets and neutrosophic sets play a vital role in dealing efficiently with such uncertainty. In this paper, a triangular interval type-2 Schweizer and Sklar weighted arithmetic (TIT2SSWA) operator and a triangular interval type-2 Schweizer and Sklar weighted geometric (TIT2SSWG) operator based on Schweizer and Sklar triangular norms have been studied, and the validity of these operators has been checked using a numerical example and extended to an interval neutrosophic environment by proposing interval neutrosophic Schweizer and Sklar weighted arithmetic (INSSWA) and interval neutrosophic Schweizer and Sklar weighted geometric (INSSWG) operators. Furthermore, their properties have been examined; some of the more important properties are examined in detail. Moreover, we proposed an improved score function for interval neutrosophic numbers (INNs) to control traffic flow that has been analyzed by identifying the junction that has more vehicles. This improved score function uses score values of triangular interval type-2 fuzzy numbers (TIT2FNs) and interval neutrosophic numbers
