    The rare semi-leptonic BcB_c decays involving orbitally excited final mesons

    The rare processes Bc→D(s)J(∗)μμˉB_c\to D_{(s)J} ^{(*)}\mu\bar{\mu}, where D(s)J(∗)D_{(s)J}^{(*)} stands for the final meson Ds0∗(2317)D_{s0}^*(2317), Ds1(2460,2536)D_{s1}(2460,2536),~Ds2∗(2573)D_{s2}^*(2573), D0∗(2400)D_0^*(2400), D1(2420,2430)D_{1}(2420,2430) or~D2∗(2460)D_{2}^*(2460), are studied within the Standard Model. The hadronic matrix elements are evaluated in the Bethe-Salpeter approach and furthermore a discussion on the gauge-invariant condition of the annihilation hadronic currents is presented. Considering the penguin, box, annihilation, color-favored cascade and color-suppressed cascade contributions, the observables dBr/dQ2\text{d}Br/\text{d}Q^2, ALPLA_{LPL}, AFBA_{FB} and PLP_L are calculated

    Connectedness with Nature and the Decline of Pro-Environmental Behavior in Adolescence: A comparison of Canada and China

    The present research investigated whether age-related differences in connectedness with nature in adolescence are associated with pro-environmental behavior across two cultures, Canada (N = 325) and China (N = 363). While older adolescents demonstrated lower connectedness with nature in both countries, pro-environmental behavior was inversely associated with age only in Canada but not in China. To investigate this cultural difference, we conducted a moderated mediation analysis. Positive self-evaluative emotion expectancies (pride/satisfaction) for engaging in pro-environmental behavior were found to mediate the interaction effect of culture and age when predicting pro-environmental behavior for Chinese but not for Canadian adolescents. The present research suggests that the development of pro-environmental behavior is contextually bounded and multi-directional. Effective promotion of pro-environmental behavior in adolescence should target culturally specific mechanisms, may it be connectedness with nature or moral emotions

    nterventions to prevent mother-to-child transmission in breastfeeding mothers with HIV: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

    This study aimed to systematically review interventions to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV during breastfeeding. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis using specific criteria to identify randomized controlled trials that focused on pregnant and breastfeeding women living with HIV and their children from birth to 2 years of age. We extensively searched electronic databases, including Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Google Scholar up to October 24, 2023. After screening 3,110 titles and abstracts, we reviewed 306 full texts. Of these, we assessed the quality and risk of bias of fifty-five articles, ultimately identifying seven studies. Four of these studies, which focused on antiretroviral therapy (ART), were included in the meta-analysis. There was little heterogeneity in study methodology and pooled estimates. The postnatal HIV transmission rate was found to be 0.01 (95%CI: 0.00 – 0.02). Therefore, the risk of mother-to-child transmission among breastfeeding mothers with HIV was significantly lower in the intervention groups than in the placebo groups. Analysis of funnel plots and Egger’s test (p = 0.589) showed no evidence of publication bias. In addition to the four articles, two studies compared different ART regimens and one study compared the administration of high-dose vitamin A to the mother or the child. The results suggest that the use of ART significantly reduces the risk of postnatal HIV transmission compared with placebo. However, the effectiveness of different ART regimens or other therapies, including high-dose vitamin A, is unclear

We provide three duality algorithms for factorization based on a naive factorization method, the Shor algorithm in quantum computing, and the Fermat's method in classical computing.
