    Analyse praxéologique et approche systémique

    Cette présentation introduit aux concepts fondamentaux de l’analyse praxéologique et à la relation de celle-ci avec l’approche systémique. Les sujets suivants seront abordés : l’efficacité et l’efficience de l’action, le travail, l’action humaine et son design, l’explication téléologique, les composants de l’action humaine ( réalisateur, buts, critères d’évaluation, outils, ressources, circonstances, temps, méthodes), l’efficacité méthodologique, le contexte axiologique de l’action humaine ou les rapports entre praxéologie et éthique.This presentation introduces the fundamental concepts of praxiological analysis and its relation to systems approach.     A brief history of Business Ethics here and now

    The article is a review of issues connected with business ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the last 20 years. Two decades have passed since the Sixth Polish Philosophical Congress took place in Toruń, where—for the first time in the history of Polish philosophical conventions—business ethics was recognized as a philosophical sub-discipline. It manifested itself in a special subsection of the Congress devoted to the topic, which was also kept at the next congress meetings. The paper is not a full review and most likely is not free from subjectivism. This is partly due to the fact that the subject matter falls within the scope of the philosophy of practicality—as the author interprets and refers to the philosophical system of Tadeusz Kotarbiński.Publication of English-language versions of the volumes of the "Annales.     "Don't try to teach me, I got nothing to learn": Management students' perceptions of business ethics teaching

    [EN] Interest is growing towards including business ethics in university curricula, aiming at improving ethical behaviour of future managers. Extant literature has investigated the impact of ethics education on different ethics-related students' cognitive and/or behavioural outcomes, considering variables related to training programmes and students' demographic aspects. Accordingly, we aim at assessing students' understanding of business ethics issues, by focusing on the differences in students' perceptions depending on gender, age, work experience, and ethics courses taken. Testing our hypotheses on a sample of 307 management students at a Polish university, and controlling for social desirability bias, we obtained mixed and partially surprising results. We found significant differences in students' understanding of business ethics depending on their gender and age (female and older students showed more ethical inclinations), but not depending on having taken ethics courses-actually perceptions of such courses worsened after taking them. Besides, work experience was not a significant variable. Moreover, course exposure intensiveness (i.e., number of ethics courses completed), and time passed since completion of the latest course, did not confirm hypothesized effects on most of the dependent (sub)variables.     W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe elementy działań przedsiębiorczych rozpatrywanych z punktu widzenia prakseologii oraz etyki, w nawiązaniu do wcześniejszych publikacji zagranicznych i krajowych. Zarysowano prakseologiczne ujęcie przedsiębiorczości zarówno według prakseologii wywodzącej się ze szkoły Tadeusza Kotarbińskiego, jak i prakseologii Misesiańskiej. Przedstawiono charakterystykę przedsiębiorczości związaną z religiami monoteistycznymi, przypomniano przy tym te fragmenty encyklik papieskich, w których nawiązują one do przedsiębiorczości. Odnotowano zagadnienia związane z etycznym wymiarem przedsiębiorczości, ze szczególnym uwypukleniem krytykowanych w literaturze przedmiotu manipulacji i oszustw występujących we współczesnym biznesie i ekonomii. Odpowiedzialna przedsiębiorczość wymaga kierowania się imperatywem technologicznym.The article presents the basic elements of entrepreneurial activities considered from the point of view of praxeology and ethics, in reference to previous foreign and domestic publications. The praxiological approach to entrepreneurship was outlined both according to the praxiology derived from Kotarbiński’s school and Misesian praxeology. The characteristics of entrepreneurship related to monotheistic religions were presented, while the fragments of the papal encyclicals in which they refer directly to entrepreneurship activities are quoted. Issues related to the ethical dimension of entrepreneurship were noted, with particular emphasis on the manipulations and frauds of the contemporary business and economy criticized in the literature.     Od lat dwudziestu w Akademii Leona Koźmińskiego (ALK) prowadzone jest Seminarium Krytycznej Teorii Organizacji nawiązujące do tradycji seminariów prakseologicznych, naturalne jest więc odwoływanie się w toku działalności tego Seminarium do prakseologicznych związków teorii organizacji z teorią sprawnego działania. Pożyteczne wydaje się zapoznanie z niektórymi publikacjami poświęconymi tej problematyce odwołującymi się wprost do teorii krytycznej. Umożliwi to wskazanie podobieństw i różnic występujących w krytycznym ujmowaniu problematyki organizacyjnej dotyczącym teorii, edukacji i praktyki. Autorzy większości prac na temat krytycznego podejścia do zagadnień organizacyjnych odwołują się na ogół do koncepcji „teorii krytycznej” wywodzącej się z rozważań prowadzonych przez badaczy zaliczanych do szkoły frankfurckiej. Podejście to cieszy się zainteresowaniem licznych badaczy organizacji. Krytyka teorii zarządzania, nienawiązująca do szkoły frankfurckiej, zapoczątkowana została artykułem Sumantry Ghoshala Bad management theories are destroying good mangement practices opublikowanym w 2005 roku. Autor ten zarzucał bezzasadne przyjęcie przez teoretyków ekonomii założeń obciążonych ideologicznie, na których stworzyli teorie nie tyle naukowe, ile będące w „pretensjach do naukowości” Należy także odnotować prace polskich autorów związane z krytycznym nurtem teorii organizacji i zarządzania. Również prace z zakresu etyki i społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu są pracami krytycznymi dotyczącymi wadliwych form organizacji działalności gospodarczej i związanego z nią zarządzania. Prace te i liczne inne stanowią istotny nurt krytycznej teorii organizacji i zarządzania oraz związanej z nią ekonomii, wzbogacając kontekst filozoficzny tych dyscyplin.The Critical Organization Theory Seminar of Koźmiński University has its 20th anniversary. It was established with the idea to continue tradition of earlier praxiological seminars run at the Department of Praxiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. So as it was natural it referred to the relationships between management science and theory of efficient action. It seems useful, however, to get acquainted with some publications devoted directly to the critical theory itself. This will allow to identify the similarities and differences in critical thinking about organizational issues related to theory, education, and practice. The authors of most of the work on critical approach to organizational issues refer generally to the concept of „critical theory” derived from the Frankfurt School. That approach is of great interest to many organization theoreticians. The criticism of management theory, not related to the FS, was initiated by the Ghoshal’s article „Bad Management Theories are Destroying Good Management Practices” published in 2005. It is also important to note the work of Polish authors related to the critical current of organizational theory and management. Also works on business ethics and corporate social responsibility are critical towards defective forms of organizations, businesses and related management. These and many others are an important stream of critical theory of organization and management and of the related economy, enriching the philosophical context of these disciplines
