    Stipa glareosa P. A. Smirn. (sect. Smirnovia Tzvel.) is reported for the first time from the Republic of Buryatia (Russia). Its stations are located at the northern limit of its general distribution range. The taxonomy, distribution and habitat preferences of the species are given, along with its population size at each new locality

    A calibration method for non-overlapping cameras based on mirrored phase target

    A novel calibration method for non-overlapping cameras is proposed in this paper. A LCD screen is used as a phase target to display two groups of orthogonal phase-shifted sinusoidal patterns during the calibration process. Through a mirror reflection, the phase target is captured by the cameras respectively. The relations between each camera and the phase target can be obtained according the proposed algorithm. Then the relation between the cameras can be calculated by treating the phase target as an intermediate value. The proposed method is more flexible than conventional mirror-based approach, because it do not require the common identification points and is robust to out-of-focus images. Both simulation work and experimental results show the proposed calibration method has a good result in calibrating a non-overlapping cameras system

    With this paper we continue a new annual series, the main purpose of which is to make significant floristic findings from Russia and neighboring countries more visible in Russia and abroad. In total, this paper presents new records for 48 vascular plant species from 6 Eurasian countries, obtained during field explorations, as well as during taxonomic revisions of herbarium materials.     An interspecies diversity is a principal question for understanding of variability, geographical distribution and evolutionary history of the genus Convallaria. Considering the C. majalis s.str. and C. keiskei as the Eurasian species with overlapping morphological features there are scarce data on their genetic variability. The molecular genetic analysis of nuclear ITS1-2 marker, chloroplast gene fragments trnL-trnF and maturase K was used to study genetic structure of 112 Convallaria specimens collected throughout Eurasia. The maturase K gene based results were shown to be the most efficient to resolve genetic structure of studied species. Three main haplotypes namely ancestral East Asian, South European-Caucasian and North European were dominant across geographical ranges of species C. keiskei, C. transcaucasica and C. majalis, respectively. Moreover, three minor haplotypes Khankai, Korean, and Manchurian were identified from nucleotide analysis. All three main haplotypes of Convallaria were found In Baikal Siberia. The proposed approach was sufficient to resolve an origin and genetic relations of local populations of Convallaria in the Irkutsk Region. Detected low level of genetic differences in analyzed species allows considering the single species C. majalis in Eurasia

    All available data on the distribution of Impatiens glandulifera Royle in Siberia was analyzed. The species appeared in Siberia as an unpretentious ornamental plant around the middle of the 20th century. Cases of withdrawal from culture have been recorded since the 1970s and 1980s; mass naturalization began at the end of the 20th century. Currently, the species is common in many regions of Siberia, but the most active in the Altai Territory, the Altai Republic, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Irkutsk Regions. It is common in anthropogenic habitats; it can also often be found in suburban forests, ravines, along the banks of water bodies. It shows tolerance to habitat conditions, but is especially active in areas with a close occurrence of groundwater on humus-rich soils. The species richness of I. glandulifera communities is from 10-15 to 40 species. In total, about 100 species of vascular plants were recorded in I. glandulifera communities in Siberi

    Analysis of the Potential Range of <i>Anticlea sibirica</i> L. (Kunth) and Its Changes under Moderate Climate Change in the 21st Century

    The study shows the analysis of the current potential range and the modeling of its changes in the hemiboreal species Anticlea sibirica. The models show the habitat suitability for A. sibirica under moderate climatic changes (RCP4.5) in the middle and second half of the 21st century. For modeling, we used MaxEnt software with the predictors being climate variables from CHELSA Bioclim and a digital elevation model. The modeling has shown that climate change can be favorable for the spread of A. sibirica to the northeastern part of its range by expanding highly suitable habitats in mountainous landscapes along the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. In the rest of the range, the total area of suitable habitats will decrease. In areas with extremely deteriorating growing conditions, the species will persist in low-competition habitats such as rocky outcrops, riverbanks, and screes. The predicted change in the distribution of A. sibirica indicates a possible strong transformation of the vegetation cover in Siberia and the Urals, even under moderate climate change
