The examination control of students' knowledge as a range for working off innovative forms of providing education quality
On an example of students - mathematicians of pedagogical university it is shown that the examination, considered as generalizing total monitor procedure of semestrial pedagogical process (including preparation for examination, actually examination procedure, the analysis of results and correction of the revealed discrepancies), can serve as effective and flexible means of monitoring and maintenance of quality of pedagogical process in high school
On the correlation between thermal expansion coefficient and heat capacity of argon cryocrystals
A detailed analysis of the correlation between the volumetric thermal expansion coefficient o(T) and heat capacity C(T) of a rare-gas (Ar) cryocrystal has been performed. It has been shown that there is a clear correlation dependence o(C) not only in the low-temperature range, where it is linear and known as the Gruneisen law, but also in a significantly wider temperature range (up to the melting point of argon). The dependence o(C) substantially deviates from the low-temperature linear behavior when the heat capacity reaches the classical Dulong-Petit limit of 3R
Heat Capacity of Solid Tantalum: Self-Consistent Calculation
A review is given of the results of calculations of the heat capacity C(T) of solid tantalum in a wide temperature range from helium temperatures to the melting point of metal T-m. Calculation of the heat capacity of the metal within the framework of a self-consistent thermodynamic model (SCTDM) of a solid body versus the experimental (reference) data on C(T) is performed. In the range from the Debye temperature theta(0) similar to 250 K to the beginning of the premelting region T similar to 0.8T(m), the standard SCTDM ensured an adequate description of the tantalum heat capacity with a mean square error of less than 0.5 J K-1 mol(-1). At lower and higher temperatures, extra models are needed. A number of thermodynamic characteristics of the element are determined whose values were previously absent or needed verification

Heat capacity and thermal expansion of cryocystalline xenon at elevated temperatures
The behavior of the heat capacity and thermal expansion of solid xenon (crystals of a rare gas) is studied in the range of elevated temperatures. It is found that the relative width of the premelting zone for xenon exceeds that for other solids. The Xe premelting parameters are estimated using the single-vacancy model. The results of this study explain the known difficulties encountered in the description of thermodynamic properties of solid inert gases using simple model potentials of the interatomic interaction of the Lennard-Jones type by the fact that premelting effects are not taken into account correctly
Correlation between the thermal expansion coefficient and heat capacity of solid xenon
The correlation between the volume expansivity beta(T) and heat capacity C(T) of a solid inert gas (Xe) is analyzed in detail. It is shown that there is a clear beta(C) correlation not only at low temperatures, where it is linear and known as Gruneisen's law, but also in a considerably broader temperature range, up to the melting point of xenon. A significant deviation from the low-temperature linear behavior of beta(C) occurs when the heat capacity reaches 3R, the classical Dulong-Petit limit
