Skyrmion and Skyrme-Black holes in de Sitter spacetime
Numerical arguments are presented for the existence of regular and black hole
solutions of the Einstein-Skyrme equations with a positive cosmological
constant. These classical configurations approach asymptotically the de Sitter
spacetime. The main properties of the solutions and the differences with
respect to the asymptotically flat ones are discussed. It particular our
results suggest that, for a positive cosmological constant, the mass evaluated
as timelike infinity in infinite. Special emphasis is set to De Sitter black
holes Skyrmions which display two horizons.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figure
Catheter Based Simultaneous Mapping of Cardiac Activation and Motion: A Review
Heart failure as a result of a variety of cardiac diseases is an ever growing, challenging condition that demands profound insight in the electrical and mechanical state of the myocardium. Assessment of cardiac function has largely relied on evaluation of cardiac motion by multiple imaging techniques. In recent years electrical properties have gained attention as heart failure could be improved by biventricular resynchronization therapy. In contrast to early belief, QRS widening as a result of left bundle branch block could not be identified as a surrogate for asynchronous contraction
Spin anisotropy effects in dimer single molecule magnets
We present a model of equal spin dimer single molecule magnets. The
spins within each dimer interact via the Heisenberg and the most general set of
four quadratic anisotropic spin interactions with respective strengths and
, and with the magnetic induction . We solve the model
exactly for , and for antiferromagnetic Heisenberg couplings
(), present curves at low for these cases. Low-
curves for and electron paramagnetic susceptibility
for are also provided. For weak anisotropy
interactions, we employ a perturbative treatment, and show that the Hartree and
extended Hartree approximations lead to reliable analytic results at low
and large for these quantities and for the inelastic neutron scattering
cross-section . Our results are discussed with
regard to existing experiments on Fe dimer
single molecule magnets, and suggest that one of them contains a substantial
amount of single-ion anisotropy, without any sizeable global spin anisotropy.
We urge further experiments of the above types on single crystals of Fe and
on some [Mn] dimers, in order to elucidate the precise values
of the various microscopic interactions.Comment: 30 pages, 25 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev.
All null supersymmetric backgrounds of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to abelian vector multiplets
The lightlike supersymmetric solutions of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity
coupled to an arbitrary number of abelian vector multiplets are classified
using spinorial geometry techniques. The solutions fall into two classes,
depending on whether the Killing spinor is constant or not. In both cases, we
give explicit examples of supersymmetric backgrounds. Among these BPS
solutions, which preserve one quarter of the supersymmetry, there are
gravitational waves propagating on domain walls or on bubbles of nothing that
asymptote to AdS_4. Furthermore, we obtain the additional constraints obeyed by
half-supersymmetric vacua. These are divided into four categories, that include
bubbles of nothing which are asymptotically AdS_4, pp-waves on domain walls,
AdS_3 x R, and spacetimes conformal to AdS_3 times an interval.Comment: 55 pages, uses JHEP3.cls. v2: Minor errors corrected, small changes

All the timelike supersymmetric solutions of all ungauged d=4 supergravities
We determine the form of all timelike supersymmetric solutions of all N
greater or equal than 2, d=4 ungauged supergravities, for N less or equal than
4 coupled to vector supermultiplets, using the $Usp(n+1,n+1)-symmetric
formulation of Andrianopoli, D'Auria and Ferrara and the spinor-bilinears
method, while preserving the global symmetries of the theories all the way. As
previously conjectured in the literature, the supersymmetric solutions are
always associated to a truncation to an N=2 theory that may include
hypermultiplets, although fields which are eliminated in the truncations can
have non-trivial values, as is required by the preservation of the global
symmetry of the theories. The solutions are determined by a number of
independent functions, harmonic in transverse space, which is twice the number
of vector fields of the theory (n+1). The transverse space is flat if an only
if the would-be hyperscalars of the associated N=2 truncation are trivial.Comment: v3: Some changes in the introduction. Version to be published in JHE
On the Moduli Space of N = 2 Supersymmetric G_2 Gauge Theory
We apply the method of confining phase superpotentials to N = 2
supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with the exceptional gauge group G_2. Our
findings are consistent with the spectral curve of the periodic Toda lattice,
but do not agree with the hyperelliptic curve suggested previously in the
literature. We also apply the method to theories with fundamental matter,
treating both the example of SO(5) and G_2.Comment: 14 pages, LaTeX, 1 figure, reference adde
HKT Geometry and Fake Five Dimensional Supergravity
Recent results on the relation between hyper-Kahler geometry with torsion and
solutions admitting Killing spinors in minimal de sitter supergravity are
extended to more general supergravity models with vector multiplets.Comment: 14 pages, latex. Minor typos corrected, references adde
