What to prioritize? Natural Language Processing for the Development of a Modern Bug Tracking Solution in Hardware Development

    Get PDF
Managing large numbers of incoming bug reports and finding the most critical issues in hardware development is time consuming, but crucial in order to reduce development costs. In this paper, we present an approach to predict the time to fix, the risk and the complexity of debugging and resolution of a bug report using different supervised machine learning algorithms namely Random Forest, Naive Bayes, SVM, MLP and XGBoost. Further, we investigate the effect of the application of active learning and we evaluate the impact of different text representation techniques, namely TF-IDF, Word2Vec, Universal Sentence Encoder and XLNet on the model's performance. The evaluation shows that a combination of text embeddings generated through the Universal Sentence Encoder and MLP as classifier outperforms all other methods, and is well suited to predict the risk and complexity of bug tickets

USING RUBRIC TO ASSESS PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' COMPETENCE IN TEACHING SCIENCE IN VIETNAM

    Get PDF
Vietnam is in the early stages of implementing the reform of the curriculum and textbooks. Vietnam's general education is changing strongly from content-based teaching to competence-building teaching [1]. That change has been implemented by researchers and teachers in all elements of the teaching process, including testing and evaluation. Evaluation of educational outcomes needs to shift from testing memorization to assessing the ability to apply knowledge to solve practical problems, attaching importance to both assessment of learning outcomes and assessment in the learning process. In this situation, testing and assessment in teaching Science in primary schools are also interesting to many teachers, and assessment of scientific competence in teaching this subject is considered an important factor contributing to improving the quality of Science and the quality of subject teaching in the direction of developing students' ability. The article mentions some theoretical foundations and the actual situation of using Rubric in assessing the scientific competence of students in grades 4 and 5 when teachers teach Science, thereby proposing some measures to improve the effectiveness of assessment in teaching this subject.  Article visualizations

Creativity and Entrepreneurial Efforts in an Emerging Economy

    Get PDF
While much research has focused on entrepreneurship and creativity in developed economies, the notions of both topics are still embryonic in many emerging economies. This paper focuses on entrepreneurs in one such economy, Vietnam, to understand the perceptions of entrepreneurs about the role that innovation and creativity may play in their own entrepreneurial ventures and success. This is important because before reaping benefits from entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs need to decide when and on what conditions they start based on their calculations of required resources and predictions of likely outcomes. The research also sought to understand how "creativity," broadly applied ("innovation" and "creative performance") affects the ways that entrepreneurs think about and anticipate their own success and decisions. In essence, the study suggests that the higher the entrepreur’s creativity is, the more likely she or he is to start a new business and believe success will result. Future research could examine whether history, industry and geographic location matter in entrepreneurs’ perceptions as well as whether transition/emerging economies like Vietnam may have different views altogether about the two key concepts.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

Ammonia oxidation capacity of bacillus bacteria in swine wastewater after biogas treatment

    Get PDF
Nitrogen removal with biological methods plays a crucial role in wastewater treatment technology. The treatment begins with the oxidation of ammonia to nitrite to facilitate the subsequent nitrification and denitrification. Various strains of ammonia-oxidising bacteria have been reported. In this study, we use three Bacillus bacteria isolated from swine wastewater to oxidise ammonia. Different initial densities (103, 104, 105, and 106 CFU·mL–1) of each strain were examined. The results show that the combination of all the bacteria at a ratio of 1:1:1 and a density of 105 CFU·mL–1 exhibits the most effect. The findings contribute to the diversity of ammonia-oxidising bacterial species and pose a great potential for applying these strains in wastewater treatment

IDENTIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A PURPLE NONSULFUR BACTERIUM ISOLATED FROM COASTAL AREA OF HAI PHONG FOR USING IN PRODUCTION OF UNSATURATED FATTY ACID (OMEGA 6, 7, 9)

Purple nonsulfur bacteria are a group that has so much biotechnological applications, particularly in producing of functional food rich with unsaturated fatty acids. A purple nonsulfur bacterium (named HPB.6) was chosen based on its strong growth, high lipid and synthesis of unsaturated fatty acid (omega 6,7,9). Studying on basic biological characteristics showed that the cells of HPB.6 were observed as ovoid-rod shape, none motility, Gram negative staining. The diameter of single bacterium was about 0.8-1.0 µm. The cells divide by binary fission and had bacteriochlorophyll a (Bchl a). This bacterium grew well on medium with carbon and nitrogen sources such as acetate, succinate, pyruvate, butyrate, glutamate, arginine, leucine, tyrosine, alanine, methionine, threonine, glutamine, yeast extract and NH4Cl. This selected strain grew well on medium with salt concentrations from 1.5 - 6.0% (optimum 3%), pH from 5.0 to 8.0 (optimum at pH 6.5) and could withstand Na2S at 4.0 - 5.2 mM. Based on morphological, physiological properties and 16S rRNA analysis received demonstrated that HPB.6 strain belongs to the species Rhodovulum sulfidophilum

Biocontrol of Alternaria alternata YZU, a causal of stem end rot disease on pitaya, with soil phosphate solubilizing bacteria

    Get PDF
Stem end rot is the most destructive disease caused by Alternaria alternata YZU in pitaya-growing regions of Vietnam. This study was conducted to characterize antagonistic phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) from rhizosphere soil for their biocontrol activities against A. alternata YZU and evaluate the effect of temperature, pH, and water activity on that antagonism. Among seven PSB isolated from 45 rhizosphere soil samples, PSB31 (identified as Bacillus sp. strain IMAU61039, Accession number: MF803700.1) exhibited the highest antagonistic activity against A. alternata YZU with an average inhibition diameter of 0.65 ± 0.05 cm. The results also show that the strain PSB31 controlled the mycelial growth of A. alternata YZU by secreting antifungal metabolites. The most potent inhibitory activity was identified under in vitro conditions of 25 °C, pH 7, and aw 1. The isolated PSB31 could be a potential biological control agent against A. alternata YZU

Application of directional derivative method to determine boundary of magnetic sources by total magnetic anomalies

    Get PDF
This paper presents the Directional Derivative method to determine location and boundaries of the magnetic directional structure sources through a new function DG (Directional Gradient - DG). Algorithm and computer program are made a code by Matlab language to attempt to calculate on 3D models in the compare with Horizontal derivative method (HG). A new function DG also applied to determine the boundary of magnetic sources by the total magnetic anomalies of Tuan Giao region. The result shows that with the application of new function DG, the boundaries of magnetic sources are exactly defined although they have a directional structure and small horizontal size. Moreover, because it does not depend on directions of magnetization, so in the computation, the transformation of the magnetic field to the pole can ignore, thus, reduce transient error. Alternatively, with the application of new function DG, the interferences in case the sources distributed close together are overcome. This usefulness affirms the possibility of application of the this method in the analysis and interpretation of magnetic data in Vietnam.ReferencesBhaskara Rao D. and N. Ramesh Babu, 1993.
