Final Report One-Twelfth-Scale Mixing Experiments to Characterize Double-Shell Tank Slurry Uniformity
The objectives of these 1/12-scale scoping experiments were to Determine which of the dimensionless parameters discussed in Bamberger and Liljegren (1994) affect the maximum concentration that can be suspended during jet mixer pump operation in the full-scale double-shell tanks Develop empirical correlations to predict the nozzle velocity required for jet mixer pumps to suspend the contents of full-scale double-shell tanks Apply the models to predict the nozzle velocity required to suspend the contents of Tank 241 AZ-101 Obtain experimental concentration data to compare with the TEMPEST( )(Trent and Eyler 1989) computational modeling predictions to guide further code development Analyze the effects of changing nozzle diameter on exit velocity (U0) and U0D0 (the product of the exit velocity and nozzle diameter) required to suspend the contents of a tank. The scoping study experimentally evaluated uniformity in a 1/12-scale experiment varying the Reynolds number, Froude number, and gravitational settling parameter space. The initial matrix specified only tests at 100% U0D0 and 25% U0D0. After initial tests were conducted with small diameter, low viscosity simulant this matrix was revised to allow evaluation of a broader range of U0D0s. The revised matrix included full factorial test between 100% and 50% U0D0 and two half-factorial tests at 75% and 25% U0D0. Adding points at 75% U0D0 and 50% U0D0 allowed evaluation curvature. Eliminating points at 25% U0D0 decreased the testing time by several weeks. Test conditions were achieved by varying the simulant viscosity, the mean particle size, and the jet nozzle exit velocity. Concentration measurements at sampling locations throughout the tank were used to assess the degree of uniformity achieved during each test. Concentration data was obtained using a real time ultrasonic attenuation probe and discrete batch samples. The undissolved solids concentration at these locations was analyzed to determine whether the tank contents were uniform ( ±10% variation about mean) in concentration. Concentration inhomogeneity was modeled as a function of dimensionless groups. The two parameters that best describe the maximum solids volume fraction that can be suspended in a double-shell tank were found to be 1) the Froude number (Fr) based on nozzle velocity (U0) and tank contents level (H) and 2) the dimensionless particle size (dp/D0). The dependence on the Reynolds number (Re) does not appear to be statistically significant

El presente proyecto, está basado en la creación de la idea de negocio que tiene por nombre BioSmile, con el objetivo de ofrecer un producto ecológico e innovador.Los cepillos de dientes hechos a base de bambú serán un producto diferenciado dentro del mercado peruano, ya que buscamos promover un cuidado bucal y personal sostenible y eco amigable.El mercado objetivo son usuarios con estilo de vida moderna y acelerada entre los 18 y 55 años, pertenecientes a la generación X y a los llamados Millennials, del sector socioeconómico A y B y que están ubicados en las zonas de Lima moderna. Además, cuentan con una afinidad por productos con tendencia ecológica y de cuidado personal. Se considera que estos usuarios tienen la disposición para pagar el valor agregado que BioSmile ofrece.El plan de marketing se enfocará en los potenciales clientes de BioSmile a través de campañas y promociones, las cuales se harán en redes sociales y ferias ecológicas para tener ventas de manera mensual. Gravity modulation and cross-diffusion effects on the onset of multicomponent convection.
A linear stability analysis is undertaken to investigate the effects of cross-diffusion and gravity modulation on the onset of convective instability in horizontally unbounded multiply diffusive fluid layers. We consider layers of incompressible Boussinesq fluid in which all thermophysical properties are constant except for the density insofar as it contributes to a buoyant force. It is assumed that the density is a linear function of the various components present and the fluxes are linear combinations of all the gradients of those components. We begin with a study of the effects of coupled molecular diffusion in a triply diffusive fluid layer under a constant gravity field. The bounding surfaces are perfectly conducting, perfectly permeable, and free of stresses. Stability is determined by way of temporal eigenvalues of a linear system of ODE's. We find that the off-diagonal elements of the diffusivity matrix may strongly affect the linear stability criteria, regardless of their relative value (as long as they do not vanish) as compared to the main-diagonal elements. We also investigate the combined effects of a sinusoidally varying gravity field and cross-diffusion in several doubly diffusive configurations. In particular, we consider: (1) stress-free and rigid boundaries with imposed gradients, and (2) stress-free and rigid boundaries when a solute gradient is induced by Soret separation. Stability is determined by way of Floquet multipliers of a linear system of ODE's with periodic coefficients. The topology of neutral curves and stability boundaries exhibits features not found in the modulated singly diffusive or unmodulated multiply diffusive fluid layers. In a gravity modulated doubly diffusive layer with cross-diffusion, when one Rayleigh number, say R₂, is fixed or induced, neutral curves spanned by the other Rayleigh number (R₁) and the horizontal wavenumber are in general multivalued. In addition, finite as well as semi-infinite R₁ stability ranges can be found. A notable feature is the occurrence of double minima, each one corresponding to a different asymptotically stable neutral response. A temporally and spatially quasi-periodic bifurcation from the basic state is possible when the Rayleigh numbers of the double extrema coincide. In this situation, there are two incommensurate critical wavenumbers at two incommensurate onset frequencies at the same Rayleigh number
Diseño de un sistema de gestión de la seguridad y salud en el trabajo para reducir riesgos en el área operativa de la empresa Intercore S.A.C. basada en la ISO 45001, Hualgayoc 2018
RESUMEN
El presente trabajo plantea una propuesta de diseño y describe la metodología a seguir para
implementar un sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud en el trabajo, en la empresa INTERCORE
SAC, y que puede ser aplicada en empresas similares del sector minero. El diseño de un SGS&ST,
se inicia con un diagnóstico inicial de la empresa para lo cual nos basamos en la lista de verificación
de lineamientos del SGS&ST descrita en la Norma ISO 45001:2018, el resultado del diagnóstico nos
sirve para plantear un SGS&ST adecuado a las necesidades de la empresa. Inicialmente se
presenta los fundamentos teóricos, marco conceptual y legal, luego se muestran los materiales,
métodos y técnicas de recopilación que se requieren para un diseño específico del proceso de
implementación del SGS&ST. Finalmente se habla de los resultados, análisis y conclusiones, se
empezó realizando un diagnóstico inicial del SGS&ST, a la parte operativa de la empresa a través
del check list del ISO 45001: 2018, se obtuvo que 4.16% está listo, 16.66% está casi listo y 79.18%
hay trabajo por hacer, luego se analizaron los riesgos a través de una matriz IPERC y se obtuvo que
el riesgo físico representa el 65.22% de incidencia, el ambiental 13.05%, el ergonómico 8.69%, el
químico 8.69% y el riesgo mecánico un 4.35%.
Finalmente se realizó el diseño del SGS&ST basado en el ISO 45001:2018, que le permite a la
empresa INTERCORE S.A.C. cumplir con los requerimientos que exige la norma al 100%.
Asimismo, reducir el nivel de riesgo de medio a bajo en un 100% previniendo lesiones y deterioro
de la Salud relacionados con el trabajo. Y, por último, desde el punto de vista económico es rentable
ya que por cada S/ 1.00 invertido se genera un beneficio de S/0.42, evitando multas o sanciones y
perdidas de horas de trabajo.

The present work proposes a design proposal and describes the methodology to follow to implement
a safety and health management system at work, in the company INTERCORE SAC, and that can
be applied in similar companies of the mining sector. The design of an OH&SMS, begins with an
initial diagnosis of the company for which we rely on the checklist of guidelines of the OH&SMS
described in the ISO 45001: 2018, the result of the diagnosis serves to propose an OH&SMS
appropriate to the needs of the company. Initially, the theoretical foundations, conceptual and legal
framework are presented, then the materials, methods and collection techniques that are required
for a specific design of the implementation process of the OH&SMS are shown. Finally we talk about
the results, analysis and conclusions, we started making an initial diagnosis of OH&SMS, to the
operational part of the company through the checklist of ISO 45001: 2018, it was obtained that 4.16%
is ready, 16.66% is almost ready and 79.18% there is work to be done, then the risks were analyzed
through an IPERC matrix and it was obtained that the physical risk represents the 65.22% incidence,
the environmental 13.05%, the ergonomic 8.69%, the chemical 8.69% and the mechanical risk
4.35%.
Finally, the design of the SGS & ST based on ISO 45001: 2018, which allows the company

Mechanics of Bubbles in Sludges and Slurries
The Hanford Site has 177 underground waste storage tanks that are known to retain and release bubbles composed of flammable gases. Characterizing and understanding the behavior of these bubbles is important for the safety issues associated with the flammable gases for both ongoing waste storage and future waste-retrieval operations. The retained bubbles are known to respond to small barometric pressure changes, though in a complex manner with unusual hysteresis occurring in some tanks in the relationship between bubble volume and pressure, or V-P hysteresis. With careful analysis, information on the volume of retained gas and the interactions of the waste and the bubbles can be determined. The overall objective of this study is to create a better understanding of the mechanics of bubbles retained in high-level waste sludges and slurries. Proposal for the redistribution of urban furniture in the pedestrian infrastructure of the Panamericana Sur bypass with Av. Primavera to improve accessibility for public transport users based on the Wayfinding model
De acuerdo a la problemática de la falta de accesibilidad para todos los usuarios que transitan por el bypass de la av. Primavera con la Panamericana Sur se buscó una propuesta que abarque la solución a su problema y le permita realizar sus viajes peatonales sin dificultades y/o barreras para todo tipo de usuario.
Según investigaciones pasadas aplicadas en países como España, Alemania y México, este problema es recurrente ya que se diseña bienes, productos y/o servicios sin pensar en todas las capacidades que puedan presentar los usuarios.
A partir de ellos, se realizó estudios de campo donde se vieron las principales deficiencias de las zonas del bypass donde transitan los peatones, y en estas zonas de realizó en conteo de un aforo peatonal en conjunto con una encuesta de nivel de satisfacción.
Después de ello, se procedió a pasar los datos al software sketchup para realizar un cambio de mobiliario y aprovechar las zonas no utilizadas del bypass para brindar mejor comodidad al usuario y espacio para movilizarse sin dificultad.
Luego, se aplicó la metodología wayfinding complementar la propuesta con una orientación para peatón hacia su destino y con ello, según el HCM 2010 se revisó el nivel de servicio actual y el de la propuesta, obteniendo una mejora para los caminos por donde se trasladarán los peatonesAccording to the problem of lack of accessibility for all users passing through the av.
