    Wigner quantum oscillators. Osp(3/2) oscillators

The properties of the three-dimensional noncanonical osp(3/2) oscillators, introduced in J.Phys. A: Math. Gen. {\bf 27} (1994) 977, are further studied. The angular momentum M of the oscillators can take at most three values M=p-1,p,p+1, which are either all integers or all half-integers. The coordinates anticommute with each other. Depending on the state space the energy spectrum can coincide or can be essentially different from those of the canonical oscillator. The ground state is in general degenerated.Comment: TeX, Preprint INRNE-TH-94/3, 17

Microstructural Change and Mechanical Property of Neutron Irradiated Ti-Ni Shape Memory Alloy

    Get PDF
Microstructural change and mechanical property of Ti-Ni shape memory alloy after neutron irradiation have been studied. The neutron doses were from 1.4×10^ to 1.2×10^n/cm^2, and the irradiation temperature was under 423K. A halo ring was observed after the irradiation of 1.2×10^n/cm^2, which means that amorphous phase was induced by the neutron irradiation. In stress-strain curve, the critical point (σ_M) increased as the dose increased. At the highest dose, the stress-strain curve lost pseudoelasticity. These results indicate that such mechanical properties strongly depend on the amorphous formation

The DRIFT Project: Searching for WIMPS with a Directional Detector

    Get PDF
A low pressure time projection chamber for the detection of WIMPs is discussed. Discrimination against Compton electron background in such a device should be very good, and directional information about the recoil atoms would be obtainable. If a full 3-D reconstruction of the recoil tracks can be achieved, Monte Carlo studies indicate that a WIMP signal could be identified with high confidence from as few as 30 detected WIMP-nucleus scattering events.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures. Formation of two-dimensional weak localization in conducting Langmuir-Blodgett films

We report the magnetotransport properties up to 7 T in the organic highly conducting Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films formed by a molecular association of the electroactive donor molecule bis(ethylendioxy)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDO-TTF) and stearic acid CH3_3(CH2_2)16_{16}COOH. We show the logarithmic decrease of dc conductivity and the negative transverse magnetoresistance at low temperature. They are interpreted in the weak localization of two-dimensional (2D) electronic system based on the homogeneous conducting layer with the molecular size thickness of BEDO-TTF. The electronic length with phase memory is given at the mesoscopic scale, which provides for the first time evidence of the 2D coherent charge transport in the conducting LB films.Comment: 5 pages, 1 Table and 5 figure

Hopf Structure and Green Ansatz of Deformed Parastatistics Algebras

Deformed parabose and parafermi algebras are revised and endowed with Hopf structure in a natural way. The noncocommutative coproduct allows for construction of parastatistics Fock-like representations, built out of the simplest deformed bose and fermi representations. The construction gives rise to quadratic algebras of deformed anomalous commutation relations which define the generalized Green ansatz.Comment: 14 pages, final versio

Quantum model for magnetic multivalued recording in coupled multilayers

In this paper, we discuss the possibilities of realizing the magnetic multi-valued (MMV) recording in a magnetic coupled multilayer. The hysteresis loop of a double-layer system is studied analytically, and the conditions for achieving the MMV recording are given. The conditions are studied from different respects, and the phase diagrams for the anisotropic parameters are given in the end.Comment: 8 pages, LaTex formatted, 7 figures (those who are interested please contact the authors requring the figures) Submitted to Physal Review B. On the R-Matrix Formulation of Deformed Algebras and Generalized Jordan-Wigner Transformations

The deformed algebra A(R)\cal{A(R)}, depending upon a Yang-Baxter R- matrix, is considered. The conditions under which the algebra is associative are discussed for a general number of oscillators. Four types of solutions satisfying these conditions are constructed and two of them can be represented by generalized Jordan-Wigner transformations. Our analysis is in some sense an extension of the boson realization of fermions from single-mode to multimode oscillators.Comment: 10+ii pages, preprint RBI-TH-10/93,Latex,(to appear in Europhys.Lett.

    Macroscopic properties of A-statistics

    Get PDF
A-statistics is defined in the context of the Lie algebra sl(n+1). Some thermal properties of A-statistics are investigated under the assumption that the particles interact only via statistical interaction imposed by the Pauli principle of A-statistics. Apart from the general case, three particular examples are studied in more detail: (a) the particles have one and the same energy and chemical potential; (b) equidistant energy spectrum; (c) two species of particles with one and the same energy and chemical potential within each class. The grand partition functions and the average number of particles are among the thermodynamical quantities written down explicitly.Comment: 27 pages, 4 figures; to be published in J. Phys.
