Cut mowing and grazing effects with grey cattle on plant species composition in case of Pannon wet grasslands
Examined area can be found at Balaton Uplands National Park (Hungary). 5 sample areas were
examined in Badacsonytördemic: 1: 32 hectare under-grazed pasture, 2: 38 hectare overgrazed pasture, 3:
34 hectare hayfield, 4: trampled area, 5: beaten track. Livestock population was 118 in the monitored
pastures. Sampling was executed along five 52m long circular transects, within 5cm Ă 5cm interlocking
quadrates. Based on the data we can state that the curve of the drinking area was the highest of speciesarea
examinations however weed appeared because of degradation which provided more species.
According to species-area examinations overgrazed areas were richer in species then other examined
areas. Based on diversity data drinking area considered degraded, while meadow and overgrazed areas
was considered as proper state. Diversity of meadow was larger, but dominance of economically useful
species was smaller. The amount of less valuable species â Carex hirta â increased
Biztonsågos Scrum våltozatok åttekintése
A hatĂ©kony szoftverfejlesztĂ©s egyik alapfeltĂ©tele a megfelelĆ mĂłdszertan kivĂĄlasztĂĄsa Ă©s alkalmazĂĄsa. Napjaink egyik legelterjedtebb mĂłdszertana a Scrum, amit sok ezer projekt sorĂĄn alkalmaztak sikeresen.

22Ne and 23Na ejecta from intermediate-mass stars: The impact of the new LUNA rate for 22Ne(p,gamma)23Na
We investigate the impact of the new LUNA rate for the nuclear reaction NeNa on the chemical ejecta of intermediate-mass stars, with particular focus on the thermally-pulsing asymptotic giant branch (TP-AGB) stars that experience hot-bottom burning. To this aim we use the PARSEC and COLIBRI codes to compute the complete evolution, from the pre-main sequence up to the termination of the TP-AGB phase, of a set of stellar models with initial masses in the range , and metallicities , , and . We find that the new LUNA measures have much reduced the nuclear uncertainties of the Ne and Na AGB ejecta, which drop from factors of to only a factor of few for the lowest metallicity models. Relying on the most recent estimations for the destruction rate of Na, the uncertainties that still affect the Ne and Na AGB ejecta are mainly dominated by evolutionary aspects (efficiency of mass-loss, third dredge-up, convection). Finally, we discuss how the LUNA results impact on the hypothesis that invokes massive AGB stars as the main agents of the observed O-Na anti-correlation in Galactic globular clusters. We derive quantitative indications on the efficiencies of key physical processes (mass loss, third dredge-up, sodium destruction) in order to simultaneously reproduce both the Na-rich, O-poor extreme of the anti-correlation, and the observational constraints on the CNO abundance. Results for the corresponding chemical ejecta are made publicly available
A photometric monitoring of bright high-amplitude delta Scuti stars. II. Period updates for seven stars
We present new photometric data for seven high-amplitude delta Scuti stars.
The observations were acquired between 1996 and 2002, mostly in the Johnson
photometric system. For one star (GW UMa), our observations are the first since
the discovery of its pulsational nature from the Hipparcos data. The primary
goal of this project was to update our knowledge on the period variations of
the target stars. For this, we have collected all available photometric
observations from the literature and constructed decades-long O-C diagrams of
the stars. This traditional method is useful because of the single-periodic
nature of the light variations. Text-book examples of slow period evolution (XX
Cyg, DY Her, DY Peg) and cyclic period changes due to light-time effect (LITE)
in a binary system (SZ Lyn) are updated with the new observations. For YZ Boo,
we find a period decrease instead of increase. The previously suggested
LITE-solution of BE Lyn (Kiss & Szatmary 1995) is not supported with the new
O-C diagram. Instead of that, we suspect the presence of transient light curve
shape variations mimicking small period changes.Comment: 11 pages, 15 figures, accepted for publication in A&
