Determining the Standard Value of the Oily Distortion of Acquisition the Fingerprint Images. This research describes a novel procedure for determining the standard value of the oily distortion of acquisition the fingerprint images based on the score of clarity and ridge-valley thickness ratio. The fingerprint image is quantized into blocks size 32 x 32 pixels. Inside each block, an orientation line, which perpendicular to the ridge direction, is computed. The center of the block along the ridge direction, a two-dimension (2-D) vector  V1 (slanted square) with the pixel size 32 x 13 pixels can be extracted and transformed to a vertical 2-D vector V2. Linear regression can be applied to the one-dimension (1-D) vector V3 to find the determinant threshold (DT1). The lower regions than DT1 are the ridges, otherwise are the valleys. Tests carried out by calculating the clarity  of the image from the overlapping area of the gray-level distribution of ridge and valley that has been separated. Thickness ratio size of the ridge to valley, it is computation per block, the thickness of ridge and valley obtained from the gray-level values per block of image in the normal direction toward the ridge, the average values obtained from the overall image. The results shown that the standard value of the oily distortion of acquisition the fingerprint image is said to oily fingerprint when the images have local clarity scores (LCS) is between 0.01446 to 0.01550, global clarity scores (GCS) is between 0.01186 to 0.01230, and ridge-valley thickness ratio (RVTR) is between 6.98E-05 to 7.22E-05. &nbsp

This research investigated “The Analysis of Gesture Used by Students of English Study Program in the Classroom Interaction at University of Sembilanbelas November, Kolaka”. The research problems were: what kinds of gesture that used by the students in the classroom interaction? And what are the functions of gesture which used by the students? With the objective of the research were to figure out several kinds of gesture that the students used in the classroom and to find out functions of gesture which used by the students. The method that used of this research was The Descriptive-Qualitative Method. The instruments that used in this research, those were observation and interview. The research participants in this research was the students of English Study Program and amounted to about 30 students, the lesson, as schedule in the fourth semester was Speaking Class, at the University of Sembilanbelas November, Kolaka. The results of this research concluded that, there were 29 kinds of the gesture which used by the students in the classroom interaction. And the functions of gesture were used by the students was also variously. But the functions of gesture were used by the students almost all of them were same. It was to show the sign of the tough-minded and stubborn individual, the interest of the student in the conversation, the student was lacking in self-confidence, courtesy and good attitude, showed disagreement, showed self-controlling, authority when argue, the persons' habitual, the persons' forgetfulness, the person's shy nature, the person's confident, showed self, the person enthusiasm when respond something, showed the courtesy, to disguise nervousness, to illustrate numbers, to clarify, gave comment, to express kept the confidence, to express the student felt nervous and insecure

This Research was designed to improve the students' ability in writing by Describing pictures. The problem of the research was “can describing pictures improve students' ability in writing?”. There were many kinds of strategies that could be used in teaching writing, but in this research, the researcher applied only describing pictures, and writing activities focusing on the kinds of activities. The design of this research was Collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR). Based on the analytical scoring rubric showed that from 63 in the first cycle and got increased to 73 in the second cycle. In the first cycle there were 13 Students of 30 students could reach the minimum score or only 43 % students were success. While in the last cycle there were 27 Students of 30 students could reach even greater that the minimum score or 90% students were success.Based on the conclusion of this research the researcher suggests some points. Firstly, describing pictures could be employed to improve the students' ability in writing. Secondly, it was suggested that the English teacher could apply describing pictures as one of the alternative techniques that could be used in the teaching of English to all skills especially writing

. This research aimed to explore the kinds of anxiety experienced by the students in learning speaking, and to examine the causes of the anxiety in learning speaking. This research employed descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research were 36 students consisting 19 females and 17 males selected to be research participants through conveniently selected sampling. The data of this research were collected by online questionnaire, and interview. The obtained data were analyzed in three major phases namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The result of the research revealed three kinds of anxiety experienced by the students in learning speaking namely trait anxiety, situational-specific anxiety, and state anxiety. Furthermore, the causes of speaking anxiety were communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation
