    The effect of L-arginine therapy on hepatocyte cells damage in mice (Mus musculus) model of preeclampsia

    Preeclampsia is one of the main contributors on morbidity and mortality of mother and fetus. Imbalance of body antioxidants and oxidants has a role on endothelial destruction causing endothelial dysfunction which leads to preeclampsia. L-arginine administration is indicated to be able to fix the remodelling process of hepatocytes which was damaged on preeclampsia. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of L-arginine on hepatocyte cells damage on mouse (Mus musculus) model of preeclampsia. Experimental study was conducted in the Experimental Animal Warehouse and Biomedical Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University, Surabaya. A total of 30 pregnant mice were divided into three groups with 10 mice in each group i.e. normal, preeclampsia model and preeclampsia model with L-arginine therapy pregnant mice. Preparates were taken from dissected mice liver, with prior paraffin block and were then stained with hematoxylin-eosin. Results were analyzed semi quantitatively with Manja Roenigk hepar histology scoring method. Data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis and Man-Whitney test. Mean of hepar histopathology score of preeclampsia model with L-arginine therapy (40.80±1.17/µm2) was significantly lower compared with preeclampsia model pregnant mice (58.80±4.23/µm2) (p<0.05), however it was significantly higher compared with normal pregnant mice (18.40±2.41/µm2) (p<0.05). It was indicated that the L-arginine therapy on preeclampsia mouse model can reduce the score of hepar histopathology. In conclusion, L-arginine administration can reduce the hepatocyte cells damage of mouse due to preeclampsia

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali dengan penerapan model Learning Cycle 5E dilengkapi worksheet. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan tiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMA N 3 Boyolali tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sumber data berasal dari guru, siswa dan observer. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan observasi, wawancara, tes dan angket, selanjutnya data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Learning Cycle 5E dilengkapi worksheetdapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi pokok hidrolisis garam. Pada siklus I, persentase kreativitas tinggi siswa adalah 50,00% dan meningkat menjadi 86,11% pada siklus II. Peningkatan prestasi belajar dapat dilihat dari aspek kognitif dan aspek afektif. Pada aspek kognitif, ketuntasan belajar siswa 66,67% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 88,89% pada siklus II dan aspek afektif menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan persentase dari 47,22% pada siklus I menjadi 80,50% pada siklus II

    This study aimed to analyze the effect of brand equity on the purchase decisions of consumers through brand preference Sony brand televisions in the city of Pekanbaru. This study used 112 samples. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis method is a way to test variables, regression test, and final test path analysis or path analysis. From the results of the testing that has been done, brand equity directly affect Consumer Buying Decision on Sony Television Products in Pekanbaru "is acceptable because the value of the regression is positive and t count> t table. Influential Brand Equity Against Indirect Consumer Purchase Decision Through Brand Preference on Sony Television Products in Pekanbaru "received as a result of the indirect effect of variables consisting of Brand Equity (Brand Awareness, Brand Association, Perceived Quality) on consumer purchasing decisions through more Brand Preference greater than the value of the direct influence of the variables consisting of Brand Equity (Brand Awareness, Brand Association, Perceived Quality) on consumer purchasing decisions through Brand Preference.     Pengaruh Substitusi Tepung Kedelai Dan Tepung Ikan Teri Terhadap Kadar Protein Dan Kalsium Crackers

    The study objective to determine the effect of substitution of soy flourl and flour anchovy in various proportions to protein and calcium crackers and acceptability in children under five. A preliminary study was conducted to determine two of the five most preferred panelists. Substitution is used soy flour and flour anchovy 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%. Having obtained two composition that produces the most preferred crackers followed by the main research to acceptability of children under five and analysis of protein and calcium. The difference in the preference panelists on crackers analyzed by Friedman test. Effect of soy flour and flour anchovy substitution on protein and calcium crackers used ANOVA. Differences acceptance crackers in toodler was analyzed with chi square test. The results showed crackers substitution soy flour and flour anchovy 5% and 10% favored panelists and toddlers. The energy of crackers substitution 5% is 421.97 Calories and substitution 10% was 429.59 Calories. The protein of crackers substitution 5% is 10.97 grams and the substitution of 10% is 17.1 grams. The calcium of crackers substitution 5% is 25,07mg and substitution of 10% was 37.6 mg. Substitution of flour soy and flour anchovy 5% and 10% increase protein and Calcium crackers. Making crackres should be substituted soy flour and flour anchovy 10%

    Potensi Hasil Galur-galur F1 Mandul Jantan Kapas pada Persilangan Alami

    Produksi benih varietas kapas hibrida dapat ditempuh dengan duacara, yaitu dengan persilangan manual dan dengan memanfaatkan galurmandul jantan (male-sterile line). Memproduksi benih kapas secarapersilangan manual memerlukan tenaga dan biaya yang tinggi, dan biayatersebut dapat dikurangi dengan menggunakan galur male steril. Penelitiandilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Balai Penelitian Tanaman Tembakaudan Serat, di Karangploso, Malang, Jawa Timur, dari bulan April sampaiOktober 2007. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi hasilgalur-galur mandul jantan kapas untuk memproduksi benih hibrida. Tigaaksesi kapas yaitu KI 487, KI 489, dan KI 494 yang memiliki persentasetanaman mandul jantan masing-masing 60,8%, 57,5%, dan 65% telahdigunakan sebagai donor sifat mandul jantan dan telah dilakukan introgresisifat mandul jantan dari ketiga aksesi tersebut ke varietas komersialKanesia 7, Kanesia 8, dan Kanesia 9 melalui persilangan pada tahun 2006dan diperoleh 9 set kombinasi persilangan. Pada tahun 2007, evaluasipotensi galur dilakukan terhadap 8 galur F1 mandul jantan, 3 tetua jantanyaitu varietas Kanesia 7, Kanesia 8, dan Kanesia 9, serta satu varietas baruyaitu Kanesia 12 sebagai pembanding yang disusun dalam rancangan acakkelompok yang diulang 3 kali. Plot percobaan berukuran 3 x 10 m 2dengan jarak tanam 100 cm x 25 cm; satu tanaman per lubang. Dosispupuk yang digunakan adalah 100 kg urea + 100kg ZA + 100kg SP 36 +100kg KCL per ha. Tidak dilakukan pengendalian hama denganinsektisida kimia selama penelitian. Pengamatan yang dilakukan adalahkemandulan benangsari secara visual dan mikroskopis, jumlah buah pertanaman, bobot buah, dan hasil kapas berbiji. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa pengamatan secara visual dan mikroskopis terhadapstruktur bunga menunjukkan bahwa semua individu tanaman dari 8 galurF1 yang diuji adalah mandul jantan. Jumlah buah galur mandul jantan 7 –96% lebih banyak tetapi ukuran buahnya lebih kecil dibandingkan denganKanesia. Galur-galur mandul jantan KI 494 x Kanesia 7 dan KI 494 xKanesia 8 memberikan hasil kapas berbiji paling tinggi masing-masing2.609kg dan 2.153kg per hektar dibandingkan dengan galur-galur lain,atau sebesar 94 % dan 95% dibandingkan dengan Kanesia 7 dan Kanesia8. Persilangan alami galur-galur tersebut bervariasi sebesar 51 – 95%
