The paper contains the description of Pyotr Ya. Galperin’s scientific biography stages. P.Ya. Galperin (1902–1988) is an outstanding Russian psychologist, the founder of an original psychological concept. The paper shows how P.Ya. Galperin’s scientific views were logically developing when he was working on the theory of gradual development of human intellectual activity that analyzes the process of constructing basic components of mental activity and creates the conditions for transforming the action into a psychological phenomenon. The biography is compiled on the basis of publications and talks of P.Ya. Galperin, the memories of colleagues and friends, using numerous archives. By now, only the main events in the life of a scientist have been marked. The paper presents the data that could be verified by referring to P.Yа. Galperin’s CV and data of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Psychology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, stored in the Archive of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and P.Yа. Galperin’s science archive passed by the grandson Yakov I. Abramson to the Archive of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The family archives failed to survive because of the frequent relocation, and P.Ya. Galperin did not write a detailed autobiography, so the task of clarifying the facts of his biography is relevant. All periods of P.Ya. Galperin’s scientific creative life are presented, his participation in scientific and practical events starting with the mid-1920s is mentioned. The 1930- 1940s are the most difficult years for event recovery. 55 years of professional and personal life (from 1943 and until his death in 1988) are associated with Lomonosov Moscow State University, therefore the focus is on P.Ya. Galperin as an outstanding Professor of Moscow University, i.e. the author of the original theory of the orientating nature and function of human mind, the organizing force in psychology. The conclusion highlights how the modern scholars are preserving the scientific heritage of P.Ya. Galperin

Two-year studies of variegated alfalfa (Medicago varia Mart.) of the following varieties and hybrids were carried out: Pastbischnaya 88, Taisia, Agnia VIC, 506 and SGP, as well as observations of their reaction to inoculation. Strains of nodule bacteria Sinorhizobium meliloti were used as inoculants: SHM1-105, 415, A-1, A-5, and a control variant without inoculation. As a result of research, it was revealed that the minimum length of stems in 2021 was fixed in the Pastbischnaya 88 + 415 variant, and amounted to 12.5 cm, in 2022 — Taisia with A1 and SHM1-105, 8.8 cm each. The maximum length of stems in 2021 was marked by a hybrid 506 in a combination of A1 and SHM1-105 strains, the indicator was 40.4 and 40.3, respectively, in 2022 — Agnia VIC + A5, 28 cm. In 2021, the Pastbischnaya 88 variety with the strain SHM1-105 turned out to be the most competitive, its share prevailed over the unseeded admixture, and reached 54.8%, in 2022 variant Agnia VIC + 415 was distinguished with this indicator, with a mass fraction of 65.45%. The positive effect of inoculation was revealed, the best symbiotic varietal microbial systems were determined. The strain of nodule bacteria 415 is marked by a complex effect on all varieties of variegated alfalfa. According to the yield of dry weight (3.3 t/ha on average), the Taisia variety and the SGP hybrid were distinguished

Analysis of educational system seems to be the most reasonable when the key points are reformation and modernization of education, since the mentioned processes are the response to transformations in adjacent social spheres caused in their turn by objective changes, which may include civilizational, transnational changes in education at national level. This article is devoted to the estimation of educational reforms in the context of contemporary civilizational changes. The research aimed to systematize the features of development of reforms in the field of education, to develop measures on coordination of activities among main participants in educational process, to determine its main features in the context of civilizational changes. It has been established that the key point is to detect balance between autonomous right of a university to render education and scientific studies for economy and society, and responsibility of state for assurance of quality, accountability, integrity, and availability of education. It has been proved that the education sector needs investment to improve learning and research conditions. Another issue is implementation of new forms of financing, including on competitive basis, to support interest and interaction between universities and business environment. It has been determined that new trends in cooperation should not only concern the development of innovations and commercialization but also attract employers to cooperation aiming at development of new or updating the existing learning programs

A new look at acid catalyzed deacetylation of carbohydrates : A regioselective synthesis and reactivity of 2-O-acetyl aryl glycopyranosides

Abstract In the present work we report that acetyl groups of per – acetylated aryl glycosides have different reactivity during the acidic deacetylation using HCl/EtOH in CHCl3, which leads to preferential deacetylation at O-3, O-4 and O-6. Thereby, the one-step preparation of 2-O-acetyl aryl glycosides with simple aglycon was accomplished for the first time. It was proved that the found reagent is to be general and unique for the preparation of series of 2-О-acetyl aryl glycosides. We have determined the influence of both carbohydrate moiety and the aglycon on the selectivity of deacetylation reaction by kinetic experiments. Using DFT/B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and semi-empirical АМ1 methods we have found that the highest activation barrier is for 2-О-acetyl group. This completely explains the least reactivity of 2-О-acetyl group.Peer reviewe

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic is an extraordinary challenge for all countries and affects the psychological wellbeing of healthcare professionals working with people suffering from COVID-19 and puts them at a high risk of mental health problems. The aim of the study was to identify stress-related factors that affect the mental health of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine. Subjects and methods: A total of 1098 Ukrainian healthcare workers were surveyed using an online questionnaire consisting of questions relating to a) socio-demographic characteristics; b) perceptions of the COVID-19 related situation; and c) stress and protective factors. Respondents were divided into two groups, depending on whether they provided care to the patients with COVID-19 or not. Results: Of the 1087 healthcare workers, 863 (79.4%) were found to have anxiety / fear caused by the COVID-19. No significant difference was detected between professionals who did and did not provide personal assistance to patients with COVID-19 concerning anxiety / fear related to COVID-19 (p=0.0776). Based on logistic regression model (χ2(6)=263.70, p=0.000) the most significant predictive factors for anxiety / fear caused by the COVID-19 were factors related to safety and risk perception (the risk of getting infected, dying, infecting loved ones, perception of the threat of the epidemic spread), information factors (constant news about COVID-19), as well as factors related to the organisation of care (lack of staff in health care facilities). Conclusions: Negative risk perception, high consumption of COVID-19 news, and shortage of staff in health care facilities were significant predictors of anxiety / fear caused by the COVID-19

BACKGROUND: There is an interaction between cell-mediated pathway of the vessel calcification and atherosclerosis processes. In some studies the relation beeen circulating osteogenic progenitor cells and cardiovascular diseases was shown. Though its role in the development of cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) in Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains unknown. AIM: To study the level of circulating endothelial (CD34 + VEGFR2 +) and osteogenic (CD34 + OCN +) progenitor cells in patients with CVD and T2DM. METHODS: We observed patients with CVD (coronary artery disease and / or chronic limb threatening ischemia) with T2DM and without T2DM. Patients with CVD and T2DM were included in group 1 patients with CVD and without T2D were included in group 2. The level of CD34 + VEGFR2 cells and CD34 + OCN+ cells was determined by flow cytometry. There were no differences in the age, gender, lipid profile, body mass index, creatinine clearance, myocardial revascularization and lower limb revascularization between the 2 groups. The level of CD34 + VEGFR2 cells and CD34 + OCN+ cells was determined by flow cytometry. The number of cells was determined by a percentage of the number of CD34+ cells. RESULTS: We observed 71 patients (38 women, mean age 67 years [62, 74]). Forty six patients were included in group 1 (28 women, mean age 68 years [63;75], 25 patients (10 women, 66 years [55;72]) were included in group 2. We found that in patients with CVD and T2DM demonstrated higher amounts of CD34+OCN+ cells than CD34+VEGFR2+ cells. (29.7% [26.2;36.1] and 11.8% [9.57;17.2], p<0.001). In the 1st group observed higher amounts of CD34+OCN+ cells, than in the 2d group (29.7 [26.2;36.1] и 25.6 [17.3;30.7] соответственно; p=0.035). Positive correlation was established between amount of CD34+OCN+ cells and atherogenic lipid fraction, LDL (r=0.4; р=0.032) and total cholesterol (r=0.27; р=0.05) in patients of group 1.While SYNTAX score tertiles and amount of CD34+OCN+ cells (r = 0.50, p=0.021) were the positive correlation. Between coronary artery calcium score and amount of CD34+OCN+ cells (r = 0.49, p=0.034) was the positive correlation. CONCLUSIONS: Acquired results may indicate the active role of CD34+OCN+ endothelial progenitor cells in atherosclerosis and vascular calcification in patients with T2DM

Fast and accurate determination of creatinine is critical in kidney function diagnostics. This paper discusses the usage of the metal-organic framework based on copper(II) and acetylenedicarboxylic acid (CuADCA) as a catalyst of electrochemical oxidation of creatinine, glucose and urea. CuADCA was synthesized by deprotonation with triethylamine for the first time. Successful synthesis was confirmed by FTIR and EDS. The material was characterized by SEM, EIS, and CV. CuADCA forms laminated-like flakes with diameter from 1 µm to 20 µm, which is consistent with the polymer-like structure. CV and EIS analyses showed that CuADCA immobilized on GCE acts as a catalyst in electrooxidation reaction of glucose, urea, and creatinine. The sensitivity of creatinine detection, 1057±99 µA/mM, was higher than the detection sensitivity of glucose and urea by more than 100 times with the limit of detection of 2 µM, so CuADCA is a promising material for further development of enzymeless sensors for creatinine
