Self field measurements by Hall sensors on the SeCRETS short sample CICC's subjected to cyclic load
An imbalance in the transport current among the strands of a Cable-in-Conduit conductors (CICC) can be associated with the change of their performance. In order to understand and improve the performance of CICC's, it is essential to study the current imbalance. This paper focuses on the study of the current imbalance in two short samples of the SeCRETS (Segregated Copper Ratio Experiment on Transient Stability) conductors subjected to a cyclic load in the SULTAN facility. The self field around the conductors was measured on four locations by 32 miniature Hall sensors for a reconstruction of the current distribution. The results of the self field measurements in the DC tests are presented and discussed
Vacuum energy induced by an impenetrable flux tube of finite radius
We consider the effect of the magnetic field background in the form of a tube
of the finite transverse size on the vacuum of the quantized charged massive
scalar field which is subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition at the edge
of the tube. The vacuum energy is induced, being periodic in the value of the
magnetic flux enclosed in the tube. Our previous study in J. Phys. A: Vol.43,
175401 (2010) is extended to the case of smaller radius of the tube and larger
distances from it. The dependence of the vacuum energy density on the distance
from the tube and on the coupling to the space-time curvature scalar is
comprehensively analyzed.Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures, journal version, abstract extended. arXiv admin

Two-particle multiplets splitting as a guideline in nucleon pairing estimations
The ground state multiplet structure for nuclei over the wide range of mass
number was calculated in -approximation and different mass
relations for pairing energy was analysed in this work. Correlation between the
calculated multiplet structure and experimental data offer a guideline in
deciding between mass relations for nucleon pairing.Comment: 6 pages, 2 fig., Proceedings of Intern. Session-Conference of the

Langmuir wave linear evolution in inhomogeneous nonstationary anisotropic plasma
Equations describing the linear evolution of a non-dissipative Langmuir wave
in inhomogeneous nonstationary anisotropic plasma without magnetic field are
derived in the geometrical optics approximation. A continuity equation is
obtained for the wave action density, and the conditions for the action
conservation are formulated. In homogeneous plasma, the wave field E
universally scales with the electron density N as E ~ N^{3/4}, whereas the
wavevector evolution varies depending on the wave geometry
Positron Lifetime Spectroscopy of Silicon Nanocontainers for Cancer Theranostic Applications
Biocompatibility and biodegradability of porous silicon (por-Si) nanoparticles (NPs), as well as the fact that they can selectively accumulate in tumor tissues, allow using them as containers for delivery of diagnostic markers or drugs for therapy of cancer tumors. Advantages of por-Si NPs as carriers of drugs are also favorable due to the high surface area and large pore volume. To apply por-Si NPs as nanocontainers it is necessary to have the comprehensive information about their porosity. In our work we use the positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) spectroscopy for porosity investigation. Samples of por-Si were prepared by electrochemical etching of heavily boron doped crystalline Si wafers in a hydrofluoric acid solution. The prepared por-Si films were dried and mechanically milled to obtain powder of NPs, which was pressed into tablets for PAL investigation. Ortho-positronium components of the measured positron lifetime spectra allowed us to evaluate the pore size distribution in por-Si NPs as continuous bimodal one with two peaks near 1 nm and 3 nm.
