    Myanmar named entity corpus and its use in syllable-based neural named entity recognition

    Myanmar language is a low-resource language and this is one of the main reasons why Myanmar Natural Language Processing lagged behind compared to other languages. Currently, there is no publicly available named entity corpus for Myanmar language. As part of this work, a very first manually annotated Named Entity tagged corpus for Myanmar language was developed and proposed to support the evaluation of named entity extraction. At present, our named entity corpus contains approximately 170,000 name entities and 60,000 sentences. This work also contributes the first evaluation of various deep neural network architectures on Myanmar Named Entity Recognition. Experimental results of the 10-fold cross validation revealed that syllable-based neural sequence models without additional feature engineering can give better results compared to baseline CRF model. This work also aims to discover the effectiveness of neural network approaches to textual processing for Myanmar language as well as to promote future research works on this understudied language

    Numerical Flow Analysis of an Axial Flow Pump

    This paper describes the detailed study of fluid flows in an axial pump that includes impeller and guide vanes. And the comparisons of flow simulations of the axial pump impeller with guide vanes and without guide vanes are carried out in this paper. In addition to this, the effect of number of guide blades on flow behaviours is analysed numerically. The computational results are performed by using one of CFD commercial software, Solidworks Flow Simulation. The input design data of the model pump are the flow rate of 0.2m3, head of 3m and the rotational speed of 1160 rpm. The outer and inner diameter of impeller is 0.3m and 0.15m respectively. . And the impeller with four blades is used in this paper. The guide blade number is varied to 5,7,9nbsp with the same input data and other geometric parameters keep constant. In this study, the nature of velocities and pressures in an axial flow pump is analysed. The comparisons are averaged flow velocities, static pressure rise, dynamic pressure and total pressure.nbs

    Performance Comparison between Two Interpretations of Missing Data using Matrix-Characterized Approximations

    Nowadays, the veracity related with data quality such as incomplete, inconsistent, vague or noisy data creates a major challenge to data mining and data analysis. Rough set theory presents a special tool for handling the incomplete and imprecise data in information systems. In this paper, rough set based matrix-represented approximations are presented to compute lower and upper approximations. The induced approximations are conducted as inputs for data analysis method, LERS (Learning from Examples based on Rough Set) used with LEM2 (Learning from Examples Module, Version2) rule induction algorithm. Analyzes are performed on missing datasets with “do not care” conditions and missing datasets with lost values. In addition, experiments on missing datasets with different missing percent by using different thresholds are also provided. The experimental results show that the system outperforms when missing data are characterized as “do not care” conditions than represented as lost values

    Numerical Investigation of Flow Profile and Performance Test of Cross-Flow Turbine

    The paper refers to the numerical analysis of the two stages of inlet and outlet blades of cross-flow turbine. A Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) steady state flow simulation has been performed using ANSYS CFX 17. Numerical method has also been used to calculate and predict the efficiency of the turbine. Velocity distribution and within the flow domain has been also characterized. The simulation includes flow domain and blades. The turbine has a specific speed of 44 (metric units), an outside runner diameter of 150 mm. Simulations has been carried out using k-ε turbulence model. The objectives of this study were to analyze the velocity of the Cross-flow within the runner and to characterize its performance for different runner speeds. The CFD simulations results were compared with experimental data and were consistent with turbine efficiency
