Manganese-based electrode materials are among the most favored due to their superior stability, resource non-criticality, and high electrode potentials. Although a large share of research was devoted to Mn-based oxides for Li- and Na-ion batteries, the understanding of thermodynamics and phase formation in Mn-rich polyanions is still generally lacking. In this study, we investigate a bifunctional Na-ion battery electrode system based on NASICON-structured Na1+2xMnxTi2-x(PO4)3 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.5). In order to analyze the thermodynamic and phase formation properties, we construct a composition-temperature phase diagram using a computational sampling by density functional theory, cluster expansion, and semi-grand canonical Monte Carlo methods. The results indicate finite thermodynamic limits of possible Mn concentrations in this system, which are primarily determined by the phase separation into stoichiometric Na3MnTi(PO4)3 (x = 1.0) and NaTi2(PO4)3 for x 1.0. The theoretical predictions are corroborated by experiments obtained using X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy on solid-state and sol-gel prepared samples. The results confirm that this system does not show a solid solution type behavior but phase-separates into thermodynamically more stable sodium ordered monoclinic α-Na3MnTi(PO4)3 (space group C2) and other phases. In addition to sodium ordering, the anti-bonding character of the Mn-O bond as compared to Ti-O is suggested as another important factor governing the stability of Mn-based NASICONs. We believe that these results will not only clarify some important questions regarding the thermodynamic properties of NASICON frameworks but will also be helpful for a more general understanding of polyanionic systems. ©ERDF (Project no. 01.2.2-LMT-K-718-02–0005); The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (Latvia), as the Centre of Excellence has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme H2020-WIDESPREAD-01-2016-2017-Teaming Phase2 under grant agreement No. 739508, project CAMART2

Standardized Reporting of Microscopic Renal Tumor Margins: Introduction of the Renal Tumor Capsule Invasion Scoring System

Purpose Renal tumor enucleation allows for maximal parenchymal preservation. Identifying pseudocapsule integrity is critically important in nephron sparing surgery by enucleation. Tumor invasion into and through the capsule may have clinical implications, although it is not routinely commented on in standard pathological reporting. We describe a system to standardize the varying degrees of pseudocapsule invasion and identify predictors of invasion. Materials and Methods We performed a multicenter retrospective review between 2002 and 2014 at Indiana University Hospital and Loyola University Medical Center. A total of 327 tumors were evaluated following removal via radical nephrectomy, standard margin partial nephrectomy or enucleation partial nephrectomy. Pathologists scored tumors using our i-Cap (invasion of pseudocapsule) scoring system. Multivariate analysis was done to determine predictors of higher score tumors. Results Tumor characteristics were similar among surgical resection groups. Enucleated tumors tended to have thinner pseudocapsule rims but not higher i-Cap scores. Rates of complete capsular invasion, scored as i-Cap 3, were similar among the surgical techniques, comprising 22% of the overall cohort. Papillary histology along with increasing tumor grade was predictive of an i-Cap 3 score. Conclusions A capsule invasion scoring system is useful to classify renal cell carcinoma pseudocapsule integrity. i-Cap scores appear to be independent of surgical technique. Complete capsular invasion is most common in papillary and high grade tumors. Further work is warranted regarding the relevance of capsular invasion depth as it relates to the oncologic outcome for local recurrence and disease specific survival

Darydamas šį Magistro baigiamąjį darbą siekiau išanalizuoti kaip ir kokius Web 2.0 technologijos sprendimus panaudojant yra kuriamos bendruomenės internete, pritaikytos mobiliųjų telefonų vartotojams. Tuo pačiu palyginti analogiškos paskirties, bet skirtingų kompanijų realizuotas internete vartotojų asmenines aplinkas. Išnagrinėti mobilaus ryšio vartotojų bendruomenės internete informacinės bazės kaupimo galimybes. Palyginti jau esamas, internete realizuotas mobilių telefonų vartotojams skirtas aplinkas, bei realizuoti universalių, mobiliųjų telefonų vartotojams skirtą, bendruomenės modelį. Kadangi Web 2.0 technologija yra palyginti naujas reiškinys, buvo naudinga bei įdomu ištirti jos įrankių bei technologijų panaudojimo galimybes bei naudą realizuojant bendruomenės modelį, siejant visus principus su paslaugomis, skirtomis mobiliųjų telefonų vartotojams. When I was doing this final Master thesis I had a purpose to investigate how and which Web 2.0 technology solutions can be used to create communities in the internet, which are designed for mobile phones users. Herewith, to compare personal environments for users with analogical purpose which are performed in different realization methods. Also, to investigate the information content storage facilities. To compare already realized environments of mobile phone users in the internet, and to implement the universal community model for these users in the internet. Web 2.0 is quite new technology, so it was useful and interesting to investigate the usage possibilities and benefit for implementing the community model, with associations to users of mobile devices.Vytauto Didžiojo universiteta

Evaluation of carrier opportunities of NCO women in The Lithuanian Armed Forces

Currently a concentration of NCO women in Lithuanian Armed Forces is in personnel, logistic and finance NCO positions. Their concentrations are observed in NCO positions in headquarters in lower level (squad and platoon), however women are rear in compare to men. Despite the fact that legislation is blameless, but for NCO women it is still demanding to have some deficiencies to advance in their carrier. The problem of research was to examine carrier deficiencies for NCO women in the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The object of research was NCO women carrier organization and situation in the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The aim of research was to analyze situation and opportunities for NCO women in the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The tasks of research were: to analyze carrier and equal opportunities theoretical aspects, to find reason women integration into military organizations, to identify theoretical and practical barriers for women carrier, to explain NCO carrier opportunities in the Lithuanian Armed Forces, to conduct evaluation of NCO by measuring gender equality in the Lithuanian Armed Forces, to conduct questionnaire and clarify NCO women carrier situation, to propose conclusions and proposals for development of NCO women carrier situation in the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The method of the research: science literature analysis, logical systemic analysis and summary method and a survey carried out through a questionnaire. According to summarized data it has been identified that NCO women could advance within the ranks in their carriers, however they have complex to combine their family and carrier matters. Challenge with men, leader’s discrimination view towards their issues is general problem in the Lithuanian Armed Forces. A shortage of political will to solve women carrier problems and consideration, that legislation will make things better unfold, that there was no progress in ten years regarding women carrier
