iPhone Application for Number Plate Recognition

Tato práce se zabývá teoretickou a praktickou stránkou tvorby aplikace pro mobilní zařízení Apple iPhone a jeho operační systém iOS. V teoretické části práce jsou obsaženy informace o historii zařízení, o nástrojích k tvorbě aplikací pro tuto mobilní platformu a stručně načrtnutý postup a proces, jakým je aplikace nasazena do samotného zařízení. Další část pojednáva o státních poznávacích značkách, jejich významu a integritních omezeních. Jádrem celé práce je praktická část, a tedy tvorba a implementace mobilní aplikace pro rozpoznávání těchto značek za podpory vestavěného fotoaparátu a její následná textová reprezentace, příp. další manipulace s tímto údajem. V závěrečné, no o nic méně důležité části práce zhodnotim výsledky, které tato aplikace přinese po testování a experimentování v různých podmínkách.This thesis talks about theoretical and practical side of development of application for Apple iPhone mobile cell phone and for its operating system called iOS. In theoretical part are contained informations about history of this device, about tools for creating application for this mobile platform and there is shortly sketched procedure and process how the application is deployed into the phone. Next part deals with the licence number plates, their signification and integrity restrictions. Main core of whole thesis is a practical part about creation and implementation mobile application for recognition of that number plates with supporting of built-in camera and its consecutive text representation or manipulation with that data. In the final part there is a review of results which this application brings after testing and experimenting in different conditions.

Intermunicipal Cooperation in Municipal Waste Management and Its Effects on Cost-Effectiveness

This paper focuses on intermunicipal cooperation and provides a new and innovative approach to evaluating the cost effectiveness and cost efficiency of municipal waste management. We examine a sample of 710 municipalities in two regions in the Czech Republic between 2014 and 2016. We investigated two forms of intermunicipal cooperation: joint public procurements and intermunicipal waste collection companies. The results, based on an ordinary least squares regression, show that cost reduction is significantly influenced by both forms of intermunicipal cooperation. The impact is stronger for small municipalities of fewer than 1,000 inhabitants

An external user interface with USB

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem uživatelského rozhraní, které komunikuje s hostitelským systémem přes USB. V úvodu práce jsou zmíněny existující alternativy takového zařízení. Následně je probrána základní teorie komunikace přes USB. Hlavním cílem práce je výběr hardwarových částí zařízení, jako je USB komunikátor, displej, LED, tlačítka a kompletní vývoj ovládací knihovny. Výsledkem práce je plně funkční zařízení s ovládací knihovnou.This work elaborates on development of simple user interface module which can communicate with host system via USB. Existing alternatives for this kind of device are described first, followed by basic theory of USB communication. Goal of the thesis is the selection of hardware parts , electrical and mechanical design of the device and implementation of the software library. The result of this work is functional device prototype complemented by fully-featured software library.

Winter Stadium PADOK IceRink - selected construction technological documents

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá stavebně technologickým projektem, který řeší výstavbu zimního stadionu Padok IceRing. Diplomová práce obsahuje návrh prostorové, technologické a časové struktury. Dále se autor zabývá jednotlivými fázemi zařízení staveniště a technologickým postupem ledové plochy. Autor zde navrhuje a posuzuje variantní řešení nosné konstrukce z hlediska časového, technologického a ekonomického a toto řešení porovnává s původní nosnou konstrukcí. Cílem této diplomové práce je navrhnout ekonomicky vhodné řešení výstavby v plynulé časové posloupnosti.The subject of this diploma thesis is Construction technology desing of Padok IceRing winter stadium. Before and after the Investigations: Wittgenstein on the Origin and End of Philosophy

This paper points to the relaton between Wittgenstein’s position and Kant’s transcendental dialectics with regard to the nature of philosophical problems and their roots in language, thinking and affinities of humans. Related to this, there is the question of function of philosophy which involves the removal of these problems, according to both authors. The author supports the thesis that, when it comes to Wittgenstein, it cannot be discussed about the end of philosophy if he considers that there is the natural affinity towards philosophical errors, the cause of which is the complexity of language. Therefore, the author criticizes the view according to which Wittgenstein speaks about antiphilosophy, that is, about the negative meaning of philosophical thought

Development of Human Capacities and the Legitimacy of State Intervention

Analiza polazi od Rawlsova stajališta da autonomne osobe u liberalnom društvu trebaju posjedovati dvije moralne moći – kapacitet koji se odnosi na smisao za pravdu te za formiranje, slijeđenje i reviziju koncepcije dobra. Politički ili neutralni liberalizam podržava opravdanost državne intervencije za poboljšanje prvog kapaciteta, ujedno proglašavajući utjecaj na drugi kapacitet nelegitimnim. Kritika ove pozicije izložena je kroz analizu stajališta Jonathana Quonga i Marthe Nussbaum, ukazujući na to da ona vode do dozvoljavanja iracionalnih i autoritarnih pozicija u obrazovanju, odnosno do zapostavljanja razvoja vrijednih kapaciteta. Premda institucionalni utjecaj može biti pristran i paternalistički, u pojedinim se slučajevima može ukazati na legitimnost institucionalne intervencije u osiguravanju uvjeta koji poboljšavaju sposobnost osoba da procjenjuju, preispituju i revidiraju vlastite koncepcije dobra.Analysis starts from Rawls’s disposition that in a liberal society autonomous persons should have two moral powers – the capacity for a sense of justice and the capacity to establish, pursue and revise the concept of the good. Political or neutral liberalism advocates the justification of state intervention to improve the first type of capacity while declaring the interference with the second capacity illegitimate. The critique of this disposition is done by analysing the perspectives of Jonathan Quong and Martha Nussbaum, showing that they lead to allowing irrational and authoritarian perspectives in education, that is, neglecting the development of valuable capacities. Although institutional influence can be biased and paternalistic, in some cases it may be legitimate for the institution to create conditions that enhance people’s ability to evaluate, reevaluate, and revise their conceptions of the good

Objektem analýzy jsou tištěné letáky pěti hypermarketů s největšími tržbami v České republice, kterými jsou Kaufland, Tesco, Interspar, Globus a Albert hypermarket. Analýza je založena na metodě „studia písemných dokumentů“. Na základě dostupných informací a shromážděných dat o struktuře letáků vybraných hypermarketů je zhodnocená letáková podpora prodeje ve sledovaném období od 30. října do 5. prosince roku 2013.The goal of this bachelor thesis is leaflet sales promotion analysis in the hypermarkets. The objects of the analysis are printed leaflets of the five hypermarkets with the greatest sales in the Czech Republic, which is Kaufland, Tesco, Interspar, Globus and Albert hypermarket. The analysis is based on method of ‘study of written document‘.
