Notas sobre os fundamentos da crítica de Theodor Adorno à indústria cultural

The present work aims to expose the main foundations of the critique of culture industry, carried out by Theodor Adorno in an essay of Dialectic of Enlightenment. To do that, we chose to present the most significant elements of his intellectual and aesthetic education in close relation to some central theoretical aspects of the text at hand. At first, the exposure is carried out by focusing on Adorno's historical context and some biographical information. Then, some of the philosophical assumptions of the essay are highlighted and related to the intellectual and aesthetic education of the philosopher. At last, the intention is that all the themes presented in this work form a constellation which reveals a significant and overall image of Adorno's critique of culture industry.O presente trabalho tem como objetivo expor os principais fundamentos da crítica à indústria cultural, realizada por Theodor Adorno em um ensaio da Dialética do esclarecimento. Para tanto, optamos por apresentar os elementos mais significativos de sua formação intelectual e estética em íntima relação com alguns aspectos teóricos centrais do texto em questão. Em um primeiro momento, a exposição é realizada com foco no contexto histórico de Adorno e em algumas informações biográficas. Em seguida, alguns dos pressupostos filosóficos do ensaio são colocados em evidência e relacionados à formação intelectual e estética do filósofo. Por fim, a intenção é que todos os temas apresentados neste trabalho formem uma constelação que revele uma imagem geral e significativa da crítica de Adorno à indústria cultural

Access and use of medicines by elderly individuals with dementia

The objective is to reveal the difficulties concerning the access and use of medicines by elderly individuals with dementia, reported by their caregivers. This qualitative study applied the participant observation method during pharmaceutical appointments performed in a specialized geriatrics service of the University Hospital of Brasília. Caregivers reported facing difficulties regarding the itinerary for medicines access in public pharmacies, as well as the high cost of these technologies in private establishments. Psychiatric symptoms, cognitive deficits, behavioral changes, apraxia, dysphagia, among other clinical manifestations of dementia syndromes, incapacitates the elderly for self-responsibility concerningthe use of drugs, which accentuates the complexity of medicines administration within the care process. In conclusion, it is fundamental to recognize caregivers’ role in promoting the rational use of medicines, and so this theme should be highlighted within the pharmaceutical services context

EDUCAÇÃO EM SAÚDE DA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA BRASILEIRA: UMA PESQUISA DOCUMENTAL NO CONTEXTO DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19

Considerando a educação em saúde como um componente fundamental no processo de cuidado no cenário da pandemia, essa pesquisa objetivou identificar as ações educativas que foram propostas no âmbito da atenção primária à saúde. Para tanto, foi realizada a análise dos documentos produzidos pelas Secretarias de Saúde dos estados e do Distrito Federal. No geral, esses documentos apresentaram orientações sobre a condução das atividades educativas por meio remoto utilizando diversos mecanismos tecnológicos. Os conteúdos citados com maior frequência corresponderam aqueles voltados à prevenção e ao controle da COVID-19 na comunidade. Os materiais educativos foram relacionados como instrumentos estratégicos na difusão de informações e no combate às fake news. Esse estudo contribui para a compreensão da educação em saúde na atenção primária no complexo cenário da pandemia da COVID-19.

Stabilization of angiotensin-(1-7) by key substitution with a cyclic non-natural amino acid

Angiotensin-(1-7) [Ang-(1-7)], a heptapeptide hormone of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), is a promising candidate as a treatment for cancer that reflects its antiproliferative and anti-angiogenic properties. However, the peptide’s therapeutic potential is limited by the short half-life and low bioavailability resulting from rapid enzymatic metabolism by peptidases including angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and dipeptidyl peptidase 3 (DPP 3). We report the facile assembly of three novel Ang-(1-7) analogues by solid-phase peptide synthesis which incorporates the cyclic non-natural δ-amino acid ACCA. The analogues containing the ACCA substitution at the site of ACE cleavage exhibit complete resistance to human ACE, while substitution at the DDP3 cleavage site provided stability against DPP 3 hydrolysis. Furthermore, the analogues retain the anti-proliferative properties of Ang-(1-7) against the 4T1 and HT-1080 cancer cell lines. These results suggest that ACCA-substituted Ang-(1-7) analogues which show resistance against proteolytic degradation by peptidases known to hydrolyze the native heptapeptide may be novel therapeutics in the treatment of cancer
