This paper emphasizes the importance of intonational studies, focusing on the final intonational contour in interrogative sentences in German and Brazilian Portuguese. Following considerations about intonation in general we present some observations about effects of intonation in such sentences at both syntactic and pragmatic levels.Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht die Relevanz der Intonationsforschungen in Hinsicht auf die Rolle des terminalen Konturs in Fragesätzen im Deutschen und im brasilianischen Portugiesisch. Gestão da continuidade de negócios: análise de impacto de negócio para Entidades Fechadas de Previdência Complementar (EFPC)

Este trabalho apresenta um estudo de caso, do projeto de Análise de Impacto de Negócio (BIA – Business Impact Analysis), realizado em Entidade Fechada de Previdência Complementar (EFPC) ao qual consiste de uma metodologia inserida dentro da Gestão de Continuidade de Negócio, que tem por finalidade a identificação de impactos e os processos vitais e críticos para o negócio das Entidades. Por meio da aplicação de questionários, preenchidos em reunião de entrevistas com os gestores dos processos, foram levantados os dados necessários para a identificação dos tempos toleráveis de interrupção e restabelecimento, antes que os impactos possam ser concretizados, podendo causar prejuízos financeiros e danos à imagem da instituição. Todos os dados levantados ao logo do preenchimento dos questionários foram identificados para a Entidade os processos aos quais são vitais e críticos além os recursos necessários para uma contingência, tais como posições de trabalho, número mínimo de pessoas, tecnologia e informações. Todas as informações levantadas foram apresentadas à diretoria da empresa. Por fim o estudo de caso apresenta todas as etapas aos quais chegaram aos processos vitais de críticos da Entidade

A alteridade através de Michel Henry

This article describes how Michel Henry conceives the relationship between alterity and Christianity. It begins by emphasizing the critical warning that Henry makes regarding the consequences of forgetting the ontological being. The article revisits the notion of alterity according to Henry as well as the author's look on the relationship of alterity with Christianity. By emphasizing the relationship with the other, in the transcendence of the being that solidifies the relation and establishes alterity, the article highlights the body and the otherness in the phenomenological flow of life. Thus, the complexity of the visible and the invisible, of the representation and the essence, natural to human beings who are Son and always in place of equality, stands out.O artigo descreve o modo como Michel Henry percebe a relação entre a alteridade e o cristianismo. Começa por destacar a crítica advertência que Henry faz quanto às consequências do esquecimento do ser ontológico. O artigo relembra a noção de alteridade segundo Henry e, seguidamente, o olhar do autor sobre a relação da alteridade com o cristianismo. Dando destaque à relação com o outro, na transcendência do ser que solidifica a relação e estabelece a alteridade, o artigo evidencia o corpo e a alteridade no fluxo fenomenológico da vida. Assim ressalta a complexidade do visível e do invisível, da representação e da essência, próprias do ser humano que é Filho e sempre em lugar de igualdade

A internet na Educação e o dilema de uma nova linguagem na construção do sujeito

O objetivo deste estudo é analisar a crise da sociedade tecnológica a partir dos elementos constitutivos da educação e da linguagem digital, tentando compreender o abismo existente entre elas. Nesse sentido, entendemos a linguagem virtual como a ideologização de uma técnica. Por outro lado, a historicidade do ensino-aprendizagem presencial, considerando o contexto do espírito grego, da ilustração e da modernidade, faz pressupor uma educação, na Sociedade da Informação, mais distanciada da formação para a cidadania. Discutindo a possibilidade da Internet como instrumento de consolidação de uma nova linguagem de inclusão, procuramos também debater a sua possibilidade de contribuição para dirimir a crise do trabalho no modelo socioeconômico do capitalismo de consumo reinante. Por fim, valorizaremos o processo filosófico da linguagem que tem acompanhado essa mudança, realizando um debate da razão prática, quanto à contingência das normas ou da moral sem obrigações. Enfim, refletiremos sobre uma atitude da filosofia contemporânea para a questão tecnológica, na instauração de uma linguagem pluralista e a possibilidade de uma ética compatível para um mundo digital que reencontre o sujeito contemporâneo

Physiologic and psychological changes in old age considerable in dental treatment

O envelhecimento faz parte de um processo natural do organismo. Em muitos países, o grupo que cresce mais rapidamente é o de idade mais avançada, refletindo o resultado de novas terapias, estratégias preventivas e programas de controle de natalidade. Nesta etapa da vida, é comum surgirem algumas limitações físicas e, isto pode influenciar no aspecto psicológico alterando a rotina de alguns pacientes e seus familiares. O propósito deste trabalho foi apresentar mudanças ocorridas na terceira idade, através de uma revisão de literatura, correlacionando-as ao tratamento odontológico. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe aging is part of natural process in organism. Effect of essential oils against acaricide‐susceptible and acaricide‑resistant Rhipicephalus ticks

The indiscriminate use of acaricides is a problem worldwide and has increased the selection of acaricide-resistant tick populations. The goal of this study was to evaluate the acaricide effects of two essential oils (from Schinus molle and Bulnesia sarmientoi) using the larval immersion test on three Rhipicephalus tick species. Rhipicephalus evertsi, Rhipicephalus appendiculatus and Rhipicephalus pulchelus ticks collected in Kenya, without history of acaricide exposure, were tested, as well as individuals from two populations of Rhipicephalus microplus (with or without history of acaricide exposure), for comparison. The sample most resistant to the treatments was a population of R. microplus with previous acaricide exposure, whereas the least tolerant sample was a strain of the same species that never had contact with acaricides (Porto Alegre strain). Interestingly, the field tick samples without previous acaricide exposure responded to essential oils with a mortality profile resembling that observed in the acaricide-resistant R. microplus field population, and not the susceptible Porto Alegre strain. The essential oil of B. sarmientoi and its two components tested (guaiol and bulnesol) caused the highest mortality rates in the tested species and are potential molecules for future studies on control methods against these species

Macroinvertebrates associated with bryophyta in a first-order Atlantic Forest stream

This study describes the composition and structure of the benthic community associated with bryophytes in a first-order stream, located in a biological reserve of the Atlantic Forest, during two seasons. During three months of the dry season of 2007 and three months of the rainy season of 2008, samples of bryophytes attached to stones were collected randomly, along a 100 m stream reach. The structure of the community was analyzed through the mean density of individuals, Shannon's diversity index, Pielou's evenness, family richness, dominance index, and the percentage of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera (% EPT). Chironomidae larvae were dominant in the two periods of study, followed by Ceratopogonidae in the rainy season, and Naididae in the dry season. The orders EPT contributed 14 families. The results showed that bryophytes constitute suitable habitat which is able to shelter an abundant and diversified benthic fauna in a small extension of the stream. This habitat provides refuge during spates, and thus minimizes downstream transport of the macroinvertebrate fauna.

Injuries to Crossfit practitioners: narrative review

Introdução: O CrossFit tem como pilar o desenvolvimento do condicionamento físico e está se difundindo entre a população, tanto em modalidades competitivas quanto não competitivas. O treinamento faz uso de três padrões para orientar o condicionamento físico: desenvolvimento de habilidades, como resistência e força; bom rendimento em toda atividade; e competência e desenvolvimento das vias determinantes do condicionamento metabólico. Objetivo: Reunir os tipos mais frequentes de lesões provocadas pela prática de CrossFit e as causas e os fatores de risco para o desenvolvimento destas. Metodologia: A revisão da literatura foi realizada ao longo dos meses de outubro e novembro de 2021, por meio das bases de dados PubMed, BVS, LILACS e IBECS, utilizando os termos MeSH “high intensity interval training”, “sports injury” e “injury”. Resultados: Foram inseridas 8 publicações neste estudo, após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão e foi confeccionada uma tabela com os principais achados de cada estudo. Os resultados encontrados foram subdivididos em 4 grupos relacionados a: MMSS; MMII; tronco e coluna; fatores de risco para lesões. As lesões de ombro e joelho são as mais prevalentes, e há necessidade de mais estudos sobre lesões de coluna e tronco. No que tange aos fatores de risco para o desenvolvimento de lesões, as correlações entre tempo de prática do CrossFit, frequência de treinos e participação de competições não são bem definidas. Conclusão: As prevalências das lesões divergem entre os estudos, todavia as lesões de ombro são mais predominantes em MMSS, joelhos, em MMII e região lombar, na coluna vertebral. Apesar da literatura escassa sobre o tema, torna-se evidente a necessidade de acompanhamento por meio de profissionais capacitados para evitar a ocorrência de lesões.Introduction: CrossFit is a training program based on fitness development which has been gaining popularity, both in its competitive and non-competitive modes. The training uses three standards to guide physical conditioning: development of skills, such as endurance and strength; good performance in all tasks; and competency and training of pathways that determine metabolic conditioning. Objective: To assess the most frequent types of injuries associated with CrossFit training and the causes and risk factors for their occurrence. Methodology: The literature review was conducted between October and November 2021 in the PubMed, BVS, LILACS and IBECS databases, using the MeSH terms “high intensity interval training”, “sports injury” and “injury”. Results: After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, eight studies were used in the review and a table with the main findings of each one was created. The results found were divided into 4 groups, referring to: upper limbs; lower limbs; trunk and spine; and risk factors for injuries. Shoulder and knee injuries were the most prevalent, and there is a need for further studies on spinal and trunk injuries. As for risk factors for the occurrence of injuries, the correlations between CrossFit experience, training frequency, and participation in competition are not well defined. Conclusion: The studies found different values of prevalence, but agreed that shoulder injuries were more prevalent in the upper limbs, knee injuries in lower limbs, and lumbar injuries in the spine. Despite the scarcity of literature on the subject, there is a clear need for the supervision of trained professionals in order to avoid injuries
