Orbital magnetization and its effect in antiferromagnets on the distorted fcc lattice
We study the intrinsic orbital magnetization (OM) in antiferromagnets on the
distorted face-centered-cubic lattice. The combined lattice distortion and spin
frustration induce nontrivial -space Chern invariant, which turns to result
in profound effects on the OM properties. We derive a specific relation between
the OM and the Hall conductivity, according to which it is found that the
intrinsic OM vanishes when the electron chemical potential lies in the Mott
gap. The distinct behavior of the intrinsic OM in the metallic and insulating
regions is shown. The Berry phase effects on the thermoelectric transport is

Is There Only One Solution of the Dyson-Schwinger Equation for Quark Propagator in the Case of Non-zero Current Quark Mass
In this letter it is shown on general ground that there exist two
qualitatively distinct solutions of the Dyson-Schwinger equation for the quark
propagator in the case of non-zero current quark mass. One solution corresponds
to the ``Nambu-Goldstone'' phase and the other one corresponds to the
``Wigner'' phase in the chiral limit.Comment: 7 page

Factors Predicting Survival in Patients with Proximal Gastric Carcinoma Involving the Esophagus
AIM:
To investigate the clinicopathologic features which predict surgical overall survival in patients with proximal gastric carcinoma involving the esophagus (PGCE).
METHODS:
Electronic pathology database established in the Department of Pathology of the Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital was searched for consecutive resection cases of proximal gastric carcinoma over the period from May 2004 through July 2009. Each retrieved pathology report was reviewed and the cases with tumors crossing the gastroesophageal junction line were selected as PGCE. Each tumor was re-staged, following the guidelines on esophageal adenocarcinoma, according to the 7th edition of the American Joint Commission on Cancer Staging Manual. All histology slides were studied along with the pathology report for a retrospective analysis of 13 clinicopathologic features, i.e., age, gender, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, surgical modality, Siewert type, tumor Bormann's type, size, differentiation, histology type, surgical margin, lymphovascular and perineural invasion, and pathologic stage in relation to survival after surgical resection. Prognostic factors for overall survival were assessed with uni- and multi-variate analyses.
RESULTS:
Patients' mean age was 65 years (range: 47-90 years). The male: female ratio was 3.3. The 1-, 3- and 5-year overall survival rates were 87%, 61% and 32%, respectively. By univariate analysis, age, male gender, H. pylori, tumor Bormann's type, size, histology type, surgical modality, positive surgical margin, lymphovascular invasion, and pT stage were not predictive for overall survival; in contrast, perineural invasion (P = 0.003), poor differentiation (P = 0.0003), > 15 total lymph nodes retrieved (P = 0.008), positive lymph nodes (P = 0.001), and distant metastasis (P = 0.005) predicted poor post-operative overall survival. Celiac axis nodal metastasis was associated with significantly worse overall survival (P = 0.007). By multivariate analysis, ≥ 16 positive nodes (P = 0.018), lymph node ratio > 0.2 (P = 0.003), and overall pathologic stage (P = 0.002) were independent predictors for poor overall survival after resection.
CONCLUSION:
Patients with PGCE showed worse overall survival in elderly, high nodal burden and advanced pathologic stage. This cancer may be more accurately staged as gastric, than esophageal, cancer
Prevalence, incidence and mortality of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy based on a population cohort of 21.9 million in China
There are limited studies on the prevalence and incidence of clinically diagnosed hypertrophic myocardiopathy (HCM) and its mortality in the Chinese population, and the projected population burden of HCM over the next decades. We collected data on HCM and its mortality from the Beijing Municipal Health Commission Information Center (BMHCIC) database and estimated the prevalence and incidence based on the whole Beijing population. Calculation of population trends was performed using annual percentage change (APC) and average annual percentage change (AAPC). Finally, future HCM incidence was built by modelling projection of HCM to the next decades using Poisson regression analysis and Gray Model 1,1(GM [1,1]). The prevalence of HCM was 0.0069% (95%CI, 0.0065–0.0072%; N = 1343) in 2010, rising to 0.076% (95% CI, 0.074–0.077%; N = 16,616) in 2019, and the incidence of HCM was 6.85 per 100 000 person-year in 2010, rising to 11.76 per 100 000 person-year in 2019. Males had higher prevalence and incidence of HCM than females. The APPC for the rising incidence of HCM was 5.8% and the expected numbers will double increase in 2029 by assuming the same increase trend as the last decades. HCM had increased annual incidence of HF (APPC: 8.4, 4.4–12.6, p 0.05) during the studied period. Males had lower mortality (2.70% vs. 4.20%, p < 0.001) than females. The calculated HCM prevalence was much lower compared to prior screening studies from 2004, although the predicted HCM incidence would double over the next decades. cDNA Cloning and Expression Pattern of Homolog of Alpha Subunit of Platelet-Activating Factor Acetylhydrolase Ib from the Chinese Oak Silkworm, Antheraea pernyi
Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of platelet-activating factor (PAF). A homolog of alpha subunit of PAF-AH(Ib) from Antheraea pernyi (Guérin-Méneville) (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) (ApPAFAHIbα) was isolated and characterized. The obtained cDNA sequence was 1843 base pairs (bp) long with an open reading frame (ORE) of 678 bp encoding 225 amino acids. The predicted amino acid sequence shared several conserved features of PAF-AHs of other organisms, and revealed 88, 60, and 46% identity with the homologues of Bombyx mori, Drosophila melanogaster, and Homo sapiens, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that lepidopteran PAFAHIbαs including ApPAFAHIbα might be a new member of the PAF-AHs family of insects. Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis showed that the ApPAFAHIbα gene was transcribed at four developmental stages and expressed in all tissues tested
Measurement of proton electromagnetic form factors in in the energy region 2.00-3.08 GeV
The process of is studied at 22 center-of-mass
energy points () from 2.00 to 3.08 GeV, exploiting 688.5~pb of
data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The
Born cross section~() of is
measured with the energy-scan technique and it is found to be consistent with
previously published data, but with much improved accuracy. In addition, the
electromagnetic form-factor ratio () and the value of the
effective (), electric () and magnetic () form
factors are measured by studying the helicity angle of the proton at 16
center-of-mass energy points. and are determined with
high accuracy, providing uncertainties comparable to data in the space-like
region, and is measured for the first time. We reach unprecedented
accuracy, and precision results in the time-like region provide information to
improve our understanding of the proton inner structure and to test theoretical
models which depend on non-perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics
Interface-engineered ferroelectricity of epitaxial Hf\u3csub\u3e0.5\u3c/sub\u3eZr\u3csub\u3e0.5\u3c/sub\u3eO\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e thin films
Ferroelectric hafnia-based thin films have attracted intense attention due to their compatibility with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technology. However, the ferroelectric orthorhombic phase is thermodynamically metastable. Various efforts have been made to stabilize the ferroelectric orthorhombic phase of hafnia-based films such as controlling the growth kinetics and mechanical confinement. Here, we demonstrate a key interface engineering strategy to stabilize and enhance the ferroelectric orthorhombic phase of the Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 thin film by deliberately controlling the termination of the bottom La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 layer. We find that the Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 films on the MnO2-terminated La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 have more ferroelectric orthorhombic phase than those on the LaSrO-terminated La0.67Sr0.33MnO3, while with no wake-up effect. Even though the Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 thickness is as thin as 1.5nm, the clear ferroelectric orthorhombic (111) orientation is observed on the MnO2 termination. Our transmission electron microscopy characterization and theoretical modelling reveal that reconstruction at the Hf0.5Zr0.5O2/ La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 interface and hole doping of the Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 layer resulting from theMnO2 interface termination are responsible for the stabilization of the metastable ferroelectric phase of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2. We anticipate that these results will inspire further studies of interface-engineered hafnia-based systems

We search for radiative decays into a weakly interacting neutral
particle, namely an invisible particle, using the produced through the
process in a data sample of
decays collected by the BESIII detector
at BEPCII. No significant signal is observed. Using a modified frequentist
method, upper limits on the branching fractions are set under different
assumptions of invisible particle masses up to 1.2 . The upper limit corresponding to an invisible particle with zero mass
is 7.0 at the 90\% confidence level
