    Investigation of the Photophysical Properties of a Eu3+ Coordination Polymer Bearing an α-Nitrile Substituted β-Diketonate Ligand via Emission and Ultrafast Transient Absorption Spectroscopy

    Reaction of the β-diketone ligand, 2-cyano-1,3-phenyl-1,3-propandione (LH), with hydrated EuCl3 in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen), results in the crystallisation of a one-dimensional Eu3+ coordination polymer of formulation [Eu(Phen)(L)3]∞, formed by coordination of the nitrile group of an O,O′-bound ligand to a neighbouring metal centre. An investigation of the metal-centred emission of the polymer, both in the solid state and solution, revealed red emission characterised by relatively long-lived excited state lifetimes and high intrinsic quantum yields. However, analysis of the overall quantum yield and sensitisation efficiency reveals that ultrafast processes in the ligand potentially inhibit Eu3+ sensitisation. Further investigations into these processes using transient absorption spectroscopy suggest that substitution at the α-C position may significantly decrease sensitisation via the antenna effect

Aspects of the morphological features  and  clinical cases of tumors GIST are described. The survey methodology, describes  methods of surgical treatment and results are recommended.В статье представлены понятия о GIST-опухолях, их распространенности, месте в общей структуре онкологической заболеваемости. Затронуты аспекты морфологических особенностей опухоли и клинические случаи заболевания опухолями GIST. Приведены рекомендуемые методики обследования, описаны  способы  хирургического лечения и их результаты.

    Профилактика послеоперационных осложнений после робот-ассистированной трансабдоминальной преперитонеальной пластики: клинический случай

    Introduction. Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most common elective surgeries today. In our clinic, the majority of inguinal hernia repairs are performed laparoscopically. The most frequent complication after transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair is postoperative seroma.Materials and methods. A 35-year-old patient C. with a right-sided inguinal hernia sought medical care in our clinic. He underwent robot-assisted TAPP with fluorescence lymphography using indocyanine green (ICG).Results and discussion. The present paper describes the possible relationship between intraoperative damage of the lymphatic vessels within the spermatic cord induced by robot-assisted transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair and postoperative development of inguinal seroma. 5 mg/ml of indocyanine green was injected into the testicle on the side with the hernial bulge to visualize the lymphatic vessels. In this case such procedure is safe and feasible. Due to the tight fusion of the hernia sac with two visualized lymphatic vessels, they were excised during surgery. In the early postoperative period, an ultrasound scan revealed a subclinical seroma in the inguinal region of approximately 10 ml.Conclusion. A case series of ICG fluorescence lymphography during robot-assisted TAPP should be performed further to elucidate the relationship between lymphatic vessel damage and hydrocele.Введение. Одной из наиболее часто выполняемых плановых операций на сегодня является паховое грыжесечение. В нашей клинике бóльшая часть паховых грыжесечений выполняется лапароскопическим методом. Наиболее частым осложнением после трансабдоминальной преперитонеальной пластики паховых грыж является возникновение послеоперационных сером.Материалы и методы. В наше отделение обратился пациент С. 35 лет с правосторонней паховой грыжей. Ему была выполнена робот-ассистированная ТАРР с флуоресцентной лимфографией с применением индоцианина зеленого (ICG).Результаты и обсуждение. В статье описывается возможная связь между интраоперационной травмой лимфатических сосудов в составе семенного канатика во время выполнения робот-ассистированной трансабдоминальной преперитонеальной пластики паховой грыжи и развитием сером паховой области в послеоперационном периоде. С целью визуализациии лимфатических сосудов был использован препарат индоцианин зеленый 5 мг/мл, который был введен в яичко на стороне грыжевого выпячивания. Данная процедура безопасна и выполнима в данном случае. В связи с плотным сращением грыжевого мешка и двух визуализированных лимфатических сосудов в ходе операции последние были иссечены. В раннем послеоперационном периоде с помощью ультразвукового исследования выявлена субклиническая серома в паховой области объемом около 10 мл.Заключение. В качестве следующего шага для выяснения связи между повреждением лимфатических сосудов и водянкой яичка следует провести серию случаев флуоресцентной лимфографии ICG во время робот-ассистированной ТАРР

    Synthesis and spectroscopy of anionic tridentate benzimidazole-pyridine carboxylate and tetrazolate chromophore ligands

    We report on seven new anionic benzimidazole-pyridine carboxylate and tetrazolate tridentate (NNO)-N-boolean AND-O-boolean AND and (NNN)-N-boolean AND-N-boolean AND ligands that are modified with chromophore (phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl) and solubilizing groups. The ligands are UV chromophores with the lowest-energy absorption maxima at 312-335 nm and with the molar absorption coefficients of (20-25) x 10(3) M-1 cm(-1) in DMSO solution. The ligands form neutral complexes with trivalent lanthanides and sensitize the red luminescence of europium. The triplet state energies of the deprotonated ligands, which were measured from the phosphorescence spectra of their lanthanum complexes at 77 K, are in the range of (18.8-21.1) x 10(3) cm(-1). We also describe synthesis of non-symmetric pyridines that are 2,6- and 2,4,6-substituted with hydroxymethyl, carboxaldehyde, and carbonitrile groups. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

    We report on charge- and ion-transport ionic hosts made from an imidazolium-cation-modified aryl-1,2,4-triazole, phosphineoxide-carbazole, and phosphineoxide. The hosts are white solids that have short-wavelength absorption cut-off at 28,200 cm(-1)) and that exhibit oxidation at (-2.75) V against ferrocene with a wide redox gap of >3.9 V.     Cationic bis-cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes [(C boolean AND N)(2)Ir(N boolean AND N)](PF6) with 2-(2'-pyridyl)-5-R-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (N boolean AND N; R = 1-adamantyl, mesityl, N-diphenylamino) have a redox gap of 2.58-2.68 V and exhibit orange-red phosphorescence in argon-saturated dichloromethane solution with a maximum, quantum yield, and excited-state lifetime of 613-644 nm, 2-6%, and 90-280 ns.     Cationic cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes [(N,C-2'-2-phenylpyridyl)(2)Ir((NN)-N-boolean AND)](PF6) with alkyl-substituted 1-(2'-pyridyl)-pyrazole (NN)-N-boolean AND ligands exhibit green phosphorescence from a cyclometalating-ligand-centered excited state with structured emission spectrum and with quantum yield and excited-state lifetime of up to 26% and 1.4 mu s in argon-saturated dichloromethane solution. The alkyl groups do not change the energy or the nature of the emissive state; however, those alkyl groups that hinder coordination of the (NN)-N-boolean AND ligand to iridium(III) strongly quench phosphorescence of the complex.
