We also define a Liouville field, which is a field generated by a Liouville set.     Several Research Studies in the world have measured the Quality of Work of Employee’s in Industries, Universities, Schools, Government and Non Government Organizations. This research study highlights the quality of work life of college teachers under various dimensions. New Challenges can be faced with employee’s commitment and involvement in achieving organizational goals. This study helps the college teachers to know the level of perception towards QWL and to enhance the same by the educational administrators.. Quality of Work Life is the essential concept of favorable situations in a working environment. The Quality of Work Life facilitates employee’s training opportunities, job satisfaction and working conditions. A better Quality of Work Life improves the growth of the employee’s along with the organization growth. The universe of the study includes 12 colleges located within the Tiruchirappalli city limit and 1279 college teachers were working during May 2008 – February 2009. A sample of 239 respondents was collected from the universe. The collected data after being coded were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social sciences Research (SPSS) and various statistical tests were applied based on hypotheses and matching variables. There is a significant association between quality of work life total and quality of life in teaching environment total.     While many integrable spin systems are known to exist in (1+1) and (2+1) dimensions, the integrability property of the physically important (2+1) dimensional isotropic Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin system in the continuum limit has not been investigated in the literature.     High-throughput virus-induced gene-silencing approach to assess the functional relevance of a moisture stress-induced cDNA homologous to lea4

    The abiotic stress-responsive cDNA database and their expression profiles suggest that stress genes are many and diverse. However, characterization and validation of their functional significance has been a constraint to assessing their role in imparting tolerance. Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) is a potential option for assessing the functional significance of stress genes. Here the effectiveness of VIGS to silence the expression of an ABA-responsive lea4 (late embryogenic abundant) gene involved in stress tolerance is documented. In the present study, low moisture-stress protocols were developed in such a way that the plants experienced the desired stress level when silencing the target stress gene using VIGS was at a maximum. The functional relevance of a groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) subtracted-stress cDNA clone putative lea4 was examined by VIGS in tomato. A 400 bp fragment of lea4 was cloned into tobacco rattle virus-based VIGS vector to trigger post-transcriptional gene silencing by Agrobacterium-mediated inoculation in tomato plants. In silenced plants only lea4 transcripts showed a substantial decline, whereas the expression of other known stress-responsive genes such as apx (ascorbate peroxidase) and elip (early light-induced protein) were unaltered. Under moderate moisture stress, the silenced plants showed enhanced susceptibility as measured by cell viability, superoxide radical activity, and cell osmotic adjustment. This approach illustrates the potential benefits of VIGS in identifying functional relevance of low moisture stress-responsive genes. It is also demonstrated that heterologous probes with a fairly high degree of homology to the native genes can be used to study the functional relevance of stress-responsive genes using VIGS

    Sidha acuta Burm. f belonging to family Malvaceae is a terrestrial, erect shrub which is up to 155 cm tall. The plant is native to Mexico, Central America and Himalayan region of India but has spread throughout the tropics and subtropics. Sida acuta Burm. f is widely distributed in pantropical areas and is widely used as traditional medicine in many cases. Among illnesses the plant is may be used alone or in combinations with other plants to cure fever, skin diseases, snake bites, Hemorrhoids, impotency and for boils and eye cataracts. Although the plant has been screened and suggested for various therapeutic activities its photocomposition remained unrevealed because of very restricted amount of research work carried out. Thus it was thought worthwhile to explore this endangered plant on the basis of various standardization parameters.     INVESTIGATION ON START-UP CHARACTERISTICS OF CRYOGENIC HEAT PIPES

    ABSTRACT Heat pipe is a device which transfers heat from one location to another with a small temperature gradient. Application includes use of cryogenic heat pipe in cooling infrared sensors, laser systems, cryocoolers, thermal control large superconducting magnets and tumor surgery. This paper deals with transient behavior of cryogenic heat pipes with wire mesh and axial grooved wick using nitrogen and oxygen as working fluid. A special liquid nitrogen cryostat has been designed and developed for evaluating the transient behavior of heat pipes at 77 K when the condenser portion is connected to the cold sink externally. In this study, the start-up characteristic of heat pipes is experimentally investigated. Keywords: cryogenic heat pipe, start up behavior.     Active Vibration Control of Structures using an Impedance Matching Control Technique

    Active vibration control of structures has gained a lot of interest in recent years. This paper presents an active vibration control methodology of a structure using piezoelectric actuators. The proposed methodology is useful in practical applications where the system to be controlled is difficult to model due to the presence of complex boundary conditions. The impedance matching control technique uses a power flow approach wherein the controller is designed such that the power flow into the structure is minimized. The system transfer function is obtained from the experimental collocated actuator/sensor pair data using Eigen Realisation Algorithm (ERA). The controller is designed for the system transfer function according to impedance matching theory. The above approach is targeted towards the vibration control of wind tunnel stings, which suffer from flow-induced vibration. A wind tunnel sting model is designed and fabricated for this study. The real time implementation of the impedance matching controller has been carried out using dSPACE® Digital Signal Processor (DSP) card.
