Reorganisation der industriellen Beziehungen im europäischen Mehrebenensystem
"In der Europäischen Union vollzog sich in den 90er Jahren eine Wiederbelebung und Transformation korporatistischer Arrangements. Hierbei handelt es sich um einen doppelten Reorganisationsprozess, der einerseits durch die markt- und wettbewerbsgetriebene Modernisierung der europäischen Ökonomie, andererseits zugleich aber auch durch spezifische Formen der Konzertierung und Kompromissbildung auf betrieblicher, nationaler und europäischer Ebene bestimmt ist. Die bestehenden Regelsysteme und Kompromissstrukturen werden demnach einem erhöhten Wettbewerbsdruck ausgesetzt, ohne dass allerdings die Beteiligung und Einbindung der Beschäftigten und Gewerkschaften grundsätzlich in Frage gestellt wird. Da die neuen Formen der sozialen Konzertierung und korporatistischen Interessenaushandlung jedoch stark asymmetrisch strukturiert sind, bleibt ihre Funktionsweise prekär." Existing systems of regulation and conflict resolution were therefore exposed to increased pressure from competition, but without challenging the participation and involvement of employees and trade unions in principle. Quantum control and entanglement in a chemical compass
The radical pair mechanism is one of the two main hypotheses to explain the
navigability of animals in weak magnetic fields, enabling e.g. birds to see the
Earth's magnetic field. It also plays an essential role in the field of spin
chemistry. Here, we show how quantum control can be used to either enhance or
reduce the performance of such a chemical compass, providing a new route to
further study the radical pair mechanism and its applications. We study the
role of quantum entanglement in this mechanism, and demonstrate intriguing
connections between radical-pair entanglement and the magnetic field
sensitivity of the compass. Beyond their immediate application to the radical
pair mechanism, these results also demonstrate how state-of-the-art quantum
technologies could potentially be used to probe and control biological

Correlation of chromosomal imbalances by comparative genomic hybridization and expression of EGFR, PTEN, p53, and MIB-1 in diffuse gliomas
The histological subclassification of gliomas is increasingly assisted by the underlying molecular genetics which has major importance in guiding clinical management of the disease. However, the assessment of several molecular events for improving clinical care remains a challenge. Herein, we report on comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) and immunohistochemical (IHC) assessment of EGFR, PTEN, p53, and MIB-1 expression in 13 oligodendrogliomas (10 WHO grade II, 3 WHO grade III), one oligoastrocytoma (WHO grade III) and 23 high-grade astrocytomas Q WHO grade III, 20 glioblastoma multiforme). The most frequent imbalances in oligodendroglial tumors including the oligoastrocytic case were, in decreasing order of frequency, +7q, -1p, and -4q and in astrocytomas +7q, -10q, +7p, -9p, -10p, +20q, and +20p. Some individual imbalances were associated with increasing numbers of chromosomal changes, that were +7q in both oligodendrogliomas and astrocytomas, and -9p, -10q, +20p, and +20q in astrocytomas. The markers p53 and MIB-1 were significantly higher expressed in astrocytomas than in oligodendrogliomas and expression levels of p53 and EGFR were inversely associated within the astrocytic group. In addition, p53 overexpression correlated positively with +7q and negatively with -1p in the oligodendroglial group whereas EGFR overexpression correlated positively with -1p in the oligodendroglial and positively with +7p and -10p in the astrocytic group. Short overall survival was significantly associated with +7p and -10q in astrocytomas. Collectively, these results contribute to the increasing clinical relevance of assessing tumor biological markers in gliomas
Myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma: investigations by comparative genomic hybridization of two cases and review of the literature
Myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma (MIFS) is a rare low-grade sarcoma of the distal extremities characterized by a myxohyaline stroma, a dense inflammatory infiltrate and virocyte- and lipoblast-like giant cells. Up to now, only two cases have been investigated cytogenetically, showing complex and heterogeneous karyotypes, in part with supernumerary ring chromosomes. We characterized two further cases of MIFS immunohistochemically and performed comparative genomic hybridization as well as DNA image cytometry analyses. Both tumors showed the characteristic histomorphological pattern of MIFS and were positive for Vimentin and CD68. Moreover, both cases presented aberrant karyotypes including distinct DNA copy number changes involving chromosome 7 and disclosed DNA aneuploid
Einsatzmöglichkeiten der Kernenergie zur Deckung des Wärmebedarfs einer hochindustrialisierten Region und die sich daraus ergebenden Strukturänderungen : dargestellt am Beispiel Nordrhein-Westfalen
Die vorliegende Studie gibt einen Überblick über die mögliche Verwendung der Kernenergie, speziell der Hochtemperaturreaktor-Technologie, auf dem Wärme- und Elektrizitätsmarkt einer hochindustrialisierten Region. Es wird gezeigt, inwieweit die Kernenergie eine Chance bietet, die fossilen Primärenergieträger Kohle, Erdöl und Erdgas zu substituieren, damit diese ihrer in Zukunft an Bedeutung gewinnenden Rolle als Rohstoff in stärkerem Umfang gerecht werden können. Neben einer Beschreibung der Einsatzmöglichkeiten und des Einsatzpotentials für Hochtemperaturreaktoren in NRW werden die sich aus dem Einsatz ergebenden Konsequenzen im betriebs- und regionalwirtschaftlichen Bereich, sowie auf dem Sektor Umwelt untersucht

Даются рекомендации по выбору необходимого числа машинных экспериментов при решении конкретных задач исследования и оптимального проектирования методом ПЛП-поиска, позволяющего осуществлять глобальный квазиравномерный просмотр заданной области варьируемых параметров и применить формальные оценки из математической статистики.Recommendations about the choice of necessary number of machine experiments at the solution of specific objectives of a research and optimum design are made by method of the PLP-search allowing to carry out global quasi uniform viewing of the set area of the varied parameters and to apply formal estimates from mathematical statistics
