This study aims to determine the application of prudential principles in Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT). The case study was conducted on the distribution of funding in Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT) Daarut Tauhiid (DT) Bandung using data from January 2018 until Ocotober 2019. From research conducted by author in BMT Daarut Tauhiid, found that the principle of prudence on channeling of financing in BMT Daarut Tauhiid absolutely applied. This is realized in the form of adherence to the values of sharia in financing. Such as the application of the contract principle in accordance with the contract of sale, the profit sharing agreement and the lease agreement. The application of prudential principles is a regulatory requirement. In every channeling of financing, BMT Daarut Tauhiid always uses the standard of assessment commonly used in the banking sector, namely 5 C, character, capacity, condition. capial and collateral. Aspects of 5 C are interrelated between one another can not stand alone. Therefore, by analyzing 5C accurately and thoroughly then the overall possibility of non-performing financing risks can be minimized. However, in its implementation BMT Daarut Tauhiid has a very high NPF Non Perfoming Finance level of up to 9%. This is because BMT Daarut Tauhiid which has a background boarding pesantren Daarut Tauhiid. So Its strongly influenced by the performance conditions of institutions or business entities in Daarut Tauhiid. While one of the financing partners of BMT Daarut Tauhiid are institutions or Business Entities in Pondok Pesantren Daarut Tauhiid

Constraints to the Use of Global System of Mobile Communication (GSM) by Crop Farming Household in South-west Nigeria
Farmers face constraints in farming activities with differing impacts in terms of type and dept. The, relatively recent, GSM introduction in Nigeria has eased the conduct of business activities including agricultural business with elimination of hitches in the communication system. This study assessed constraints to the use of GSM in farm activities of crop farming households in South-west Nigeria. Two out of six States’ Agricultural Development Programmes (ADPs) in South-west Nigeria namely Oyo and Osun States were selected for the study. 130 farmers were randomly sampled from two randomly selected agricultural zones in the (selected) State ADPs. Primary data was obtained with the use of well-structured questionnaire through interviews of respondents. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and chi-square techniques were used in data analysis. Result revealed that males (79.2%) dominated crop farming in the study area. The major constraints in GSM use by farmers were network coverage (31.58%) and financial (36.84%). All (100%) of the farmers asserted that using GSM in farm business activities is worthwhile and a necessity. Furthermore, the constraints to effective use of GSM by farmers differed significantly for different levels of socio-economic variables such as farm household expenditures and income (p \u3c 0.01 respectively). It was recommended that any action plan to tackle constraints to GSM use by farmers must take into consideration farmers’ dynamics such as differences in social interactions, farm households’ expenditures and income as well as cultivation practices. Consequently, it is expected that enhanced technology and extension information dissemination to crop farmers will be achieved

Rural-Urban Differentials in the Attitude of Global Systems of Mobile Communication (GSM) Consumers to Merits and Demerits of GSM Technology in Ogun State, Nigeria
The advent of the Global System of Mobile Communication (GSM) in Nigeria has become the order of most day-to-day activities; however, consumers of GSM services through the use of cellular phones are faced with numerous problems in making use of the GSM technology. This study examined the attitude of respondents to the merits and demerits inherent in the use of cellular phones in rural and urban Ogun State of Nigeria. 70 respondents were randomly selected and interviewed in two local government areas of the State using a well-structured questionnaire, out of which 66 data set were eventually found useful. Data were collected and analyzed using simple descriptive [averages and percentages] and Chi-square statistics. Gender distribution shows significant difference in both locations at 5% probability level (p \u3c 0.05), however the respondents were predominantly male. Significant proportion of the urban dwellers (at 5% probability level i.e. p \u3c 0.05) were more learned (formally) than the ones in the rural area while the distribution of vocation of respondents was significantly different in both location at 1% probability level (p \u3c 0.01) with most respondents being farmers in the rural area. Both rural and urban respondents believed cellular phone use is advantageous with a slightly higher index for urban location than for the rural location. Furthermore, respondents in the urban location viewed cellular phone technology as disadvantageous with respect to health implications indicating a slightly higher index than for the respondents in the rural location. Therefore, it was recommended that more attention should be paid to educating the populace on the safe use of cellular phones in all locations of the study area

Cocoa farming households’ vulnerability to climate variability in Ekiti State, Nigeria
Rural livelihoods in south western Nigeria are at risk to climate variability on the short run and climate change on the long run. This subjects agro ecological niches to high sensitivity and exposure thus reducing the adaptive capacity. Vulnerability results and the cocoa farming households, the major contributors to the Nigerian non-oil foreign exchange earnings are not exempted. This paper therefore attempts to assess the degree of vulnerability of cocoa farmers in Ekiti State to climate variability hazards using the Integrated Vulnerability Assessment Approach (IVAA). Multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 120 cocoa farmers from whom data were generated for this study. Data were processed using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA).The result indicated that Cocoa farmers in Ekiti North, Ekiti South and Ekiti Central Agro Ecological Zones (AEZs) had the vulnerability index of -0.05, -0.76 and 0.82. This implies the first two zones are more relatively vulnerable as compared to the Ekiti Central AEZ. This is attributable to the higher exposure, sensitivity and the lower adaptive capacity in the Ekiti North and South AEZs in relation to the Central. The relative low level development and poor adaptive capacity in terms of access to basic infrastructure, technology, institutions and pervading poverty in the first two AEZs can be held accountable for this. All efforts should be in put in place by all relevant agencies to promote integrated rural development that enhances investment in infrastructure and alleviation of poverty. National regulations that restrict anthropogenic activities inimical to climate variability should be put in place. Efforts should equally be made by our national government to endorse and key-in to international treaties and protocols that control climate variability and change
Improved output voltage quality using space vector modulation for multilevel inverters
Space vector modulation (SVM) has received wide acceptance due to many benefits over other techniques such as higher output voltages, lower total harmonic distortion (THD), high-efficiency and flexible to be implemented in vector control systems. In digital implementation, the SVM equations can be optimally computed by eliminate the use of complex forms. In this paper, the simple SVM based on twolevel inverter is employed for higher levels of inverters. This is to retain the simplicity of SVM computation for three-level and five-level cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHMI). Moreover, the proposed method utilizes two controller boards to perform high computational workloads and to eliminate glitch and error problems. Experiment results show that the THD of output voltage in five-level CHMI gives the smallest value among the results obtained from other levels
