Oosagitta gen. nov. from tropical Africa, with revision of two species and description of four new species (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae, Galerucinae)
After our taxonomic revision of Ootheca Chevrolat, 1837, and the description of Oothecoides Kortenhaus & Wagner, 2011 and Ootibia Kortenhaus & Wagner, 2012, it became clear that a further four galerucine species, closely related to the above named taxa, form a distinct monophyletic group, that constitutes a new genus, Oosagitta gen. nov. with O. anningae sp. nov., O. geescheae sp. nov., O. melanopicta sp. nov. and O. thomasi sp. nov.. Exosoma angolensis LaboissiĂšre, 1939, the type species of the new genus, and Ergana minuta LaboissiĂšre, 1937 are newly transferred to Oosagitta gen. nov. All species of Oosagitta gen. nov. are characterized by a broad body and pronotum, a more or less convex dorsum and short legs, and as such are most similar to the other above named genera. The antennae of Oosagitta gen. nov. are distinctly longer than those of Ootheca, Oothecoides and Ootibia. Genital structures of the males allow a reliable identifi cation of the genus. (Re-) descriptions are given for all species, including semi-schematic illustrations depicting the habitus outline, shape of the basal antennomeres and the median lobe. Photographs of the name-bearing types and distribution maps are provided
A Denotational Semantics for Communicating Unstructured Code
An important property of programming language semantics is that they should
be compositional. However, unstructured low-level code contains goto-like
commands making it hard to define a semantics that is compositional. In this
paper, we follow the ideas of Saabas and Uustalu to structure low-level code.
This gives us the possibility to define a compositional denotational semantics
based on least fixed points to allow for the use of inductive verification
methods. We capture the semantics of communication using finite traces similar
to the denotations of CSP. In addition, we examine properties of this semantics
and give an example that demonstrates reasoning about communication and jumps.
With this semantics, we lay the foundations for a proof calculus that captures
both, the semantics of unstructured low-level code and communication.Comment: In Proceedings FESCA 2015, arXiv:1503.0437
Response functions as quantifiers of non-Markovianity
Quantum non-Markovianity is crucially related to the study of dynamical maps,
which are usually derived for initially factorized system-bath states. We here
demonstrate that linear response theory also provides a way to derive dynamical
maps, but for initially correlated (and in general entangled) states.
Importantly, these maps are always time-translational invariant and allow for a
much simpler quantification of non-Markovianity compared to previous
approaches. We apply our theory to the Caldeira-Leggett model, for which our
quantifier is valid beyond linear response and can be expressed analytically.
We find that a classical Brownian particle coupled to an Ohmic bath can already
exhibit non-Markovian behaviour, a phenomenon related to the initial state
preparation procedure. Furthermore, for a peaked spectral density we
demonstrate that there is no monotonic relation between our quantifier and the
system-bath coupling strength, the sharpness of the peak or the resonance
frequency in the bath.Comment: Updated version with additional information. 5 + 5 pages incl. 2

Mixed sneutrino dark matter in light of the 2011 XENON and LHC results
In the context of supersymmetric models in which small Dirac neutrino masses
are generated by supersymmetry breaking, a mainly right-handed (RH) mixed
sneutrino can be an excellent cold dark matter (DM) candidate. We perform a
global analysis of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM)+RH neutrino
parameter space by means of Markov Chain Monte Carlo scans. We include all
relevant constraints from collider and dark matter searches, paying particular
attention to nuclear and astrophysical uncertainties. Two distinct cases can
satisfy all constraints: heavy sneutrino DM with mass of order 100 GeV, as well
as light sneutrino DM with mass of about 3-6 GeV. We discuss the implications
for direct and indirect dark matter searches, as well as for SUSY and Higgs
searches at the LHC for both, the light and the heavy sneutrino dark matter
case. The light sneutrino case is excluded by the 125-126 GeV Higgs signal.Comment: 38 pages, 13 figures; v3: appendix added, minor corrections, note
