Shock Strength in a Thermally Radiative Gas
The strength of the shock in a thermally radiative gas has been calculated for the steady flow of gas under the condition that the gradient of total pressure vanishes on the flow side of the shock
On transformation formulas for theta hypergeometric functions
Using an identity and certain summation formulas for truncated theta hypergeometric series, we establish transformation formulas for finite bilateral theta hypergeometric series.За допомогою однiєї тотожностi та формул пiдсумовування скорочених гiпергеометричних тета-рядiв встановлено формули перетворення для скiнченних двостороннiх гiпергеометричних тета-рядiв
Multivariate shift invariant operators
AbstractAn unexpected connection between a certain class of exponential approximation operators and polynomial sequences of binomial type was discovered by Ismail (J. Approx. Theory (3) 23 (1978), 117–186). In this paper we present a multivariate analogue of shift invariant operators connected with Sheffer type polynomials
Velocity Distribution in the Annuli of a Plane Reverse-Flow Combustor Model
This paper reports the yclodity profiles and flow distribution in the annuli of a plane reverse-flow gas turbine GOmbustor model. Based on these, flow-split through different liner holes and swirlers has been estimated. it is seen that percentage flow-split through the outer liner surface holes, compared to that through liner dome and inner liner surface holes, is not affected significantly by increase in theinlet flow velocity
Comparison between Adductor Pollicis and Orbicularis Oculi as Indicators of Adequacy of Muscle Relaxation for Tracheal Intubation Following Rocuronium Induced Neuromuscular Block: Randomized Comparative Clinical Trial
Background: The purpose of this study was to verify which muscle among the Adductor Pollicis (AP) and Orbicularis Oculi (OO) is a better predictor of optimal intubating condition after administration of Rocuronium. Methods: In this prospective, double blind, randomized study, 80 adult ASA –I and ASA – II undergoing general anaesthesia with tracheal intubation were allocated to two groups (n = 40) according to the reference muscle (AP or OO) used to determine the appropriate intubation time. Induction of anaesthesia was achieved with Inj Thiopentone 5mg/kg, Inj Fentanyl 2 mcg/kg and Inj Rocuronium 0.6mg/kg for muscle relaxation. Supramaximal Train Of Four (TOF–Guard acceleromyograph, neuro muscular monitor) stimulation of the ulnar nerve and facial nerve every 15 secs was used to monitor the neuromuscular block. After Train Of Four responses disappeared at Adductor Pollicis muscle or Orbicularis Oculi muscle, tracheal intubation and quality of intubation assessment was performed by an independent anaesthesiologist. Intubating conditions were scored on a Kreig et al scale. Results: Onset time at Orbicularis Oculi was significantly shorter than Adductor Pollicis muscle (P < 0.001), but adequate intubating condition were significantly increased in the Adductor Pollicis (Excellent – 87.5%, Good – 12.5%, Poor – 0%) compared with Orbicularis Oculi (Excellent – 27.5%,Good – 45%,Poor – 27.5%) after a dose of 0.6mg/kg of Rocuronium (P < 0.001)Conclusion: After administration of Rocuronium, twitch monitoring at Orbicularis Oculi allows a faster intubation but is associated with an unacceptable incidence of inadequate intubating condition . Adequate intubating conditions were observed with Adductor Pollicis muscle. Hence Monitoring neuromuscular activity of the Adductor Pollicis using Train of Four to determine the appropriate tracheal intubation time and condition is more clinically relevant than monitoring the Orbicularis Oculi muscle
Ichthyofaunal diversity in Bachan Gad and Kakda streams of the Mid-himalayan Ganga river system of Garhwal in relation to stream gradient and distance
The present study was carried out to investigate the comparative seasonal distribution and relative abundance of fish fauna of streams Bachan Gad of river Alaknanda and Kakda Gad of river Mandakini of Mid-himalayan Ganga river System. Total length of the Bachan Gad is 14.5 km from origin to the confluence at main river Alaknanda with an altitudinal variation from 605.94 to 1418.23m (a.s.1), whereas, total length of the Kakda Gad is 15.5 km. from origin to confluence at main river Mandakini with altitudinal variation from 984.50 to 1993.70 m (a.s.1). Total 23 species from Bachan Gad and 20 fish species were identified from Kakda Gad. The differences in the availability of fish-fauna were directly related to the nature of the profile and slope of tributaries; which affects the migration and breeding grounds of the fishes inhabited in the main river Alaknanda and Mandakini of Ganga river system. Variation in the availability of fishes has been recorded from different sites of the stream. In streams and rivers the changes take place along their length is directly related to the eco-physico-chemical nature (water depth, current, substratum etc). All these factors which change along the length of streams are also the factors which control the distribution of the various sections of the biotic fauna and flora
Solar Cell Powering with Integrated Global Positioning System for SWARM Robot System
A new concept of a Solar Cell powering with integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) for SWARM (Small World Autonomous Robots for Micro-manipulation) is proposed. The main idea is to use a projector to transfer energy and to provide global positioning information to the robots that are equipped with photodiodes on their top. We project a white image showed a scavenged power of 100 to 200 watts normally tungsten bulbs commercially available in market. Based on the global positioning system, the projector sends regularly a sequence 17 images and the robots decodes them using two photodiodes in order to calculate its own position and orientation inside a defined arena. KEY INDEX: Photodiodes, Powering (Normally 100W – 200watts tungsten bulbs), GPS-Here called EGO-Positioning and Swarm Robotic
Budgetary Management and Control of Finance and Economic Cooperation Organization in Mettu Woreda of Ilu Ababor Zone: An Assessment
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the gaps in budget management and control in the Finance and Economic Cooperation Office in Mettu Woreda of Illu Ababora zone, Oromia. This investigation is focused on eight purposely selected sectors and Finance & Economic Cooperation Office. From the total population, (Kothari 2004) formula was used to determine sample of respondents. For the purpose of data collection the management team along with workers of Budget and Finance & Economic Cooperation Office of Mettu, the workers of poverty eradicates sectors and standing committee of finance in the woreda were selecte
