A study was conducted to evaluate, under commercial conditions, the effect of a high feed intake during mid-gestation on postnatal growth performance and meat quality of the progeny. Sows from 1 to 7 parities were divided into two treatments, control (C) and experimental (E). C sows received 3.0 kg/day (12 MJ of ME/kg) througout all gestation and E sows (E) received +50% and +75% extra feed from 45 to 85 days of gestation for first-parity and multiparous sows, respectively. This treatment (T) was applied thoughout two reproductive cycles (2 replicates; n=103 sows in replicate 1 and n=96 in replicate 2). The offspring (barrows) were divided in 5 weight groups (WG) and reared conventionally throughout nursery (n=958) and growing-finishing (n=636) periods. During the nursery period, E pigs exhibited higher growth rates (ADG) than C group (333 g/d vs 316 g/d, p<0.05) in replicate 1 and a higher feed efficiency (G:F) than C group (0.48 vs 0.47, p<0.05) in replicate 2. However, this differences disappeared in the growing-finishing period. The pigs of the lightest weight groups seemed to be the most benefited by the additional maternal feed allowance. At slaughter, E pigs in replicate 1 showed a higher carcass and ham weight. These pigs also showed a higher pH at 24 hours postmortem in the semimembranosus muscle and lower lightness values in the longissimus muscle than C pigs, and this fact was consistent in both replicates. Overall, increasing feed allowance from 45 to 85 days of gestation had slight effects on growth performance and lead to differences on meat quality traits at market weight

The Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area Survey: spatial resolved properties

We present the analysis performed using the pyPipe3D pipeline for the 895 galaxies that comprises the eCALIFA data release Sanchez et al. submitted, data with a significantly improved spatial resolution (1.0-1.5"/FWHM). We include a description of (i) the analysis performed by the pipeline, (ii) the adopted datamodel for the derived spatially resolved properties and (iii) the catalog of integrated, characteristics and slope of the radial gradients for a set of observational and physical parameters derived for each galaxy. We illustrate the results of the analysis (i) using the NGC\,2906 as an archetypal galaxy, showing the spatial distribution of the different derived parameters and exploring in detail the properties of the ionized gas, and (ii) showing distribution of the spatial resolved ionized gas across the classical [OIII]/Hβ\beta vs. [NII]/Hα\alpha for the whole galaxy sample. In general our results agree with previous published ones, however, tracing radial patterns and segregating individual ionized structures is improved when using the current dataset. All the individual galaxy dataproducts and the catalog discussed along this article are distributed as part of the eCALIFA data release http://ifs.astroscu.unam.mx/CALIFA_WEB/public_html/Comment: 47 pages, 8 tables, 9 figures, submitted the 12th of April 2023 to RMxA

Although for years ago, pedagogues and teachers have advocated more innovative methodologies than those that were being developed in schools, it is, at this moment, when most fervently, something is being removed in a large part of the teachers that are leading to wanting to change the current teaching-learning processes, wanting to innovate and trying new pedagogical approaches. Project work (PW) is a clear example of these new pedagogical perspectives that are increasingly being implemented in classrooms. Give theoretical foundation to this active and innovative methodology, theoretically support the teaching practice around project work and propose an intervention model based on the methodological principles that support it, are the general objectives or results expected at the end of the review process of the available evidence, on the relationship between the methodological principles that guideteaching practicefor the development of Project Work(construction ofsignificant learning, learning functionality, ability to learn to learn, modification of the knowledge schemes that the student already has intense activity on the part of the student -observation, experimentation, research-, individualization, socialization, positive self-concept, motivation, play, globalization) and the success of the teaching learning process. The search was concentrated on articles published between 1998 and 2017, which are synthesized in a table that examines interventions that have been carried out with the aim of promoting PW with the subsequent aim that it improves the teaching process- learning. The body of evidence reviewed yields results of interventions that have been proven to be effective in promoting PW within the curriculum of any educational level / modality, suggestingthat there is a causal relationship where PW predicts the success of the educational process (Funds were received from the MOBILITY RESEARCHERS UVa BANCO SANTANDER 2020).Aunque desde años atrás, pedagogos/as y maestros/as han defendido metodologías más innovadoras que las que se estaban desarrollando en las escuelas, es, en este momento, cuando de manera más ferviente, se está removiendo algo en gran parte del profesorado que está llevando a querer cambiar los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje actuales, queriendo innovar y probando nuevos enfoques pedagógicos.

The generation of 3D models of buildings has been proved as a useful procedure for multiple applications related to energy, from energy rehabilitation management to design of heating systems, analysis of solar contribution to both heating and lighting of buildings. In a greater scale, 3D models of buildings can be used for the evaluation of heat islands, and the global thermal inertia of neighborhoods, which are essential knowledge for urban planning. This paper presents a complete methodology for the generation of 3D models of buildings at big-scale: neighborhoods, villages; including thermographic information as provider of information of the thermal behavior of the building elements and ensemble. The methodology involves sensor integration in a mobile unit for data acquisition, and data processing for the generation of the final thermographic 3D models of urban environment
