Differential Reactivity of [TpRu(Îș2P,N-iPr2PXPy)Cl] (X = NH, S) Bearing Hemilabile Coligands Towards NaBArF 4, Lithium Acetylide, and Acetylenes
In contrast with [TpRu(Îș2P,N-iPr2PNHPy)Cl] (1a, Tp = trispyrazolylborate), [TpRu(Îș2P,N-iPr2PSPy)Cl] (1b) reacts with sodium tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate (NaBArF 4) in fluorobenzene under nitrogen to afford the dinuclear complex [{TpRu(Îș2P,N-iPr2PSPy)}2(ÎŒ-Cl)][BArF4] (1b ). Through diverse synthetic strategies, a series of neutral acetylides [TpRu(C CR)(Îș2P,N-iPr2PXHPy)] [X = NH; R = Ph (2a), SiMe3 (2b); X = S; R = Ph (2c), p-C6H4Br (2d), COOMe (2e)], cationic vinylidene complexes [TpRu(=C=CHR)(Îș2P,NiPr2PNHPy)]+ [X = NH; R = Ph (3a), SiMe3 (3b); X = S; R = Ph (3c), p-C6H4Br (3d)] and [TpRu(=C=CH2)(Îș2P,N-iPr2PNHPy)]+ (3e), and a cationic η2-alkyne complex [TpRu(η2- HC CCOOMe)(Îș2P,N-iPr2PSPy)][BArF 4] have been efficiently synthesized from 1a and 1b. The methoxy(methyl)- carbene complexes [TpRu{=C(OMe)CH3}(Îș2P,N-iPr2PXPy)]- [BPh4] [X = NH (5a), S (5b)] were isolated from the reactions of 1a and 1b with acetylene gas in the presence of NaBArF4 in methanol. The deprotonation of the cationic vinylidenes derived from 1b with KtBuO affords the corresponding neutral acetylide complexes, which undergo facile protonation with CF3SO3H to reproduce the cationic vinylidenes quantitatively
Open-Source Synthesizable Analog Blocks for High-Speed Link Designs: 20-GS/s 5b ENOB Analog-to-Digital Converter and 5-GHz Phase Interpolator
Using digital standard cells and digital place-and-route (PnR) tools, we
created a 20 GS/s, 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for use in
high-speed serial link applications with an ENOB of 5.6, a DNL of 0.96 LSB, and
an INL of 2.39 LSB, which dissipated 175 mW in 0.102 mm2 in a 16nm technology.
The design is entirely described by HDL so that it can be ported to other
processes with minimal effort and shared as open source.Comment: 2020 IEEE Symposium on VLSI Circuit
Supersymmetry spectroscopy in stop-chargino production at LHC
We consider the process of associated stop-chargino production in the MSSM at
LHC and show that, at the simplest Born level, the production rate is
dramatically sensitive to the choice of the benchmark points, oscillating from
potentially "visible" maxima of the picobarn size to much smaller, hardly
"visible", values. Adopting a canonical choice of SM type CKM matrices, we also
show that in some "visible" cases the total rate exhibits a possibly relevant
dependence on tan(beta).Comment: 23 pages, 18 eps figure
The legal role of medical professionals in decisions to withhold or withdraw life sustaining treatment: Part 3 (Victoria)
This is the final article in a series of three that examines the legal role of medical professionals in decisions to withhold or withdraw life-sustaining treatment from adults who lack capacity. This article considers the position in Victoria. A review of the law in this State reveals that medical professionals play significant legal roles in these decisions. However, the law is problematic in a number of respects and this is likely to impede medical professionalsâ legal knowledge in this area. The article examines the level of training that medical professionals receive on issues such as refusal of treatment certificates and substitute decision-making, and the available empirical evidence as to the state of medical professionalsâ knowledge of the law at the end of life. It concludes that there are gaps in legal knowledge and that law reform is needed in Victoria. The article also draws together themes from the series as a whole, including conclusions about the need for more and better medical education and about law reform generally
Spin-current noise from fluctuation relations
We present fluctuation relations that connect spin-polarized current and
noise in mesoscopic conductors. In linear response, these relations are
equivalent to the fluctuation-dissipation theorem that relates equilibrium
current--current correlations to the linear conductance. More interestingly, in
the weakly nonlinear regime of transport, these relations establish a
connection between the leading-order rectification spin conductance, the spin
noise susceptibility and the third cumulant of spin current fluctuations at
equilibrium. Our results are valid even for systems in the presence of magnetic
fields and coupled to ferromagnetic electrodes.Comment: Submitted to the Proceedings of the 31st ICP
