    Most of a network equipment vendor’s customers in the service provider segment, the media space, and the entertainment industry make use of a network to transport video and audio signals as multicast flows. Such flows include uncompressed video transport or compressed videos, which are Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) atop User Datagram Protocol (UDP) flows on a network. In such networks, when there is an incidence of packet loss operators find it impossible to determine where in the network the loss is happening as at times the flows traverse geographies and cross service providers. Techniques are presented herein that support a novel way of visualizing streams in network address translation (NAT)ed flows and tenant-routed multicast (TRM) TRM environments. The presented techniques support, among other things, end-to-end RTP flow tracing, the identification of traffic drops and duplication, and out-of-sequence categorization, all of which are immensely useful when debugging traffic in a hybrid setup comprising cloud and on-premise environments

    Effect of magnetic field on thermal instability of a rotating Rivlin-Ericksen viscoelastic fluid

    The thermal instability of a rotating Rivlin-Ericksen viscoelastic fluid in the presence of uniform vertical magnetic field is considered. For the case of stationary convection, Rivlin-Ericksen viscoelastic fluid behaves like a Newtonian fluid. It is found that rotation has a stabilizing effect, whereas the magnetic field has both stabilizing and destabilizing effects. Graphs have been plotted by giving numerical values to the parameters, to depict the stability characteristics. The rotation and magnetic field are found to introduce oscillatory modes in the system which were nonexistent in their absence

    Burn out and depression in paramedical workers of tertiary care hospital during COVID-19 pandemic

    Background: Medical/paramedical professionals are prone to various behavioral disorders due to work pressure. The aim of the study was to evaluate burnout and depression in paramedical workers of a tertiary care hospital during COVID-19.Methods: Paramedical health care workers were assessed using online questionnaire containing self-administered questionnaire in this cross-sectional study between March 2021 and May 2021. Burnout self-test, depression, and anxiety were measured.Results: In this study, only 2.6% had at very severe risk of burnout and 7.8% were at severe risk of burnout while 3.9% had no signs of burnout. Approximately 80% of the patients had no depression. While there were 19.5% had mild to severe depression. Only eight out of 77 subjects had clinically significant symptoms of anxiety. Two subjects were having comorbid illness.Conclusions: A considerable percentage of HCWs experience burnout, depression, and anxiety

    The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on our bodies, minds and souls. Having suffered it for more than a year now we know how crucial it is to tackle the pandemic at physical, psychological and spiritual levels. We have well-established Standard Operating Procedures alongside vaccines to deal with it at physical level, but equally crucial are mental and spiritual problems caused by COVID-19 (Chopra, 2020). This paper seeks to explore certain gateways and possibilities of dealing with distress, despair, anxiety, angst, trauma and disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in diverse arenas of human activities to ascertain how crucial a role spiritual tourism plays in coping with the challenges we face today. It will also take into account mystical, sufic, yogic, ayurvedic and other meditational practices that represent the richly diverse cultural and spiritual heritage of India. These practices have substantial bearing on the tourism industry by connecting tourists with their deeper, inner selves and thus providing much required spiritual solace. The inclusive and integrative aspect of spiritual and other meditational practices in India will also be underscored to demonstrate how these have been influencing and benefiting the tourism industry in India. Besides enriching the lives of tourists from different countries of the world by providing inner peace and harmony, the tourism industry also equips them with coping strategies to effectively negotiate despair and inner conflicts

    TE2Rules: Extracting Rule Lists from Tree Ensembles

    Tree Ensemble (TE) models (e.g. Gradient Boosted Trees and Random Forests) often provide higher prediction performance compared to single decision trees. However, TE models generally lack transparency and interpretability, as humans have difficulty understanding their decision logic. This paper presents a novel approach to convert a TE trained for a binary classification task, to a rule list (RL) that is a global equivalent to the TE and is comprehensible for a human. This RL captures all necessary and sufficient conditions for decision making by the TE. Experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that, compared to state-of-the-art methods, (i) predictions from the RL generated by TE2Rules have high fidelity with respect to the original TE, (ii) the RL from TE2Rules has high interpretability measured by the number and the length of the decision rules, (iii) the run-time of TE2Rules algorithm can be reduced significantly at the cost of a slightly lower fidelity, and (iv) the RL is a fast alternative to the state-of-the-art rule-based instance-level outcome explanation techniques

    Degradation by ultraviolet light of wool and other textile fibres

    Physical and chemical changes occuring in wool as a result of exposure to ultra-violet light have been investigated. The methods used included the determination of strength, extensibility and reduction in work of rupture, the measurement of density, refractive index, urea-bisulphite solubility, alkali solubility, water imbibition, specific surface area, dye absorption and X-ray diffraction. There is a progressive decrease in strength and extensibility and hence an increase in the reduction in the work of rupture of the wool fibre after successive doses of ultraviolet radiation. Increases in density and refractive indices of the wool fibre were observed, which indicated an increase in crystalline - amorphous ratio, probably due to molecular chain readjustment effected by ultra-violet energy. The imbibition value and the specific surface area of exposed wool fibres was reduced, showing that accessibility to certain reagents was lowered after exposure or that the structure became more compact in the molecular sense. No appreciable changes in X-ray if photograph were however observed to confirm these effects. That the exposure of wool resulted in degradation of main-chains and disulphide linkages was shown by the increase in urea-bisulphite solubility and alkali solubility after irradiation, The rate of dye uptake of wool fibres was enhanced after exposure. The dyeing rates of unexposed and exposed descaled wool were apparently equal. One of the main effects of irradiation on intact wool was therefore modification of the cuticle. The examination of degradation by ultra-violet light was extended to other fibres. Losses in strength, extensibility and reduction in work after exposure were recorded for matt and bright M 95, viscose rayon, Acrilan, Matt Courtelle, Fibrolane a and nylon 66. The light stability of acrylonitrile fibres seems to be very good, followed by nylon, viscose and Fibrolane DX in that order. The results of strength tests showed that the presence of a delustring agent increased the degree of fibre degradation. Ultra-violet exposure resulted in an increase in fluidity of viscose rayon, and a diminution of the viscosity and molecular weight of nylon. This suggests that in both viscose rayon and nylon rupture of the main chain molecules has occured
