AbstractThis article analyses the institutional entrepreneurship within independent regulatory agencies (IRAs) as a variable explaining policy change over time and seeks to offer new insight for the identification and analysis of structure-agency relationships. The article contributes to the institutional entrepreneurship research agenda by connecting changes in IRA consumer protection policy to changes in agency leadership (specifically, agency presidents). The method used relies upon a quantitative and qualitative text analysis approach to connect and pinpoint structure-agency dynamics over time. The empirical sections compare and contrast the results obtained through the content analysis of the annual reports issued between 2000 and 2015 by the Italian Communications Authority (Agcom), and illustrate variations between periodic changes to Agcom's presidency and changes in ideas, strategies and tools in the field of consumer protection in the telecommunications sector

Design of a miniaturized work-cell for micro-manipulation

The paper describes the design and development of a miniaturised workcell devoted to the robotized micro manipulation and assembly of extremely small components, jointly carried out by the University of Brescia, University of Bergamo, University of Ancona and the Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation of the Italian National Research Council in the framework of the project PRIN2009 MM&A, funded by MIUR. Besides analyzing theoretical and practical aspects related to the design of the work cell components (positioning and orienting devices, grippers, vision and control systems), an automated test bed for the assembly of micro pieces whose typical dimension belongs to the submillimeter scale range has been implemented. The perspective is to contribute to the realization of general automatic production systems at the moment absent for objects of these dimensions

SPONTANEOUS REACTIONS AND NEW COPOLYMERS FROM ELECTRON DEFICIENT, HIGHLY SUBSTITUTED OLEFINS.

The experimental results of the current work have three parts. First, the synthesis and characterization of several new copolymers by the free-radical copolymerization between several highly substituted electron-deficient olefins and furan, benzofuran, indene, alphamethylstyrene, and divinyl ether is discussed. Electron-poor olefins used included dimethyl cyanofumarate, carbomethoxymaleic anhydride and tricarbomethoxyethene. The spontaneous reactions of these monomer pairs were also investigated in both bulk and solution. Second, the effect of synthesis temperature on the composition of the previously reported (co)polymers of styrene with tricarbomethoxyethene and dimethyl dicyanofumarate are given. A ceiling temperature for the synthesis of this copolymer was found to be 220°C. Attempted copolymerization of tetracarbomethoxyethene gave evidence of a small but detectable amount of reaction. Finally, detailed procedures for the synthesis of dimethyl cyanofumarate, carbomethoxymaleic anhydride and tricarbomethoxyethene are given, including a new synthesis of carbomethoxymaleic anhydride
