Quasi-passive and reconfigurable optical node: implementations with discrete latching switches

    Get PDF
Quasi-Passive and Reconfigurable (QPAR) optical nodes are implemented using two different discrete optical latching switches based on Micro-Opto-Mechanical and Magneto-Optic principles. A clear trade-off between speed and power consumption is noticed for those QPAR realizations

Preserving global optical QoS in FWM impaired dynamic networks

    No full text
Optical quality of service (QoS) provisioning under the intricacy of four wave mixing (FWM) lightpaths interaction is tackled through connection admission control-routing and wavelength assignment (CAC-RWA) integration. Blocking probability and service level agreement compliance arc assessed for approaches with different levels of FWM awareness in diverse network scenarios. A compromise solution is proposed to balance CAC complexity and level of QoS provided.40319119
