Crisis and labour law recent developments in Portuguese labour law

The present study exposes the main features of the recent changes introduced in Portuguese labour law, following the severe crisis the country went through and the external financial aid it required. It addresses separately the alterations implemented in individual labour law and collective labour law, pinpointing the main developments verified in these areas and the driving forces behind them. Aside from an explanatory perspective (that covers the previous and the currents traits of the labour regime), this article also provides a critical point of view, regarding the consequences of these changes and the reactions they provoked amongst Portuguese society and its social partners.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

It's also available the author's English version (unpublished).In this brief article, we will try and sum up the main recent changes to Portuguese labor law. Although there were signs of evolution since 2003 (with the adoption of the Labor Code), this phenomenon was accelerated by the crisis, which particularly struck Portugal. In fact, the country was forced to require external financial aid and, as a condition to that assistance, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, demanding a number of alterations to labor law (among other areas) in order to create a more employer-friendly regulation and promote economical recovery. We try and will analyze these changes, their reception amongst social partners, as well as their practical enforcement

Knowledge partnerships with equipment suppliers

Background: Knowledge partnerships are conducted based on a model of knowledge creation and management. SECI model, created by Nonaka and Toyama, helps firms to deal with the creation of new knowledge and helps in the transition between tacit and explicit knowledge (Nonaka, Toyama & Konno, 2000). Purpose: The main aim of this work is for Sonae MC to be able to differentiate regarding its suppliers by being able to create knowledge partnerships. Methods: The methodology used in this study starts with an analysis of the type of equipment demanded and which suppliers are the biggest, more flexible and more willing to cooperate. Then, after interviewing the suppliers, we are able to list the knowledge that they are looking for and create a possible knowledge management model, where both parts get involved. Results: What the suppliers are looking for can be integrated on the knowledge creation spiral of Sonae MC. However, it has not been done until now due to confidentiality issues and the immense number of available competing suppliers that Sonae benefits from. Conclusion: Throughout this analysis it can be seen that there is room to cooperate with the suppliers and to improve their services by involving them in the decision planning operations and by giving them access to non-public information.Título: Parcerias de Conhecimento com Fornecedores de Equipamento Introdução: Parcerias de conhecimento são criadas com base num modelo de criação e gestão de conhecimento. SECI Model foi criado por Nonaka e por Toyama, com o objetivo de funcionar como uma ferramenta de apoio em lidar com a criação de novo conhecimento e ajudar na transição entre o conhecimento tácito e explícito (Nonaka, Toyama & Konno, 2000). Objetivo: O principal objetivo deste trabalho é de permitir à Sonae MC diferenciar em relação aos seus fornecedores através da criação de parcerias de conhecimento. Métodos: A metodologia utilizada neste estudo começou com um estudo do tipo de equipamento que é procurado pela Sonae MC e identificar quais os fornecedores mais relevantes, mais flexíveis e com maior vontade de cooperar. Seguiu-se de entrevistas, onde se listou o tipo de conhecimento que estes estão à procura culminando assim na criação de um possível modelo de gestão de conhecimento, com o envolvimento de ambos. Resultados: O conhecimento que os fornecedores estão à procura pode ser integrado na espiral de criação de conhecimento da Sonae MC. No entanto, tal não foi feito até agora devido a problemas de confidencialidade e devido aos benefícios que a Sonae MCV tem em lidar com fornecedores latamente competitivos. Conclusão: Ao longo desta análise podemos ver que há espaço para uma cooperação com os fornecedores, seja envolvendo-os na formulação do plano das atividades anuais ou dando-lhes acesso a informações não-publicas

Discriminación (principalmente) salarial por razón de género: análisis de la decisión de fondo del Comité Europeo de Derechos Sociales, University Women of Europe [UWE] c. Portugal, Reclamación núm. 136/2016

The present article addresses the subject of gender pay gap, providing an in-depth analysis of the decision on the merits of the European Committee of Social Rights regarding complaint no. 136/2016, against Portugal. To this end, it renders an overview of the most relevant international and European provisions on this matter ISSN: 2174-6419 Lex Social, vol. 12, núm. 1 (2022) 549 and an explanation of the Portuguese legal regime. The sociological and legal reasons for gender disparity are also discussed, as well as the difficulties associated with the implementation of the principle of equal pay. Finally, it analyses the Law of equal pay, recently introduced in the Portuguese legal order.El presente artículo aborda el tema de la brecha salarial por razón de género, analizando en profundidad la decisión de fondo del Comité Europeo de Derechos Sociales en relación con la reclamación núm. 136/2016, contra Portugal. The anatomy as a tool for the identification of the bark of Pterocarpus angolensis and Terminalia sericea

Pterocarpus angolensis and Terminalia sericea are two African species with medicinal potential. Despite the importance of their bark as a powerful astringent to treat various diseases it is poor described. In order to provide referential information for correct identification and standardization of the plant material, bark samples from each two species were collected and analyzed under light and electron microscopy. Some important anatomical features to identification were: the sclerenchyma tissue mostly in form of fibre-sclereids and the large secretory cells arranged in conspicuous rows or tangential bands in the conducting phloem in P. angolensis; the crystalliferous cells arranged in very regular tangential rows (druses) and the occurrence of large crystal cells near or including the tangential fibre bundles in T. sericea bark.The results obtained show that the anatomy of the bark can be used as an important subsidy in identification and standardization of the studied species contributing the scientific knowledge for more effective forms of scrutiny in preventing commercial adulteration of species

Preparação de salsichas com polpa de sardinha e óleo de fígado de bacalhau: valor nutritivo, características físicas e sensoriais

Orientador: António Henriques Barreto; Co-orientador: Maria Leonor NunesFace aos problemas de saúde, inerentes a uma má alimentação, tem vindo a ser crescente a preocupação dos consumidores no sentido de alterar os seus hábitos alimentares. Tem sido recomendado o aumento do consumo de produtos da pesca, uma vez que estes são, em regra, alimentos de alto valor nutritivo devido à sua riqueza em proteínas de elevado valor biológico, em gorduras polinsaturadas e possuem uma ampla variedade de sais minerais e vitaminas. Neste sentido, é indispensável que as empresas diversifiquem os produtos, para poderem satisfazer os diferentes consumidores, aumentar a sua competitividade, e melhor se prepararem para os desafios do futuro. Com este trabalho, pretende-se contribuir para a utilização de sardinha sob a forma de polpa no fabrico de salsichas e a substituição parcial do toucinho por óleo de fígado de bacalhau, sendo os objectivos deste trabalho: o fabrico de salsichas com incorporação parcial de polpa de sardinha e óleo de fígado de bacalhau; o seu estudo em termos de características físicas, químicas, sensoriais e nutricionais; comparação dos atributos sensoriais de salsichas tipo “Frankfurt” e destas salsichas de peixe. Pelos resultados obtidos verifica-se a existência de diferenças significativas a nível do perfil dos ácidos gordos, da textura (força do gel, deslocação à ruptura, força máxima à ruptura e dureza) e da cor (parâmetros CIELAB L*, a* e b*).----- Due to health problems, inherent to a bad feeding, there has been a growing concern of consumer’s towards an alteration its of eating habits. The increase of the consumption of fish products has been recommended, once these are, in rule, victuals of high nutritious value due to their wealth in proteins of high biological value, in polyunsaturated fats and in a wide variety of mineral salts and vitamins. In this manner, it is indispensable for companies to diversify the products so they can satisfy the different consumers, to increase their own competitiveness and to be better prepared for future challenges. This work intends to contribute to the use of minced sardine in the manufacture of sausages and the partial substitution of the pig back fat for cod liver oil. Therefore, the objectives of this to work are the manufacture of sausages with partial incorporation of minced sardine and cod liver oil; its study in terms of physical, chemical, sensorial and nutritional characteristics, and the comparison between the sensorial attributes of Frankfurter sausages and these fish sausages. From the results, significant differences in fatty acid profile, texture (gel strength, breaking deformation, breaking force and hardness) and colour (parameters CIELAB L*, a* and b *) are perceived

Ginásio Clube Português : exercício físico, envelhecimento e depressão

O presente relatório descreve as atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito do estágio realizado no Ginásio Clube Português (GCP). Este estágio diz respeito ao Ramo de Aprofundamento de Competências Profissionais do Mestrado em Exercício e Saúde, da Faculdade de Motricidade Humana. Este documento é constituído por um enquadramento institucional, onde são exploradas temáticas como a história, instalações e serviços do GCP, seguido de um enquadramento teórico relacionado com os temas envelhecimento, depressão e o impacto que o exercício físico pode ter em idosos com esta patologia e, posteriormente, um enquadramento da prática profissional onde são detalhadas todas as actividades desenvolvidas ao longo deste estágio. Além disto, é, ainda, dado um contributo à instituição através de uma pequena reflexão sobre o que pode ser melhorado relativamente à temática da saúde mental, com o objetivo de aumentar a motivação, melhorar a autoestima e ajudar a combater comportamentos mais depressivos nos sócios do ginásio. Por fim, é possível afirmar que os objetivos iniciais do estágio foram cumpridos, tendo sido uma experiência bastante enriquecedora, onde houve a possibilidade de adquirir novos conhecimentos e maior autonomia na prática profissional.This report describes the activities carried out under the research at the Ginásio Clube Português (GCP). This internship concerns the branch of deepening professional skills of the master degree in Physical Exercise and Health, in the Faculty of Human Kinetics. This document consists of an institutional framework, which are explored themes such as history, facilities and services of GCP. Followed by a theoretical framework related to aging issues, depression and the impact that exercise could have on elder adults with this pathology. Later a framework of professional practice which are detailed all the activities developed throughout this internship. It also made a contribution to the institution through a small reflection on what can be improved to the issue of mental health, in order to increase motivation, improve self-esteem and help fight more depressive behaviors in partners of the gym. Finally, we can say that the initial objectives of the internship have been met, having been a very enriching experience, where there was the possibility of acquiring new knowledge and greater autonomy in professional practice

Problematização filantropa da ação ecológica

This article discusses the existing duality between the terms Earth and world under the of the 21st century ecological crisis. It proposes, from the deconstruction of anthropocentric and ecocentric values, an analysis of the philanthropic/sustainable paradigm, as a way of understanding the interdisciplinary nature of the possible coexistence between Man and Nature. For this, are demonstrated some hierarchical imbalances present in the concession of Western culture proposed by Samuel Huntington, in the ecological imaginary of indigenous communities defended by Zoe Todd, and in the environmental impact of consumer society from the perspective of Patrick Curry, Richard Sylvan, and David Bennett. As a result, the importance of understanding a balance between consumption and production is demonstrated, condemning the elitist anthropocentrism of western communities as the cause and solution of the ecological problem, transversally illustrated from the market and the art world under the conception of the practical uselessness of its existence and given its contribution to a problem of overproduction.O presente artigo problematiza a dualidade existente entre os termos Terra e mundo sob o contexto da crise climática do século XXI.  Nele são propostos, a partir da desconstrução de valores antropocêntricos e ecocêntricos, uma análise do paradigma filantropo/sustentável, como modo de compreender interdisciplinaridade da coexistência entre o Homem e a Natureza. Para isso, são demonstrados alguns desequilíbrios hierárquicos presentes na concessão da cultura ocidental proposta por Samuel Huntington, no imaginário ecológico das comunidades indígenas defendidas por Zoe Todd e no impacto ambiental da sociedade de consumo pela perspetiva de Patrick Curry, Richard Sylvan e David Bennett. Como resultado, é demonstrada a importância da compreensão de um equilíbrio entre o consumo e a produção, responsabilizando o antropocentrismo elitista das comunidades ocidentais como causa e solução da problemática ecológica, transversalmente ilustrada a partir do mercado e mundo da arte sob a conceção de inutilidade prática da sua existência e dado a sua contribuição para um problema de superprodução
